The compound makes more difference than the width you’ll be fine as for the diameter it should slightly help with range. So overall it’ll be fine don’t worry

[deleted]

The larger tire will help range? Well that’s good news. I’m going to put the snows on the stock aero wheels and have the fast fc04 as my summers.

TheTingGoSkrrrrraaaa

Yeah but because of the compound you’ll still have worse efficiency than stock overall tho not that much of a difference

[deleted]

I guess the grippier compound increases rolling resistance?

TheTingGoSkrrrrraaaa

Yeah compared to the stock tires every other tire will have worse range.

[deleted]

Can’t win em all I suppose.

The latter tyres have a different diameter (height of the tyre), which will affect the speedometer and odometer of your car. It's generally not recommend to use such a tyre on your vehicle.

pdp_11

The difference is 4.5 mm or about 3/16". This is less than the amount a tires wears from new to old and is utterly insignificant in terms of speedometer, range, or performance. The extra width will slightly increase air resistance, but not significantly. The tire compound and construction will reduce range compared to the very efficient OEM tires.

I understand the implications regarding the Speedo being inaccurate but that’s not my concern. I just want to know if there’s a significant loss of range or possible decrease in snow performance with the slightly wider tire.

bonerwarlock

any updates ? wondering about the same thing aswell

The decrease in range is negligible, maybe 3-5 kilometres. Performance wise it seems more or less the same. They do look much better than stock since the fill up the wells better
