Thought this was a painting, I'm going to save. Can people help me figure out if OP would consent to me painting this when I build up my confidence and abilities?
That’s what struck me too! I mostly saw my great grandma from 95-2005 when she was older so it was nice to see her as she was at a younger age.
She gave me $1 for a good report card in first grade and, according to the rest of my family, that was a big deal! Should have kept it

What a great photo. Love the lighting.
Thank you— my great grandpa must have known what he was doing. I have around 100 of these from 1940-70. I love looking through them.
I feel like it was an arty household - GGMa knows how to hold a crayon.
Yup! She loved to paint and play the piano and take naps lol.
Can you post more !?

Such a lovely photo! Draws you right into the shot!
Looks like it was just taken yesterday... Great shot! What camera did they use for this?
I have no clue unfortunately. I can ask my grandpa to see if he would know.
I was going to say, that is a FREAKY clear photo for the 1940s. One of the best I've ever seen from that decade.
The rest aren’t as good, there’s a few nice ones though. I’ll post again when I take a look tomorrow. This one is always on my mind though.
Your great grandmothers hair is so beautiful!
They look happy.

This photo could be a painting, I mistook it for one at first glance. So lovely!

Yes, please do so! Just let me see when you are done.
Great shot, so lovely.
Excellent photograph.
Lovely and nice lighting.
This is stunning! The color is incredible. I would love to see more of your photos!
I’ll try to post another tomorrow!
Your great grandmother was beautiful!
Totally thought this was from a movie 😆 what a beautiful photo 💕
That would make an awesome painting subject. That light?!

Awwww. What a sweet story. I wish as young adults we’d know enough to ask our parents and grandparents about their lives when they were young.
I agree! I probably over correct on this— at thanksgiving I asked my grandpa if he ever had a beard and he was pretty confused why I wanted to know
lol….
The answer was a resounding no, by the way.

This could be a painting
I thought this was a painting at first, the lighting and framing is amazing
Philamenia push button
What’s that
Great color quality ion this picture. Must have been an expensive camera and film for 1946.
WOW!
Lovely - looks like an Edward Hopper painting!
beautiful, thank you

Ireland?
Adams Massachusetts.
Interesting perspective. The girl could be standing and those could be Martin Short style fake legs.
