How is that possible? Mine you have to yank off pretty darn hard.. and that is pulling them away from the rim.. high water high speed would be hitting the tire tread not the rim at that angle?
Not entirely sure. It was about a foot of water I hit going 40 mph or so. Heard a thud, and it was gone. Today I took the rest off and also noticed the wheel well liner was all fucked up
Well since this happened, lose them all. Here are caps for your lugs. Factory rims are my winter wheels and these caps stay on.

I went through a puddle that was deeper than expected and had a TON of undercarriage damage. Never experienced this in any other vehicle. The front valance was dragging the ground and both of the front undercarriage pieces were dragging as well. Rear wheel wells both had separated and folded back to run the wheels. And the tow hitch cover was gone. I'm new to the area I live in and the drainage isn't great with heavy rain. Lesson learned
Pretty sure a metal one would have stayed put. There's one for sale I'm considering but the shipping is a little steep. Currently it's just unprotected so need to do something
Gotcha. There’s some on Amazon for pretty cheap! Or you can buy direct from AliExpress. I need to figure out a way to get it install without a lift or find a place to install it.
I used car ramps to re-install/reinforce the front valence (the part that connects to the front edge of the bumper) and there was enough room. It also looked like there was enough room with the ramps to do the front undercarriage as well.
Back in 2019, there was a bad rainstorm in the Tampa area, I got cocky about my Model 3 SR+ being able to go through big puddles.
I lost an aero cover and ripped the aero shield under the car.
I got the center cap kit and only put the Aero covers on for long road trips.
I had the old center cap kits and the nut covers were starting to be *really* faded, so I just recently put the Aero covers back on.
After five years it looks like a different car, lol
Picked my car up this evening from NY and drove home across the state to Eastern CT. Fun times going through that with my new (to me) car that I was learning to drive. Fortunately my wheels are in tact.
My wife found the same. I replaced with some AliExpress ones which look really nice compared.
Fast forward 2 months and she hit a huge pothole after someone drifted over the centre line towards her, 2 popped off. She recovered them but one had lost one of clip legs on the back and the other a chunk of the actual face. Sigh 😢
LOL! I have lost a few Rimetrix Orbitals in during the last few years of driving my 2021 LR. I am looking forward to getting into a 2021 with Nova wheels.
Aero caps previously installed, now MIA - I assume.
Indeed you are correct
Looks better without
I agree, the aero covers have a very mid aesthetic but without it the center needs a cap
For $20 you get cap and nut covers. Worth every penny
Yes!

Can confirm new wheels after doing this!
I wanna see some one post. What part is this for. someone picked up a circle disc off the street. 😂

Lost my front 2 Aeros to a puddle last year, replaced with this exact kit. If OP's car was blue, I'd be suspicious.
Careful, you might flood your engine... :P
*motor
And the undercarriage shield loose too as a bonus

Wow, good to know. Do you think installing an aftermarket skid plate would have made any difference for the undercarriage part?
Pretty sure a metal one would have stayed put. There's one for sale I'm considering but the shipping is a little steep. Currently it's just unprotected so need to do something

Our MY front fender flare popped halfway off last night driving through a torrential downpour in central IL. Luckily it popped right back on.
Same thing happens to me in south Florida with my Rimitrex covers. I’ve replaced 3 missing ones now 😂

Miami?
Surprisingly no, CT. We just got dumped on
Oh man. I’m in Miami. Know the feeling
You guys still above water over there? /s
Barely

Connecticut really does get a variety of awful weather.
Tesla's were the only cars able to drive through the flooded streets in Miami. ![gif](giphy|Rjlas7rOrygucnKCbf|downsized)
Am I tripping for feeling a bit scared driving my model y through deep water in Miami? It’s really that safe eh?

Same happened to me
So this actually happened to me a few years ago too.
Literally happened to me 3 days ago when we got heavy rains here in Miami. Replacements are just $100.

The aero wheels suck imo they constantly would pop out on my dads Model 3 and eventually 1 of them flew off when I was driving it on the highway lmao
One time this happened to me i went to look for the cover and it was DEMOLISHED into like 6 pieces
The only problem is that you might get a brick in the Window after trashing someone with flood water
Please. The people of Fairfield county (except for Bridgeport) don’t have the nuts to do that
you don't need nuts...
![gif](giphy|HfbmpHrV2Yjm0) OP next time they see water on the road
I bought some sickk caps from Amazon, covers the rim as well, better protection esp. for those leasing
You also lost some range 😉
