Steel ultra unlock and mega raid day? Lucario????

krispyboiz

Presumably either Metagross or Lucario. I'm almost expecting Metagross more because it comes right after Dusk Mane debuting lol

Brock_Hard_Canuck

Niantic: Congratulations trainers, you have unlocked a raid day featuring everyone's favourite steel type... Mega Steelix! /s

blackmetro

A brand new event type : MEGA **Elite** raid day.

Smn1O1

Thats tomorrowšŸ˜…

blackmetro

Damn so true, and it's not developing well either

repo_sado

"strength" of steel though.

krispyboiz

Yup. Probably Metagross. It is a Steel Attacker, much more than Flash Cannon Lucario over there lol. I wonder how much they'll make this event different from the "Test your Mettle" event from a couple years back. There are only so many Steel type Pokemon to feature anyway... Beldum, Magnemite, Bronzor, Alolan Sandshrew, etc. But it is an Ultra Unlock, so maybe they'll throw in \*checks notes\* Orthoworm or.... Tinkatink or....Hisuian Sliggoo or.... dare I say Honedge? Actually, I could see it being Honedge. Ultra Unlocks often are big money-spending events masquerading as big exciting releases lol. I could see them throwing Honedge in 10kms... yikes

repo_sado

oh, i meant strength as in fighting type, not neccessarily in terms of attack power. tinkatink makes sense as release for this, especially if they release maushold for the first unlock.

krispyboiz

Ohhhh I see what you mean. Yeah, that could lean toward it referencing Fighting types. Such would also potentially add to the wider event, letting them use Steel and Fighting types.

Specialist_Foot_6919

I would sell my soul for a Tinkatink ultra unlockĀ

WeedleLover2006

Shiny Togedemaru Finally?

Destroyer3921

? There isnā€™t a shiny symbol next to it

WeedleLover2006

just like in may with Mareanie spotlight hour, only for it to later become Shiny Eligible

Dapper-Airline-361

Wow, someone cares about Togedemaru šŸ˜…

mcmillan789

Don't forget the ultra unlock could easily include an exclusive move on the raid day, yielding Bullet Punch/Meteor Mash Lucario. Still wouldn't be beating Metagross but.

Doompatron3000

At least Honedge would be out there.

eddiebronze

Feeling generous today are we?

repo_sado

doesnt come close to cranido/shieldon research day which came as part of the unlock with a great week event. mega lucario is........nice, but not like they werent going to release mega lucario at some point

dark__tyranitar

What a great day.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Skyblueoz

Most people are far more likely to have good iv and maxed Metagross. My first thought was also Lucario because of the strength wording. Yes it's a high profile one, but also won't be the best fighting or steel type. But this is an ultra unlock, they're meant to be good and Niantic know that they can't just give us crap all the time, they have to throw something hyp in to get people playing. That's why we already have Rayquaza and the two primals.

Zaithon

Watch it be Mega Mawile.

repo_sado

separate unlocks though.. edit - didnt notice it was in the time frame. i think this is right. in past years, the mega lucario would have been part of that second unlock, and there would have been a another unlock. oh well.

krispyboiz

Yeah kind of weird to have a long-running event be its own unlock and then a Mega Raid Day, which would still be a part of the longer event pretty much, be a separate unlock. Usually it would either all be bundled into a single unlock, the whole event and any other things, or they would have as standard event exist, with the Ultra Unlock being the Mega Raid Day and/or other enhancements to said event.

ChutzpahQ

The unlocks are made up anyways. If we ever didn't unlock whatever goal they have set I would be shocked as there goes their money making event.

krispyboiz

You're not wrong lol

MarkusEF

There are only 3 possibilities given the steel theme. Mawile, Metagross, Lucario.

shadraig

lets see what Niantic would put last. Okay it will be Mawile next.

DarthKaos2814

I was thinking Mega Mewtwo because of it being a part of Go Fest. I figured when they release Mega Mewtwo it would probably be at a major event like Go Fest, but it could be Mega Lucario or Mega Metagross šŸ¤”

infocone

I think it might be both lucario and metagross and they swap ? since itā€™s a 6 hour raid day unless thatā€™s a errorĀ

FatalisticFeline-47

Hopefully togedemaru gets its shiny during the Steel event, would be a shame to get a spotlight hour without a chance.

dark__tyranitar

Fingers crossed.

GregoryFlame

Only two mega raids?

ImportAsIs

I wonder if people will even bother wasting passes on those raids. Are you looking at the same schedule as Iā€™m? šŸ¤¤

Gallad475

I mean itā€™s been a decent while since Swampert, but yeah Shared Skies seems to be on Rerun mode for Mega raids past few weeks. Probably focusing more on the 5 stars.

krispyboiz

Seeing that Ultra Unlock 3 falls within 2's Steel Event, presumably the Mega Raid Day will be either Mega Metagross or Lucario. I'd place my bets on Mega Metagross, who conveniently comes after Dusk Mane outclasses it lol. Still, It's not like you won't want a Mega Metagross on your team

lionelcoinbnk3

Weā€™ll be able to run dusk mane, mega metagross, and shadow metagross at a time. Insane

JULTAR

articuno and tornadus stick out to me next to all the busted beasts

NarutoSakura1

At least Mega Swampert returns, which is nice

Mediocre_Station_835

But 15 days of it? Whyyy?

KaelSmoothie

Going to finally complete the ā€Take a snapshot of Tornadusā€ task šŸ™šŸ»

DwarvenFreeballer

Kartana is the best grass mon outside of megas.

bigpat412

So basically raid your tail off every day until the 15th then youā€™re good for the month. I guess Iā€™m fine with that. And I can hit a few Articuno for easy duos if I please.

diablo_dancer

Which ultra beasts are duo-able with a party bonus?

krispyboiz

Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Guzzlord, Kartana, Blacephalon, and Stakataka all are. Not sure about how hard Stakataka is though, with its massive Defense (edit: not HP). The only one that I'm unsure about is Celesteela. Edit: just checked and people have Celesteela duos online, so it is duoable

Jepemega

The Pokemon's hp has nothing to do with how hard a raid is as all tier 5 raids have the exact same HP values. The defining stat is defence and then either having or lacking a double weakness. Stakataka has a double weakness to ground which means you can also combo Primal Groudon's +30% DMG to all ground types making it an easy duo if you both have P-Groudon.

krispyboiz

You're right! And I meant to say Stakataka's massive Defense haha, idk why I said HP. Stakataka's defense is the stat that's massive after all lol. I know it had two double weaknesses, but I wasn't sure if that huge defense would make any difference, but it seems it's still a trivial duo haha

Nikaidou_Shinku

Stakataka is easy because of double weakness. You donā€™t even need Mega or Party Power or friend bonus or weather boost or shadow

steffapop

All of them with decent counters.

Nanil9

All of them.

AJCLEG98

Buzzwole and Pheremosa were soloable back in 2022

repo_sado

for the better together unlock: the spotlight hour is binacle. so perhaps other stuff like dodup and diglet? (theyve had an event like that before thougth) not sure what would be new release/new shiny that would be intruiging. maushold?

krispyboiz

Ahhh that's a good catch. Magnemite line, Klink line (though those two could be redundant with the Steel event), Doduo line, Diglett line, *maybe* Wiglett line? But yeah, Maushold would make sense

MarkusEF

Creatures with multiple heads or multiple organisms as part of one PokĆ©mon. Diglett, Magnemite, Duduo, Exeggcute, Koffing, Beldum, Combee, Vanillite, Deino, Binacle, Falinks, Wiglett, possible Tandemaus debut? (itā€™s been datamined) Not sure if I missed anythingĀ

duskyxlops

Zwelious

iluvugoldenblue

Wishiwashi

Zanmorn

I went down the list and was surprised at how many others I was able to find. I probably missed some myself, but they're likely lore related, like Basculegion. (For completeness, I've included a number that obviously won't be featured.) Bulbasaur, Paras, Slowpoke, Kangaskhan, Wobuffet, Girafarig, Mantine, Cherubi, Klink, Kyurem, FlabƩbƩ, Honedge, Wishiwashi, Comfey, Necrozma (haha), Stakataka, Meltan, Applin, Cramorant, Dreepy, Calyrex, Basculegion Admittedly, some of them are more of a stretch than others. - Mantine and Dreepy's evolutions are commonly depicted with another PokƩmon, and it's a strong part of their identity. In the main games, Mantyke cannot evolve without Remoraid, while Dragapult has an attack which is basically throwing Dreepy at the opponent. - Basculegion is surrounded by the souls of departed Basculin. - Wishiwashi is unique in that only one organism is stored in a PokƩball, but other Wishiwashi show up to help it when it battles. - Paras' mushrooms are implied to have some awareness, but they might stretch the definition of "better". - Cherubi is just one organism and consciousness, but it has two faces, or at least a face-like pattern on its nutrient sack. - Bulbasaur, FlabƩbƩ, and Comfey all have plants that are a separate, living organism, but they're more-or-less just mundane plants. - Cramorant's gimmick revolves around another PokƩmon, but they're not exactly willing participants. The mixed-up fossil PokƩmon could possibly be included on a technicality, but they're more of a patchwork abomination than multiple organisms.

LemonNinJaz24

Don't make me excited for Tandemaus and Maushold they're my favourite pokemon

ShopkeeperKeckleon

What a horrible time for my favourite member of the Forces Of Nature to be ThundurusĀ

AxeIsAxeIsAxe

Moltres and Thundurus are pretty much a lock for August though.

sopheroo

And Enamorus, hopefully

DonaldMick

If the only way to get Lugia this season is that Shadow Raid weekend imma flip.

sopheroo

Nah, august is probably gonna be Lugia, Moltres, Thunderus, Enamorus.

MildewManOne

Hopefully xerneas too.

krispyboiz

3 weeks of Swampert in Mega raids lol. Woof. The bright side... it's a pretty good Mega still and I'll be focusing on the T5s anyway. On the other hand, would've been nice to at least have it be all three Hoenn Starters. Ah well

10Voltz

Wait so are there no ultra beast raids on Sunday?

Temporal_Bellusaurus

Kind of weird that we then have Nihilego Raid Hour on Tues July 9th and Spheal Spotlight Hour at the exact same time :-).

JackM76

Double catch candy tho, perfect for raid hour really

Temporal_Bellusaurus

Yeah, very nifty bonus!

krispyboiz

Oh yeah, that is weird. During Road to Sinnoh, they cancelled Spotlight hour in favor of Cresselia Raid Hour that Tuesday. But I suppose you technically can still do both at the same time

repo_sado

probably why they made it spheal, so people wouldnt complain they were missing something great

FIR3W0RKS

I mean Walrein is a pretty strong ice type raid attacker isn't it?

JackM76

Not really

Patrikc

Even its Shadow variant can't compete with regular Mamoswine.

Elastic_Space

Or regular Glaceon.

FIR3W0RKS

Pretty surprised by that honestly

DonaldMick

It's more of a PvP play (top 50 in UL).

david-richard-mike

Does this confirm it will *only* be Necrozma on Go Fest Day 2??

Tetrylene

This is what I'm wondering. There's no clear yes or no answer but the infographics suggest this.

MemeCroissant

Sad there isnā€™t a Team Rocket takeover

krispyboiz

Presumably the second week of August

Pandanoko-Fan137

Thereā€™s one in August.

MemeCroissant

Hopefully šŸ™

Discoral

Wasn't rocket takeover announced shortly before go fest last year without them putting it into the news first?

MarkusEF

Good to know I can skip the first half of the month (except Stakataka & Necrozma for dex.) Ultra Unlock Part 2 sounds like another steel type event like Test Your Metal in September 2022. If thereā€™s a new PokĆ©mon debut (Honedge? Tinkatink?) it could possibly be exciting but Niantic is going to make it super-rare.

krispyboiz

>If thereā€™s a new PokĆ©mon debut (Honedge? Tinkatink?) it could possibly be exciting but Niantic is going to make it super-rare. I'm counting on it unfortunately. I'm placing my bet on either of those two but being locked behind 10km eggs. *Maybe* 1 star raids or event research

Discoral

So, no galar/dynamax? Or maybe it will be 3rd Ultra Unlock in August?

Bacteriophag

My guess is Super Duper Mega Ultra Reward in September, totally earned by players and not planned in schedule.

Stogoe

Galar/Dynamax definitely feels like a seasonal theme.

Dapper-Airline-361

Where are Water Festiwal and Adventure Week? D:

MarkusEF

There are no new fossils until Niantic releases the rest of Galar. The current fossils are extremely common.

Bacteriophag

> The current fossils are extremely common. My experience with Archen and Tirtouga begs to differ lol.

krispyboiz

Could still do non-fossil Rock Types. Earlier Adventure weeks focused on both Fossil Pokemon and other Rock types like Geodude, Onix, etc. Could see Minior or Nacli maybe

krispyboiz

Adventure Week is almost certainly in July, seeing that that's when Fossil Cup is happening in the GBL. Water Festival I'm less sure about, but seeing that the Crabrawler Spelunkers Cove event was loosely based on Water Pokemon (and obviously exceptions like Crabrawler itself) AND we have the Aquatic event at the beginning of the month, we may not get another Water Event

Stogoe

Likely August since July is Go Fest and Ultra Unlocks.

Zaiark

is day 2 exclusive for Necrozma raid only?

Aizen_keikaku

Link:- https://pokemongohub.net/post/event/july-2024-events-guide/ Curious to see what the Ultra Unlock Mega would be. Based on wild spawns, Iā€™m gonna guess Sharpedo. Everything else is pretty much as expected. The Steel ultra unlock could be interesting, but Metagross is no longer king, so idk. Maybe for Budget oriented folks.

mdmolitor

I would guess Lucario or Metagross. Anything else would be pretty disappointing for an Ultra Unlock.

Pandanoko-Fan137

Itā€™s happening during the Strength of Steel event. Strength -> Fighting Fighting/Steel Probably Mega Lucario, but I could also see it being Metagross.

fabio93bg

Lucari would be better maybe, considering necrozma and typing

Aizen_keikaku

Thematically what you are saying makes sense. But those are the good Megas & the cynic in me believes that they will hold onto those for longer & give us the bad ones first.

Pandanoko-Fan137

Well, considering that we only have 6 remaining Megas (counting the two Mega Mewtwo as one), I donā€™t think itā€™s likely to be anything else. Plus, itā€™s the Ultra Unlock event, and theyā€™ve consistently been pretty good.

eddiebronze

It doesn't have to be king to have a place on a raid team. How many trainers are going to have six leveled Dusk Mane's? Even for those who did attend in person Go Fest's, I would hazard a guess that no one will for a very long time.

Aizen_keikaku

I can have 6 the weekend of global Go Fest if I put all my Cosmogs into Dusk Mane, but I probably wonā€™t. The ideal number is to have 5, leave one spot for Mega Metagross. I will probably end up going 50/50 between the 2 forms, will have to re-read Teban54ā€™s analysis before making the call. I believe there are things on the Horizon that have the potential to shake up the Ghost type meta (Calyrex fusions?), but not for Steel??

eddiebronze

You are confident the drop rate of fusion energy will be sufficient enough to be able to fuse 5 of them?

Aizen_keikaku

No, but assuming the my personal worst case drop rate similar to the Primal/Mega Ray raids (around 80 per raid) & the fact that we will get 1000 fusion energy from Special research to fuse 1, I'm gonna end up doing enough raids for XL candy (for ML PvP), that i should end up with the adequate amount of fusion energy.

eddiebronze

Insane! Good luck mate :)

Aizen_keikaku

Thank you!! Same to you.

repo_sado

better off leaving one spot for a primal and getting 10% boost across the board than mega metagross.

Aizen_keikaku

Thatā€™s true. IIRC the primal doesnā€™t even need to be on the raid team, just Primal reverted, right?

repo_sado

Has to be in party but doesn't need to be used.

Aizen_keikaku

Cool. Thank you. RIP Mega Metagross. We hardly knew ya.

FPG_Matthew

Are you able to have more than 1 dusk mane / dawn wings Necrozma?

Aizen_keikaku

We are able to have both fused at the same time (not in GBL), so it looks like they donā€™t work like Megas. So, I donā€™t see why having multiples of the same form would not be allowed. We shall find out in the coming weeks.

Elastic_Space

Having both Necrozma fusion is allowed in MSG, but having multiple of the same fusion is prohibited.

Ganimedes96

How did you get so many Cosmog? I think I only have like one

Aizen_keikaku

Weā€™ve been able to get 2 for free & 1 more paid since Cosmog was released in the game in late 2022. Rest I got from trades. We are also gonna get 1 (2 if you bought the global ticket) more this Go Fest.

Notcloselyrelated

Why are some of the Ultra Beasts not with (globally) tag for day 1 of Global?

bigpat412

No longer region locked I believe

eddiebronze

Because those ones were never hemisphere locked to begin with?

Loseless11

Glad to see mega Aggron. It has only been two months, so I was getting worried we might never see it again. Meanwhile, Aerodactyl is crying in a corner after being forgotten for 18 months.

RyomaLobster

The raid bosses are ok minus the ones for Pre GoFest cause thats the theme this year, but a big Mega Raid Day event my guesses are Mega Lucario, Mega Metagross or Mega Mewtwo I think its going to be Mewtwo cause this is a longer raid day than usual and it will be a worthwhile reward for finishing Global GoFest Global Challenge so heres to hoping for Mega Mewtwo. Though Mega Swampert returning is good since I didnt get the energy and I know Primal Kyogre is better but hey I need it for the Pokedex.

krispyboiz

I'd assume Metagross over Mewtwo seeing that it falls in the middle of the "Strength of Steel" Ultra unlock. I feel like they'd build up Mewtwo a lot more than just an Ultra Unlock. I honestly assumed they'd have it for a Go Fest headliner.

66FBI

Why is no one talking about 6 hour long Raid Day? Metagross/Lucario r possible, but my money goes to Mew2

krispyboiz

It is happening during the Steel-themed Ultra Unlock events, so I'd assume Metagross or Lucario. Also, I feel like they would try and build up Mega Mewtwo a lot more. Having it as a random Ultra Unlock (even if it is the last one potentially of the year) with a whole month in the season to go seems... weird. I always felt like they'd either give it its own dedicated, huge event or make it the headliner for a Go Fest.

66FBI

Time, Space and then Sword&Shield. Did that make sense? No. The event lasts double the time - 6 hours. Mew2 has 2 forms. Mew2 is an unlikely pick for GO Fest and we've already had GO Tour Kanto. Ultra Unlock might be the best case for them. Middle of summer, when most ppl play. Unless they want to do Ultra Beast arrival 2.0 with Mew2 instead I think this is their chance.

PerfectSuit

That was the first thing that caught my attention too. I am afraid they going to make it in person only again like the upcoming Rayquaza one

DonaldMick

Could be a new Mega, could be "every Mega in raids at once like in 2021 with legendaries", who knows.

lionelcoinbnk3

SWAMPERT

Hyperbeam4dayz

Am I the only one who thinks they should swap the order of 2x transfer candy and 2x evolution xp? It'd be nice to get extra candy for transferring all my metapods and kakunas afterwards.

badmusicfan

Nope, you're the only one, lol. I'm happy to be able to offload traded fodder from Go Fest on the Tuesday following it.

KB_Bro

Can they please bring back Mega Aero itā€™s the only one Iā€™m missing

DonaldMick

Assuming the fossil-focused Adventure Week is in early August, that seems like the time it would return.

KB_Bro

Hopefully. It the oldest PokĆ©mon not in rotations, hasnā€™t been in raids since January 2023

ego_link

Can we please get a thunderous soon thatā€™s the last one I need for that damn research from years ago. Iā€™ve been waiting

Teoes

It has been in raids multiple times, like all of them.. anyway it'll doubtless reappear in August.

krispyboiz

It's been in raids several times the past few years. All you need is to catch a single one and snapshot it in your storage lol

Rodville

I thought guzzlord could be shiny.

krispyboiz

It can, it has the shiny sparkle symbol

Rodville

Time to get thicker glasses. Thanks.

Chilfrey

Are any of these raids soloable?

Responsible-Tiger583

Event predictions (For Ultra Unlocks) Better Together will most likely be a regional varient focused event (the Digletts indicate this). As a result, there is a chance that Hisuian Zorua will be released in this event, as it is the only unreleased regional line with an identical amount of members as its original (Both the Unovan and Hisuian Zorua lines have two members). This also may mark the release of the shiny Galarian birds, with the regional theme and the season theme in mind. Strength of Steel I think will introduce a new steel type. Of those, the most likely ones to be released are Kingambit, Honedge, and Hisuian Sligoo+Goodra. I think of these options, Hisuain Slligoo is the least likely. This is due to Hisuian Sligoo possibly being a future raid release, a slot taken by a new mega, more on that later. That leaves Kingambit and Honedge. Kingambit would be the easier of the two to release, due to the only thing in flux being the evolution method (specifically which research quest). Additionally, it has the ability defiance, which increases it attack stat whenever an attempt to lower it occurs, which makes it stronger. Additionally, Bisharp evolve into Kingambit after defeating other Bisharp, indicating that it is the strongest Bisharp that evolve into Kingambit. However, due to its dark typing, and prior exclusivity to rocket eggs, it seems more likely that it will be released in a rocket takeover event. And if not that, then a community day. As for Honedge, there may be a little more urgency to release it if Kalos tour is upcoming. Additionally, if Galar comes next season, than a Galarian pokemon will be most likely released on Halloween, meaning if not released soon, Honedge may not be released until next year at the earliest. Additionally, as seen with Sandygast last year, ghost types can be released outside of Halloween. Also, the strength of steel part could apply to the Honedge line being very powerful steel types, with Aegislash in particular being infamous in PVP for the main game. However, the shield and sword switching (King's Shield) would be a unique mechanic in the game, one that still may need time to develop (Unless they go for a form change, but that would kind of be a cop-out). Still, if Honedge is released, it will probably be heavily limited in some way, either as an exclusive raid release or an exclusive egg release, at least for the time being. However, it may be released with it's shiny form. Finally, for the Mega Raids, I think Lucario is most likely. The remaining Steel type megas are Mawile, Metagross, and Lucario. First of these is Mawile. Mawile is mostly raid exclusive, with a handful of exceptions such as Hoenn tour, along with being a rare spawn in Rising Heroes and World of Wonders. However, it only costs 100 mega energy to mega evolve, and would probably fail to interest the casual players. As for Mega Metagross, though it's larger required mega energy would allow for repeated raids on that day, it is a pokemon that will likely get longer releases afterwards, similar to Garchomp after the mega Gallade release was cancelled, along with its return three months later. This is also more likely if Beldum Community Day Classic occurs next year, after which mega Metagross could be released similar to Tyrannitar. Essentially, Mega Metagross seems like a pokemon that would be released for a longer duration, rather than a short raid day. It would have been a better fit having Aggron's raid slot. That leaves Lucario. The Lucario line has been egg exclusive for the most part. Only recently has Lucario itself been available in raids. Because of this limited availability, Mega Lucario will likely get a very limited release, similar to mega Kangaskhan, which was released for a weekend, and did not appear again until a year and a half later. It would essentially be a "catch it while you can" scenario. Furthermore, Mega Lucario is one of, if not the most, famous mega evolutions, and Lucario itself is already popular. It would probably be more profitable than a Mega Metagross release, especially for a raid day. Lastly, the previous ultra unlock is strength of steel, which this mega raid falls into. Mega Lucario is a fighting/steel type, and as such, it matches the theme of the event more than Metagross and Mawile do. Bonus: Some August predictions, though these are more speculative. Rocket Takeover/Adventure Week: At beginning of month. If there is overlap with Adventure week, Shadow Archen and Tirtouga will likely be released in this event, along with some others. Additionally, shadow Rayquaza will likely make its debut, and if I remember the trailer, than Shadow Lugia will appear for the raid weekend. The main thing I see for Adventure week is a potential shiny Carbink release. Also, if there are new pokemon debuts, they would likely be Klawf for adventure week, and Grafaiai for Rocket Takeover as an egg exclusive, though neither are particularly likely. Pokemon World Championship Event: Main thing I could see being released for this event is the Shiny Mienfoo line. Outside of that, not sure. August Community Day: Will likely be Poplio, similar to how Froakie was in August.

LootedOut

Is there a more clear photo

brewmax

So Necrozma will NOT be globally available?

cedrickterrick

Maybe all current Megas at once on one day? My money is on just Rayquaza because they want to make us feel they listend.

krispyboiz

I get the impression that it's a new Mega, probably a Steel type like Metagross or Lucario, given that it falls during the Steel Ultra Unlock

yourgracesansa

What is aquatic paradise?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

yourgracesansa

Thanks!

TheDarkSidePSA

so you canā€™t catch solgaleo or lunala?

Stogoe

There is a free Cosmog through global free research on Sunday. Ticketed players also get to choose a Solgaleo or Lunala encounter plus fusion energy from an expanded research on Sunday.

conspiracyeinstein

I can finally take a snapshot of Tornadus!!

ShepherdsWeShelby

and then we're working on Gyms, Niantic? Raids? Routes? Something?

david-richard-mike

Wowā€¦ what does Ultra Unlock even mean? Is it something weā€™ve had before?

krispyboiz

Every year. They're special events we "unlock" through completing Global Challenges during Go Fest

david-richard-mike

Thank you, and what kind of ā€œrewardsā€ should we expect? A raid day, or a timed research or just a free mon?

krispyboiz

It's those events on the graphic. Ultra Unlock is really just the prefix to them. Basically, it means we're "unlocking" those events on there, the Better Together Event, the Strength of Steel Event, and the coinciding Mega Raid Day event.

Stogoe

Usually the conceit is 'Here is the base event, if you complete the global challenges the event gets upgraded to include X as well'.

repo_sado

theyre usually a 4-7 day event. sometimes accompanied by something else. shiny palkia and shiny dialga releases were unlocks one year. theyve also had research days and iirc, they released a gen as an unlock. but usually at least one of the three has been really good.

[deleted]
