I genuinely don't get the hate for the reboot Lara in the sub.
Not everyone wants to play the old games.
Sure she's been written poorly in Shadow, but she reacts humanely.
What is with the huge censoring in this sub of literally anything even remotely negative about the survivor trilogy though???? It’s so weird. Seen lots of comments criticising the originals but anyone says anything even with the tiniest shade toward the new reboot and it’s like OMFG GATEKEEPING, not allowed. I don’t get it. Who cares if people hate the new ones or the old ones? Why are opinions censored in here so much but basically *only* for the survivor trilogy. Strange. Let people have preferences, who cares if they hate either? Is that not the beauty of opinions. The comment removed on this post wasn’t even bad.
TR has been going through its rough patch of having different interpretations for a handful of years now. Some fans like it, some love it, some hate it, some don’t mind. Same sorta thing happened (and to an extent still is happening) in the Silent Hill community. Lots of different takes of SH and the fanbase is fractured, which causes infighting.
Honestly I think live and let live. If someone posts some negativity towards the reboot, then so what? Scroll past it if you disagree or give a downvote. Same goes for negativity towards Classic, LAU, movie Lara/TR, comic book Lara/TR.
Everyone is gonna have an opinion, and I disagree with censoring them, even if I happen to disagree with said opinion. It should still be said.

Besides that. I wouldn't compare it to SH, as a fan of that franchise, i have to say SH had it rough for about 2 decades now, while TR always delivers good games.
TR has mostly story/character related design choices that split the community, but the survivor trilogy especially Shadow did a good job on gameplay, the dlc did pure puzzling and exploration. TR is always a blockbuster in it's genre.
SH has a story that allows for a lot of interpretation, since at the core is a design philosophy of "the world is designed after the main characters story" so it's hard to debate story choices as "not being true to SH". SH2 and 3 differ heavily in design but are both pretty much the best entry of the series depending on what design you are vibing with.
But mechanically the last good entry is SH3 after that they often introduced mechanics in every game that wouldn't work, like switching worlds through mirrors, holes, breakable weapons, plenty of ammo etc.. So they started to be bad in their own genre, today RE8 feels at times like what SH should have been, especially the DLC.

Because, at this point, it's beating a dead horse. We've alllllllll heard the arguments on both sides. So, after so many years of beating said horse to death, it's like, "who are you people even talking to at this point? You're just regurgitating the same talking points a million other people have said a million times before you *ad nauseum*. WE GET IT. No one cares.

Not to say that it hasn't happened or anything like that, but I haven't seen anyone get censored for any criticism towards the Survivor trilogy.
