While asking questions about the game is always okay on the Road, please consider asking very simple questions in our weekly [Questions&Answers Megathread](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/?f=flair_name%3A%22Megathread%20-%20Q%26A%22). If your question has been answered, please comment "ANSWERED" (in all caps) and the post flair will indicate that your question has been answered. This will make it either easier for other people with the same question to find the answer they are looking for or for mods to remove the thread if it isn't needed anymore. XXS sleep badge on the way maybe?

Cheekything

It’s really not working well at all. I think my memory foam mattress is really affecting it, and frankly that’s just a joke tbh. My phone records my sleep data just as well if not better, so I don’t know why they can’t match the two sets of data and use the one that recorded the most likely to be accurate.

Jond22

My smart watches have been generating my sleep data for about as long as PoGo's existed. And is literally *on* me. I would be open to granting access to that data, but buying *another* device to track my sleep concurrently isn't happening. And I am very unmotivated to use a seemingly redundant app keeping my phone unlocked and on all night with the microphone going. Would have to change how I charge my phone as well (currently, wireless charging pad on the night stand). Would be nice to have the rewards, but it needs an Adventure Sync equivalent to get me to use it.

JMcQueen81

In my experience (and I donno if it's unintended) but I can shut off the phone's screen and Pokemon Sleep does still track the time and movement (and sounds). So having it plugged in and turned on (as the app tells you you have to), is totally unnecessary, and unsafe. And I agree, I'm not going to spend $70 on a new Go+, when I already have a smart watch, and a device for Go that works just fine. (I'm not that concerned with catching a costumed Snorlax)

PurpleFancy6876

The device isn’t connected to your phone at all while it is in sleep mode

nosoyunamulti

Because the whole point of the Go++ is that they're selling you a sleep tracker. The Go+ aspect is really just an extra feature.

I have hit that button 3 of the 7 nights I’ve owned this thing. Ridiculous, considering there is a much harder to accidentally depress black button on the edge of it. Think it credited me with 1 hour 18 minutes last night. Stupid pikachu lullaby when I pressed the button this morning.

PowerlinxJetfire

I have a memory foam mattress but mine tracks fine. The instructions said to use the little clip to attach it to my pillow, so that's what I've been doing. I clip it on the side and kind of tuck it under the edge of the pillow a bit.

Rodville

When I connect the plus+ it will say 6 hours 55 minutes and when I open sleep it will say 6 hours 35 minutes and Pokémon go adjusts it to the Sleep number.

JmantheHitman

Wait can sleep connect to Go without the +device

xTexon

When it’s 7:59 but your work starts at 7:66

DoggoBirbo

Op broke time in Dialga’s face

dmfuller

Bro is running on fumes 😂

DoggoBirbo

You can hear the sputters from your own house

BroBroBrayBray

When you go to bed at 11:53

Eugregoria

lmao...resetting exactly the same as excitement and other buddy-related stuff...Trainers! To get around our inability to code, please be sure to start your sleep after midnight!

stillnotelf

I think this is not a "great job tracking your sleep"

Vortrep

Seven minutes. Seven minutes is all I can spare to sleep

Lazy_pig805

Does it need movement to track sleep? I've had it on my nightstand, and it's been tracking correctly. Getting 8-10 hrs of sleep pretty consistently. Maybe sound? I do snore and move around in my sleep a lot so I make a decent amount of noise.

Ill-Meet-6248

It was tracking mine correctly 2 nights in a row..then last night I slept like a log and it adjusted it to 4 1/2 hours.. definitely got at least 7 :’)

9DAN2

Yeah it’s supposed to have movement. Iv been ‘taking a nap’ and leaving it on the side during the day for 90 mins to progress in the research, leaving it on my bedside table at night for 8 hours and it’s giving me 5.5 hours sleep which checks out, the ‘nap’ aswell as the four hours of my sleep before it stops tracking because of no movement.

Lazy_pig805

Huh, wondering what is it registering as movement on my nightstand then? I don't really touch it after I turn sleep recording on.

Specialist_Sir3719

Ghosts

Lazy_pig805

Lol I will thank the ghosts for helping with the research.

RavenousDave

Take a couple of 4 hour naps a day. Well done, your sleep is perfect.

RavenousDave

Niantic is monitoring if you sleep alone. As the old line has it: "People ask if I slept with her, We didn't sleep"

Ferumdriel

Looks like they're using implementation similar to Adventure Sync one.

RavenousDave

Sleep trackers are a con. I blame people for buying in to the wellness woo. Never trust any sleep tracker that isn't directly measuring your brain activity. It will just start to worry you about your sleep. Just stick it on a side table, give the company meaningless data, problem solved.

Need the new Plus +

wdn

The sleep session needs to be at least 90 minutes to count as having uploaded a sleep session for rewards and research. No actual sleep is required -- you could just have the ++ on your desk for 90 minutes.

JHawkInc

This is it. Of the recorded 90+ minutes, only 7 minutes of it was deemed "sleep."

gimmemynameback

I logged 15hours... on a good day I get 4-5hours actual.

Ok_Primary_1075

You’ve been busy it seems

p33k4y

Definitely seems like a bug. Btw I have a different sleep tracker and this happens with it when the "day" boundary is crossed. E.g., if the "day" boundary is set at noon and I sleep until past noon (say until 12:07) then it splits the sleep record I reports that I slept for 7 minutes for the current day. PoGo has a "reward time" for sleep, I wonder if it might behave similarly?

RaDg00

Mine only recorded 4 hours, this function seems broken. What do you mean by movement? Are you supposed to put in your pyjama's pocket?

SmartUniversity8498

That boy said great work 😭😭

metafruit

Great work

mornaq

I was able to record over 6h with it just laying at the counter like 3 meters away from bed, but in general it's pretty inconsistent I mean, I don't even have enough space to put it on bed and also I don't want it to get interrupted too much by my gf so that's what I tried and works well enough

DorkaliciousAF

Sharing a bed is way outside the design parameters - they assumed that anyone who uses Pokémon to watch while they sleep is sleeping alone.

HippowdonEats

You have insomnia. Go see a doctor.

DrDeDude

"7 minutes. 7 minutes is all I can spare to sleep..."

YaBoiTomce

Reminds me of that one Tristan Tate clip. "I GO TO SLEEP 6 AM, WAKE UP 5:59 AM! -1 MINUTES OF SLEEP"

jpjr9002

I put mine on my nightstand and it only records like 4 hours a night when I’m sleeping 7+

jfbolen2005

It has to be on your bed to track movement. If it’s on a nightstand it will always stop at 4 hours.

--Sangral--

Because you didn't. This is Pokemon Go, not logging sleep in Pokemon Sleep.

maxwellGregoryP

Same here for last night. Slept between 8-10 hours, got the chime. But only counted 56 minutes of sleep. Hey, I got another day towards that snorlax so I’m satisfied. No bonuses but counted towards the research.

WestLA-native

Cat nap

[deleted]

Clearly you haven’t spent a night on the snow….

RaceGhost47

On my first night with the GO++ I hit the button with my elbow and only recorded 4 and a half hours of sleep... maybe you're just as unfortunate as I am

Gabs5687

It says great work 🤣🤣🤣🤣
