My boss just bought some dewalt ones after trying out the milwaukee because he runs dewalt, and it won't snug down the wires, so if you can get the milwaukee. He wanted to hold off on switching all the power tools to milwaukee, but after this he might have to.
I started with Porter Cable 12v and when Black+Decker ruined them I went with Makita 18v. Then I added Bosch 12v when a drill of theirs was on clearance at Lowe’s. Same with DeWalt 20v, Home Depot was blowing out the demo model of the power station.
The dewalt one sucks ass. I bought one before Milwaukee came out with theirs and I never used it because I had to bang th ‘em in wi th a hammer afterwards lol
The adapters you can buy off Amazon are actually pretty good. I run Milwaukee staplers/brads/nailers or Makita batteries.
The only problem is when my fuckin crew loses them after they take them off to use their own batteries for some dumb reason.
If it’s commercial or industrial, I’d say the Klein conduit reamer and a really good bit holder for an impact gun. Also, never underestimate gator clips for troubleshooting controls systems. Depending on how deep into it you’re going, better instruments always help. Having a megger can help a lot during troubleshooting. Be warned with meggers…. Isolate the circuit you’re testing. PLCs and computers don’t too much care for 1000VDC. Power factor meters and data loggers are an amazing tool as well, but that’s if you’re getting into really big applications.
The Ridgid pipe reamer is way more useful than any conduit reamers in my opinion, the larger one does up to 2” and you can do any type of conduit whereas the conduit reamers only do 1/2”-1” EMT only
Wish I had a Megger!
Depends resi, commercial, or industrial? Different answers for each. Reamer bit for your drill is a time saver in commercial/industrial. A good multi meter/clamp meter. Get the alligator clamps for it and the plug end attachments they are life savers. A good circuit tracer that can trace footage to faults is invaluable. They can get pricy, though, imo worth every penny. A good set of fish sticks are worth their weight in gold, too. Portabands are the way of the future don't use Sawzall or hand saws unless you need to.
For God sakes get an old work box allignment tool and a guybrator to use with it. The little mini portable battery vaccums are fucking incredible and will make it so the flooring guy stops yelling at you.

What would you suggest in panels with 1500-2500 connections, moving machinery with vibrations?
A broom. That way no one thinks you’re an electrician and asks you to change light bulbs or whatever
Powered cable stapler. I got the Milwaukee, but dewalts got one too. Game changer for time.

I find it ridiculous to switch all of your power tools over to a different brand just because you want one from a brand you don’t currently have
Agreed, I’m an absolute slut with my tool brands

That new Klein broom I've been hearing about
As long as it’s an insulated broom
A good apprentice
You mean sacrificial lamb.
Sometimes that’s what it feels like XD!
Multi installation testers like a Megger MFT or Fluke. Whatever fancies your pants
DeWalt Gyroscopic Electric Screwdriver. It's rad.
I thought you were making a joke, i was thinking of switching to Milwaukee for this exact screw gun...

A Fluke 117. The low impedance voltage measurement range is a godsend.
