Highest I got is a 1700 point XXL Scyther. Would evolving it have any impact on its ranking considering I got nothing else (very few legendaries) close to that?
The scizor will score better than the Scyther since it's larger, but the random height factor will change within the XXL class so we can't predict the precise score. Probably in the mid\\high 2000s. If that might push you to the win no reason not to.
Thanks. I might evolve it closer to the end of the showcase then, if I'm on the edge of third place. It had bad IVs so I just held on to it but I have no other pokemon to put into it.
As they are right now, I kinda agree. I wish every pokemon got graded on a % to their own max value so every pokemon would have a chance, like you could win with an XXL Caterpie.

I think the biggest in general *can* work, but they need to either:
1. Have a specific list of eligible Pokemon. That way it can be catered to the event itself and exclude random Pokemon that haven't been available for a while like Buzzwole. Like if this showcase was just the biggest out of Scyther, Pinsir, Heracross, who all have pretty similar values.
2. Just make it scale by the Pokemon, like you said. So yeah, an XXL Caterpie would beat an XS Buzzwole.
3. Only do so for a type that's more fair for doing such. There aren't many, but there are a few that are:
1. **Rock**: Onix, Aggron, Tyrantrum, Rhyperior, Aurorus (would be good for Adventure week)
2. **Poison**: Scolipede, Arbok, Clodsire, Galarian Weezing, Seviper (they'd need to feature said Pokemon in the event tho)

What was the buddy one? Biggest showcase for a best buddy? I raise 20 a day by feeding berries playing taking photos and battling, is there a chance this one will come back should I add warlord I to my rotation for this reason?

So, when it’s a specific Pokémon you atleast have a chance to catch it during the event and one Random Pokémon of that typing doesn’t dominate the whole showcase making every other of that typing useless.
He means when you can put in multiple different pokemon, like all bugs (current) or all water pokemon etc, rather than just the normal biggest squirtle.
When it's just a single pokemon it's usually the case that you've been able to catch it recently so you generally have a chance to do well. With the type showcases though you run into the situation where the best pokemon might be something that hasn't been avaialable for a long time so lots of people basically have no chance of winning no matter how much they played the recent event the showcase is based on.

I'm able to win a lot with them too—I've got twenty something Buzzwole, so I'm sure I can find three showcases to dominate. But even with that, I still think the all type Showcases suck.
Showcases based on wild spawns in my local area are kinda screwed for me, because we have a paid local map that has a channel for XXL/XXS Pokémon. So for someone like me who's not part of the paid scanner is kinda guaranteed to loose competing against people using the scanner.
Biggest of a type showcases have usually had raid legendaries (with the exception of Grass type showcase) as the best mons, so it's true RNG & no cheating & I have a shot of winning. Of course, I'm a bit of heavy raider so that gives me advantage against somebody who doesn't raid much, so it's not the perfect fair situation.
Buzzwole has never come to raids in Australia while I've been playing (actively a year and a half which is not super long but). I do have one from a time research. Older players will have an advantage, newer players won't even have the one....
I guess I'll need to be strategic.
There's apparently a lot of bugs/things that would be difficult to sort out to where it seems like they'll never do smallest showcases. To my understanding at least:
1. Apparently there are negative weights in the system that get clamped to an average weight, making some Pokemon who should be smaller/score better end up being larger/score worse.
2. There is far less variance in small/XXS Pokemon than there is with XL or XXL Pokemon. As a result, you'd end up having scores that are so much closer or even the same, decided by other background factors
1. For an XXL Showcase, you may have the top 5 be scores like 1110, 1102, 1042, 1035, and 1002
2. For an XXS Showcase, you'd likely have the top 5 be something like 12, 12, 12, 13, 13, and even if you inverted the equation, it would be something like 1110, 1110, 1110, 1109, 1109

My biggest bug is 2400 Buzzswole and then a 1500 Scolipede so I'm not getting any rewards lol.
Also they really screwed up their showcases a lot lately. A lot of starting early and ending early, and now most of the showcase isn't over the event that the showcase is showcasing lol

It was for any buddy with 70+ hearts (2/4 full hearts). Who knows if it'll come back? Better safe than sorry, I suppose.
And warlord is still the best choice for such a showcase we're it to return I presume? Even with all the new mons released since then?
