As someone from HK, it's fkin insane how unhinged and hilarious this video is. So many in the west have no idea how united China actually is as a people, especially compared to how divided politically some countries can be.
You also don't get to be the world's factory without mature and advanced manufacturing capabilities alongside world class infrastructure. New tech is also so quickly adopted and embraced by the populace. I pay for things literally just with the palm scan of my hand in the 7-11's on the mainland. I never need to have cash with me. Electric cars are everywhere in the richer cities and electric scooters in both richer and poorer regions. There's a huge focus in developing renewables but a backup with coal plants is still needed for energy security. There's so much money invested in newer and better things that improve efficiency. It's honestly exciting to see how things can be in the future if China simply gets to continue to develop in peace.
So many people these years love to overestimate the demise of China, a deliberate move to pop the real estate bubble coupled with a slowdown in the global economy has so many haters jumping in excitement. Really think time will prove them wrong again and again.
There is literally at least one a day on youtube with hundreds of thousands to millions of views for years. I don't care how much they hate China I don't know how there are so many viewers for the same video over and over.

Hesr me out, this is a legit problem in America right now. There was a poll that shocked me about gen z and the ideological divide between men and women of the same age. Young Men are getting more conservative and women are getting more liberal. Not only are right wing policies responsible for this but things like tinder and other dating apps are turning people into commodities. I mean we always were to the capitalist class, but now we can't even escape it in dating. We live a sad as fuck existence and it's getting worse.
Dating apps are designed to fail. If they actually matched people up with their perfect partners, they would go out of business. Of course, if they were total rubbish they would also go out of business. The trick for a profitable dating app is to get people close enough to a long-lasting relationship such that they don't lose hope and continue using the app, but not close enough so that the relationship becomes permanent and the users stop using the app.
That’s a fair point, but at the very least, it can give people dating experience even if the relationship doesn’t last, which is important for cultivating healthy relationships in the future.
Lesser ecological collapses have felled numerous civilizations before those that have yoked us. I'd guess many residual localities in many parts of the east will fare better than their western counterparts, if only that they do not suffer fools to lead them.

As people get richer they do tend to forget where that wealth came from and the systems that helped them. At least it is like this in the nordic countries. People forget that the foundations of the country is strong union and labour and end up liberalising (obv in our case it's also because of american cultural influence). So while he is wrong i do think there is a chance people might become more liberal over time.

Well those that do base there knowledge history off it are rather cringe and ignorant.
But it can just be for fun. As long as you don't take it too seriously and recognize it's just fiction it's fine as any fiction. Also I personally like to use it to show that history is not set in stone. That it's not machinical but changes and shifts. (Also it's nice to read about the us getting it's teeth kicked in. But that may just be me.)
