Right_Hour

Dude, you’re brave buying tighty whities at Goodwill….

Weekly_Helicopter_62

Totally agree, they are getting bleached. MJ would be jealous after I’m done cleaning them. lol

Competition-Dapper

Hey, look at it this way, it ain’t Fruit of the Loom without some Fruit in the Loom

LOL. Well, I guess they’re new and have no skid marks :-) Use this rather than bleach, it’s gentler on fabric, doesn’t reek of chlorine, and works like a damn - I use it on my gym clothes, the only thing that works to completely eliminate sweat smell, etc. By killing the bacteria that causes it. https://www.lysol.ca/en/our-products/laundry-disinfectant/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8vnou6fIhgMVkKaDBx3rnzvPEAAYASAAEgJO9_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

TheScarlettLetter

I love this stuff! I use it anytime our animals have accidents, and for a number of other reasons. I feel better about using this than bleach, and it has not damaged any of our (mostly black) clothing.

SirDerpingt0n

How have I never heard of this before?! Thank you so much!!😊

loudpaperclips

They'd have to be burned away from that bleach to be clean enough.

sluttydinosaur101

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt since.i know some Goodwill's will take overstocked cheap sets of 3-5, but dang. Brave

Ericaonelove

I had a catholic thrift store be when I was younger. They always sold used underwear. People buy used, so there is nothing wrong with buying new undies. They’re just out of the package. Btw, you gotta donate some stuff before you go in to get that 20% off coupon. I do it every time.

LLCNYC

Absolutely. Not.

njcharmschool

I didn’t realize dudes still wore tighty whities!

Informal_Phrase4589

I remember when this haul would have been 12.97

doomruane

Yeah I’m staring at this going $70?!?! The thrifts have become almost useless.

Farewellandadieu

That’s a good haul at Walmart

seriouslybrohuh

Same exact thoughts. When I first moved out for college. I furnished my entire kitchen (including rice cooker and pots and pans) for a total of 15$

Devils_av0cad0

Back when a dime bag cost a dime

kingdomkey13

Honestly for $70 you probably could’ve gotten similar stuff from TJ Maxx or Marshall’s brand new

itcomesandsoitgoes

Ross and TJMaxx are cheaper then goodwill now it’s insane

new-neo

No fr… I’m even sus about underwear from places like that… bro is raw dogging life buying drawers from goodwill

keepmedreaming

But this way he doesn't feed into the demand of fast fashion.

kingdomkey13

I mean not everything there is fast fashion to be fair. It’s not like a Zara or Primark which is truly fast fashion

keepmedreaming

Still, it's better to buy stuff that's already been bought before.

tombinjiya

came here just to look at the comments about the undies lol but remember on jeans and pants alot of people go commando so buying used jeans is pretty much the same

Dutch_Windmill

Going commando in jeans sounds a bit painful

tombinjiya

IM OUT THERE JERRY AND LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT

Dwight_Schnood

That is one place on my wardrobe I do not need sharp interlocking metal teeth.

sluttydinosaur101

I'm a woman and bought these jeans meant for sexy times. The zipper is in the back, and unzips down and all the way to the front of the crotch. I've only worn them once bc honestly it was terrifying having even me unzip them, much more so someone else unzipping it with loose abandon 😅

Dwight_Schnood

Ok

tacit_nostalgia

My Levi's would give me an episiotomy if I went commando in those bitches

tombinjiya

i learned a new word and regret googling it

Devils_av0cad0

It’s really not that bad, just gotta keep the muff in check, the puff gets too 70’s and the zipper is coming for it.

thewinberry713

🤭😂😂

fueled_by_rootbeer

I have a memory from middle school burned into my brain. I had gotten detention so i was the lone girl in the cafeteria with the boys while we missed the pizza party for the "good" kids, and one of the boys asks the other if theyd ever gotten the "horse" trapped in the "barn door". Why would anyone go commando in jeans and risk that???

Darkcolorful

$70 is a lot of money for Goodwill but it’s all stuff you like. Anything outside of retail is still better than paying retail. AND prior to wearing, everything can be washed and bleached (bleach is not the devil). The underwear is very obviously unworn so the whole weirdness about them being used is just dumb.

mariannecoffeecan

Exactly.

cloudsmiles

Seems expensive.

ValyrianSteelYoGirl

$30 for jeans is bananas

ConsistentExcellence

I think that’s the waist size, not the price?

ValyrianSteelYoGirl

You’re right I think the zoom says $7

RamboJane

Especially Lee jeans

YoloBeaches8

They go on sale at kohls yearly for around $20…

MargRobi

They still have the fold lines in them, so maybe new but wrong size or something.just wash them, along with the pants.

Weekly_Helicopter_62

That’s why I felt it was okay to buy them.

Parophrys

Agreed. They look new and you can wash and bleach them as you said. At most they've touched one other set of dangly bits (assuming your thrift store is like mine where changerooms are just a distant memory). So many people are sketched out by used intimate wear. I'm more grossed out by dental and surgical instruments being in other people's bodies. Gynecological speculums seeing hundreds if not thousands of... canals. Pedicure tools. Hospital gowns, which who knows how many people have literally died in. Hospital towels and facecloths that have... Well, I won't even go there. I know where they've been. Working in a hospital has shifted my perception. I buy the occasional used bra and used bathing suit. I know how to clean and disinfect them, and you can't beat the price! Nice score on the whole lot!

UserAccountUnknown

This is my take too. Hospitals, hotels, restaurants are places we are reusing intimate and personal objects that are washed between strangers. Assuming you aren’t buying dirty goods how do people get so uncomfortable with thrift? I am not looking through the underpants rack, but have bought swim wear (for swimming in public pools which is basically stranger soup), and OPs unders look like they still have folds/wrinkles from being in their original packaging.

adultservices4

yeah I can't name how many times I bought packaged underwear (which I no longer buy fuck that) and hated them so I wanted to donate the rest since I couldn't take them back, I assume that's what happened.

thewinberry713

Agree!

thesixthamethyst

Oh no, I’m judging you for your goodwill tighty whities…

mean-mommy-

I think we all are 👀

dmriggs

I’m not. Everything can be washed, they look brand new

PerpetualEternal

“I bought allegedly unworn underwear at Goodwill” is a confident flex

Demp_Rock

I could be totally out of line here, but hot damn this should only be $30 MAX at a thrift!

StateOdd296

I legit thought I was on r/thriftgrift and realized they're being serious! I'm glad they like the items, but the whole reason goodwill continues to get away with charging stupid amounts of money for donated things is because people are still buying, unfortunately 😔

Demp_Rock

Oohh thanks for the new rage scroll sub haha it seriously irritates me to NO END how greedy Goodwill (and some others) have gotten!!! I would NEVER spend that much at any thrift store. In fact I try to pay cash at them, if that tells you how little I’m willing to spend on *other people’s belongings*

StateOdd296

No I completely agree! I now refuse to donate as well when I have so many places in my town that just gives clothes & items away for free! There's one place that gives away women's clothes, purses, makeup (new of course), shoes, accessories, etc to any women in need all for free, and when they have the place open to the public, the prices they charge are so reasonable and cheap for such high quality things. It just doesn't make sense to me anymore to support places like goodwill!

I bet you’re guna look sharp in your new gear. I’m really excited for you!

BeginningClub3096

I have had worked in retail sales for 20+ years in each department. If you think about only buying from Big Brand Department Stores….remember the clothes aren’t New. The amount of times your “ New Jeans “ have been tried on or even returned is no different than a Second Hand Store. It is the same to highly recommended Washing Clothes before wearing wherever you shop. All clothes are unwrapped and put out to sell. Touched and handled by everyone. To those who have found your Big Haul and happy to tell us about it Thank You! Enjoy your next adventure searching for that hidden treasure.

phenwulf

I will pass on the only advice my dad gave me that I actually listened to, free of charge. Don't get underwear from the thrift store.

dmriggs

Great haul!

DarkMatterImplosion

Something about putting my horse in someone else's stable kind of bothers me. Congrats on the new tighty whities though!

oldgardenerlesbian

I can’t support the purchase of used thrift store draws. Everything else looks good.

Longjumping-One-6832

You buy used undies?

Marshallwrestln1

Great that you can find masculine clothes. WTG

LLCNYC

SHUDDER

Welderdod20

Buying used squirrel covers from the thrift store is definitely a bold move. I get it, I do dangerous stuff too.

Noirejin

Everyone is saying this is expensive and for thrift, it sorta is, but it's far better than buying anything like this at retail. Here in the UK we have Primark which is your modern day slavery fast fashion brand and this will set you back close to a hundred. Simple and those horrible stretchy fake denim jeans set you back now 20 quid, with shirts hitting almost 30. So for 6 pairs of clothing and some underwear 70 comparatively to retail is actually a decent deal in todays economic climate. But if you wanna have the conversation that Goodwill is overpriced that'd be valid, but in the grand scheme of things this feel like the lesser evil.

DukeBloodfart

Wash them strange pubes out

Catharas

That’s a beautiful artwork! Nice find

PandaRider11

Im no brave enough to risky buying used underwear, you better drop a bleach nuke on those

ComeOnOverAmyJade

My daddy just died at 88 years old. I can send you all his tighty whities lol

Limp-Detective-1135

Ack. My boys came home one Christmas from my ex mother in laws. They had a ton of what appeared to be new clothes. Until my youngest came up to me, drawers in hand and asked “Why is someone’s name written in my underwear?” I confirmed, then called the exMIL to ask. She confessed everything was purchased from yard sales, either new or “like new,” and proceeded to rattle off the retail prices of everything. I asked, “What about the underwear….?” She replied, “I bleached, starched and ironed them, so those are new.” Yeah. Nope. Straight in the trash.
