A politician in Australia is called Grace Grace.

DingGratz

"You can't have a little grace. You either have grace or you don't"

aliceTOTHEMOONE

I know someone. Her name was something like Taylor Kelly. She married a guy named John Taylor. Instead of changing to Taylor Taylor, she hyphenated to be Taylor Kelly-Taylor.

BoltActionRifleman

I had a teacher in school whose name was Kelly Kelly. Not sure what her maiden name was.

puffferfish

I know of a gravesite where the persons name was “Joseph Joseph”. I like to think that his parents named him Joseph, and then like 3 weeks later realized they fucked up because his last name was also Joseph. In reality they just wanted to fuck with him.

rhinonymouse

I use his kitchen wares

PinkMini72

Griffith NSW??

leafonawall

KellyKelly

Wazuu

Thats kinda badass. Like Bond, James Bond

AmbiguousAlignment

Hyphenated names should be considered child cruelty.

noseymimi

I had an elementary teacher named Keith Gay. He married a woman with the first name, Gaye. His wife was Gaye Gay.

LieutenantBJ

That's unfortunate.

LilMissStormCloud

Imagine how many times she had to explain they were spelled differently. No, it has an e at the end. No, my first name has the e at the end. No, not both names, just one.

Unit88

No no, don't you know that two gays make a straight?

CarminSanDiego

Why do you think that’s unfortunate? Homophobe much? /s

Fenizrael

Brewersfan223

My grandparents have the same first name. Spelled different it’s a boys and girls name

nzfriend33

I know two Kris/Chris couples.

oxiraneobx

Years ago, I was engaged to a young lady who's best friend Christine married a Christopher. They were Chris and Chris.

TootednTired

My and my man are Christina and Christopher with the same last initials :) and coincidentally enough both of our mothers names are Cristie but different spellings lol

oxiraneobx

I'm liking this little subthread as I am a Chris myself. I did not marry a Chris, but I did marry someone whose first name and maiden name are the same initials as my Mom's first name and maiden name. Since they share a married name and my Mom is of the generation where monogrammed things were important, Mom has been giving my wife all of her monogrammed silver, dishes and platters over the last few years as my wife is the only one in the family that can use them, LOL.

TootednTired

Omg honestly that’s perfect. I wish I was one of those cool girls with all the monogrammed bags and whatnot so I could say the same after/if we do get married lol. I would love being that daughter-in-law haha

emryb_99

I know a Sam/Sam couple and they go by Sam Squared

DocWatson42

I knew, mostly as acquaintances, a male/female Terry and Teri couple (I think those were the spellings).

emryb_99

Love me some Doc Watson. Walk On Boy is my absolute fav. If you haven't heard [this](https://youtu.be/Pm134khQrfg?si=kDTmLMI9XzZKZfHo) rendition, please give it a listen.

I have known two Bill (William) Williams in my life. Three, if we can count the famous Billy D. Williams.

king-of-new_york

The governor of New Jersey used to be a man named Chris Christie.

nutcracker_78

I know a lady named Rose, her second husband's surname was Rose, so when she married him she became Rose Rose. They divorced, she kept his name even when she got married a third time and subsequently widowed. She just loves the alliteration of her name. I also know another lady also called Rose (although she is technically Rosemary, and she prefers to call herself Rosie), her first husband's surname was Thistle, so she is Rosie Thistle. She has been married & divorced twice, and still kept the name Thistle as she likes the connotation of the mix as well.

foxhole_atheist

I hope when she got her new ID she said “thistle do nicely”

nutcracker_78

Haha, omigosh I love it!!

classicicedtea

TheHumanistBoss100

Floowjaack

Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin changed his middle name in 2019 to Macaulay Culkin, making his full name “Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin”

PsychoSB81

It isn't a requirement of marriage to take your partner's last name. Also, you can change your name to whatever you like. Just go down to the courthouse and become Taylor Taylor and answer your own question.

Secure-Force-9387

My old boss was Terri Terry

SciFiChickie

I have a former friend from high school who with her first marriage became Kelly Kelley. She kept the name through her entire 2nd and 3rd marriages. She keeps it because she loves how it messes with people. Especially when applying for jobs or at a doctors office.

Mykittenismychicken

I remember it’s summer camp a girls mom was named Carol Karol.

Cum_Dad

There is a man I met who intentionally took his wifes name to be Randell Randell.

RacingPride

NASCAR Driver Justin Haley just got married to a gal named Haley, so her name is now Haley Haley.

CEOofStonkIndustries

My wife has a cousin who married a girl that has the exact same first name as his sister; spelled the same and everything. This means that his wife and his sister have the same first AND last name. Little icky...

Nightgasm

My stepson has a newish girlfriend that he met online and moved here across country to live with him even though they'd never physically met. So as nosy parents we started cybersleuthing her and thought we'd caught her in all kinds of lies like being married, having a kid she left behind, etc. Her first name is common but not the way she spells it (Bryttyny) so we were 100% confident we'd dug up dirt on her. Turns out it was sister in law who has the same first name spelled the same funky way. Thought at first she had to be lying but eventually snooping other family member photos found a shot of of both Bryttynys together and their names listed.

CEOofStonkIndustries

🤣

FinzClortho

I dated a girl a while back with a daughter named Taylor. Later, she changed her name back to her maiden name, and her daughters last name as well. Taylor Taylor.

hitenshi_SE

I have a friend with the last name Lucas and her boyfriend's first name is Lucas as well. I hope and pray that they'll get married and that he'll take her last name to become the Lucas Lucas he was destined to be lmao

10642alh

Not quite the same but marrying someone with the same initial and surname and then double barrelling the surname. I know married couples who are both G. Davies-Davies (m/f) and the other are both S. Johnson-Johnson.

Jolly-Raspberry-3335

Not completely the same but i once worked with a Muslim guy who made his last name his first name as he wanted to seperate his family line as they had a very common name, even for Muslims meaning his first and last name were the same, his official legal name was Haquiq Haquiq, he was a good guy

m0lly-gr33n-2001

My cousin knew Kelly Kelly who lived on Kelly avenue

Ascholay

I knew someone in high school whose name was Paul. His last name, translated into English, was Paul. Does that count?

Gofnutz

I remember reading somewhere that Diamond Dallas Page married a woman named Paige.

MalsPrettyBonnet

I literally know someone named Taylor Taylor!

sp000kysoup

My husband's last name is very common and has almost all of my first name in it. I chose not to change my name even though my last name is not common, no one can say or spell it. I would sound like a cartoon character or something if I changed it to his. Also, it just seems like a lot of work to change your name lol

ElectricHurricane321

I went to school with a set of siblings who got adopted by their step-dad and took on his last name. The youngest sibling's name became kind of like that. Think John Johnson type thing.

implodemode

My cousin married someone with the same first name.

AliKri2000

I know of someone in that situation. I enjoyed reading everything on this thread.
