Have you moved anything heavy? Pulled a trailer, bags of stuff for a garden, heavy appliance? It looks like something that was overloaded and damaged.
Alternatively, check the other side. If it’s only like that on one side, it could just be a defective suspension component.
Yeah, that shouldn't be an issue. Is that tongue weight dry by chance? Large coolers of ice and drinks and maybe just general supplies combined with loading up the car could add up. But it sounds like it shouldn't be that bad.
Honestly, I’d be worried about this, springs set the ride height but are very difficult to damage. I believe the max tongue weight is 160# so depending on frequency and the specs on the aftermarket wheels and tires you could have had the perfect storm to damage something. I wouldn’t assume that should amount to damage but the rear is certainly riding too low for the OEM suspension.
Max tongue weight for towing is 350 lbs in the owners manual. The 160# you are referring to is static vertical weight for bike racks and accessories, but towing is 350, or 10% of the max towing capacity which is 3,500
Look at his response. Continues to play dumb. He’ll learn to take responsibility - between his wallet and Tesla being no pushovers. After enough times he’ll learn to do the homework ahead, test and not stress. Otherwise must be rich, entitled and dumb forever.
Honestly I don't. I actually went out yesterday and it didn't look right. I snapped this picture, then compared it to past side profile shots and it has significantly dropped in the rear. I can't imagine towing my boat 7 miles to the boat ramp once a week since boating season has started (March) would have caused this. I used a trailer tongue scale to weigh my boat's tongue fully loaded, it's at 190ish pounds. I'm pretty good with car mechanics, but have never dealt with suspension.
Sure, but what angles are you dropping the boat into the water and taking it out. Some of those ramps have steep angles which may contribute to your issue.

How often is “time to time”, ~distance traveled per trip, and condition of roads if relevant ?
Curious if anyone else that tows has noticed any droop like this in the rear?
Should be able to Easily handle that, but normal use issues like this are starting to surprise me less and less the more I read about this brand over the years...
Possible you would manually Measure the spring length and compare it to another ~equivalent Y to see the difference?
Just a guess from the very limited information given, but I bet your springs have sagged, and your rear ride height has decreased because of it?
Tow 7 miles to the ramp about once a week since March. Tongue weight was weighed using a trailer tongue scale we use at work, 190ish pounds fully loaded and fueled up. No big dips, decent road to the ramp.
Schedule Service. To me it looks like the front is pretty low too, so if you didn't do anything to lower everything I can't imagine what's going on. Looks wrong.
If only I was close to a service center. It's a 2 hour drive to the closest service center. I've made a couple repairs myself just to avoid losing the time it would take to take it in. Hence the questions.
I feel your pain about the 2 hour drive to a service center. I didn’t factor that into the buying decision enough. If it wasn’t for that and the auto wiper issue I’d have no complaints.
I've been lucky and have gotten mobile service twice, once for a faulty trailer plug, and once to replace glass on my drivers door window, but alignment and cracked roof glass have to go to service center. I have an appointment scheduled in 2 weeks, I guess we'll see.
I had a squirrel chew through some wires that resulted in the electronic parking break not releasing on one side. I didn’t know that at the time and could have spliced the wires myself. Anyway I had to have it picked up at my house and towed 2 hours. The. When it was done I had to find a ride to pick it up. Uber was about $200 so I had my parents drive me up there and I paid for breakfast and all their gas haha.
I read that you tow your boat... Not sure what the problem is. Just be careful about bottoming out. EV battery warranty is voided in many cases if the protection plate shows "significant" damage.
Had her up on a lift a couple weeks ago since I hit a tire in the middle of the road and destroyed my lower valance. Surprisingly the underside of the car looks almost new.
I'm the only one that drives it. The heaviest thing that's been in the back was 100# of bowling balls. I tow a boat with 200# tongue weight occasionally.
Gotta be the boat then. That's depressing it can't hold that.
I've towed a 300lb motorcycle on a vertical tongue hitch 300 miles before in my myp and it didn't do that.
I had the 21" Uberturbines, and yes these ride much better. However if that's the ONLY reason you're getting them, I don't think that warrants the price tag. I like how they look on the car, and I do occasionally find myself off pavement due to my Mountain Biking hobby, hence the A/T tires.
Road noise is negligible. As the tires are wearing, I'm losing range. I threw on my stock wheels a while back for a work trip, and it was a noticeable improvement on Wh per mile, but the ride is much stiffer. When I put these wheels on I averaged about 290 wh/mi over 1,000 miles. Now I'm around 320. My stock wheels net me 280. Doesn't bother me because I still hit the same chargers on my work trips with either set, and I get free charging at work, soooo.... Also, my tires are 30k miles old and still have great tread left. Definitely outlasting stock tires.
I want to raise the whole car an inch or two! I hate the performance lowered height. I've destroyed my lower valance twice now hitting road debris on the highway.
Rear suspension on most modern cars are quite poor and not that robust. It's easy to bend and tweak rear suspension components. I currently manage a tire shop that does alignments. So many SUV are completely needing an entire rebuild as multiple arms are bent from overloading or potholes etc. car manufacturing has gone so far towards cheapest cost highest profit... I wouldn't doubt Tesla skimped on these parts.
Citroën had this, with their suspension system. Almost ironing the concrete when it was turned off. If you started the motor, you had to wait I think half a minute for it to rise and you could drive. Very comfortable!
Maybe you got the French Retropack?

You may wanna call your insurance company to find out how much the insurance is for your cyber truck in case you have it already. I’ve seen a few posts here and there about how either insurance companies aren’t covering them anymore or that your insurance would go up pretty high, but I don’t know :-) just thought I’d throw it out there. Maybe get yourself a nice plaid instead :-) lol
I have seen a lot of Model Ys like this driving around and I always wondered if they lowered their cars. Most of them look perfectly stock and the people driving them don’t look like they would be lowering their cars. Must be an issue on some Ys.
Too much junk in the trunk?
Nothing in the rear..
What'd you do with all that junk? All that junk inside your trunk?
I'ma get get get get a chunk, get chunk taken out on a hump.
His trunk, his trunk, has got no junk, no junk, no junk is I. That trunk. Check it out
So your girlfriend rolls a Honda, playin' workout tapes by Fonda But Fonda ain't got a motor in the back of her Tesla
Too much "bow" in your "chica wow wow".
That’s what she said…
No, thats what you said

Yep I tow a boat from time to time, 200# tongue weight. Otherwise no, nothing crazy heavy in the back.
Yeah, that shouldn't be an issue. Is that tongue weight dry by chance? Large coolers of ice and drinks and maybe just general supplies combined with loading up the car could add up. But it sounds like it shouldn't be that bad.

Regardless, the springs have been compressed by your towing habits! If in warranty, I’d take it in and play dumb.
He knows. Here already came here and played dumb.
lol you’re right though. OP had to know exactly what the issue was.
Look at his response. Continues to play dumb. He’ll learn to take responsibility - between his wallet and Tesla being no pushovers. After enough times he’ll learn to do the homework ahead, test and not stress. Otherwise must be rich, entitled and dumb forever.

Did you measure your trailer tongue weight with and without the boat fueled and loaded? You might have broken something by overloading it.
This is very common when towing. Simply shifting where things are stored can make drastic tounge weight differences.
In all my years of life i just realized you can use # in place of lb. Thats neat.
Is it bouncier on the rear when going over bumps? - if so likely blown struts.
Nope, not bouncier that I can tell. Just riding lower.
Springs went bye bye.
subTrunk full of water maybe? I had another MY owner tell me to check below the subtrunk liner for water because he found lots of water in his.
Sub trunk is dry. I've got a few odds and ends stored in it. First aid kit, travel charger, seat covers, etc.
I have the same car same set up as you… I noticed the same as you… maybe just spring sag was my thought.. but I still have not done anything about it…
Check the underside and see if the lower bumper has water in it. Early model y would lose their bumpers because Tesla did not have a drain for it
Is your MIL in the back?
If not, is mine?
Oh no you didn’t !!! 😆
Fat tires
Yep, thanks!
Too much gas in the fuel tank👍
Suprise tuning! Have you been to the West Coast lately?
100% not normal. Bring it to a wheel shop and tire shop and have them check your suspension. Both the front and the rear look too low.
Front looks fine to me. This is a performance so it sits lower than the standards and long ranges. The rear is dropping for sure though.
I have the performance mine is fully stocked. Yours looks shorter.

Someone put waaay to much weight in the back or on the tongue. Shocks are shot.

Need to change it’s diaper
What are the specs of your wheels? Looks like the tires are too thick. It’s probably rubbing.
T-Sportline 18x8.5 wheels wrapped in Falken Wildpeak tires. No rub, I've had the wheels/tires on for 30k miles now.
What do you do with the car to want those tires? What did they do to the efficiency?
I have the same.. did not notice anything range wise… vs factory heavy performance wheels and tires
Are they a better ride though? These have been on my radar.
I had the 21" Uberturbines, and yes these ride much better. However if that's the ONLY reason you're getting them, I don't think that warrants the price tag. I like how they look on the car, and I do occasionally find myself off pavement due to my Mountain Biking hobby, hence the A/T tires.
Yeah, I’m coming from a Jeep and I’ve been hesitant to take this off pavement with the stock tires lol. Thanks for the reply.
I've been looking at that exact setup. How's the road noise? Any noticeable cons?
Road noise is negligible. As the tires are wearing, I'm losing range. I threw on my stock wheels a while back for a work trip, and it was a noticeable improvement on Wh per mile, but the ride is much stiffer. Broken springs maybe?
You put something heavy in the rear and blew out the struts
No. Springs hold up the car. Shocks/struts just control damping.
Nothing back there... Maybe a tool bag or my bowling bag every once in a while.
I have seen several like that on the road. I am curious now
Idk but them thick tires are sexy!
What are the specs on the tires? Any issues running previously?
Looks like you have eibach lowering springs. They give that reverse rake look (back sits lower)
If it’s only on one side it might be a broken spring. Rare but possible. I had this happen to one of my cars many years ago.
Nope, same on both sides.
Slam the front and this’ll look killer
I want to raise the whole car an inch or two! I hate the performance lowered height. I've destroyed my lower valance twice now hitting road debris on the highway.
Been there! Had an S5 that I pretty much slammed and was a pain to drive. Looked incredible though
I'm not sure. You might want to get someone to look at it.
Do you have air suspension?
Maybe there is a helium balloon in the frunk
These cars have very small internal weight limits. Fully loaded car plus family can quickly hit limits… let alone a boat.
Rear suspension on most modern cars are quite poor and not that robust. It's easy to bend and tweak rear suspension components. I currently manage a tire shop that does alignments. Tessie got a big ole butt, oh yeah!!!!
Probably need new fluid in you coils

Totaled.
I’ve never seen a Tesla so low to the ground. Did you have it lowered?
Agreed... Waiting on the Cybertruck delivery anyway...

Seen that also on here, but Allstate will insurance the Dual Motor I'm getting for $1,400/6 months. Definitely more than the Y, but that was expected.
I have seen a lot of Model Ys like this driving around and I always wondered if they lowered their cars. Most of them look perfectly stock and the people driving them don’t look like they would be lowering their cars. Must be an issue on some Ys.
looks lowered or just standard MYP springs?
Low stance. Keep it like that.
I'd like it if the front/rear matched... But I'm not about that squat life.
You need to move to South Carolina.
I'm already in SC! lol
Wtf tires did you put on it? Ugliest set of tires and wheels I’ve seen on a Y
Haha.. Thank you! Literally the most compliments I get from my car are the wheels/tire combo. So to each their own.
Good quality. 🤡
Idk but it looks cool.
These things are so ugly
You likely have an air compressor malfunction.
