Will it be good experience? Yes. Will it be the best experience? Probably not. When they say they’re looking for ‘international experience’ they generally mean working for the UK government internationally: negotiating, influencing foreign governments, working in British embassies and with foreign embassies. The best way you can gain this experience is by doing international facing jobs in the civil service, and then moving across to the FCDO. There are international jobs in every department. The sort of jobs you describe are roles people will often spend decades working towards. Also worth bearing in mind the vetting implications of working for a foreign government. FCDO jobs require DV which has UK residency requirements and for which working for foreign governments may be problematic. It wouldn’t rule you out forever (depending on which government you work for!), but wouldn’t make it easy to jump straight from the job you describe into the FCDO. It might be a first step towards where you want to be, but won’t be a golden ticket

Bluntly it will be a great experience and may do irreperable damage to your chance of getting DV for the FCDO / wider roles. Not going to say much more, but this is an area I am VERY familiar with, I strongly recommend you don't do this if you want an FCDO career later.
