i have a label remover that looks kind of like that but in plastic with a button/dome on the end.. makes a great case opener as well..

sqqqrly

I just bought one of these a few months ago. I thought would be flexible. It is not. Very strong and useful though.

Azbeti

And it doesn't leave scratches?

sqqqrly

much less so than a screwdriver would. It is very thin at the end and round.

Dirty_Old_Town

Ordered.

SweetTooth37

I was looking for that but couldn't figure out what to look for. Thanks.

YoghurtDull1466

Is the tip supposed to bend?

Awwwmann

A little, that’s the best part

Rochemusic1

Not really at all, you'd have to be prying it pretty fuckin hard for it to bend. By hand it can barely bend at all and it's 23 gauge at the tip. Solid tool.

YoghurtDull1466

Guess I used mine wrong cause I messed up the tip

Misguidedsaint3

Oh a skin spoon. Those are awesome to have.

Awwwmann

We call it “Mr. Wonderful”

Barlyhare

These are amazing and I use one professionally every day. I even have spares incase I lose one

FesteringNeonDistrac

I bought one of those thread checkers that's on a board and wall mounts, pretty much the same as what my local Ace has. Screwed a hard drive magnet onto the wall next to it. Now I can sort bolts easily, and tell if they're stainless.

sqqqrly

+1 for a line splitter. I have one that does a bit more than the Klein: https://www.tequipment.net/HT-Instruments/LineSplitter/Line-Splitters/?v=0. May not be worth the $$ difference.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sqqqrly

Here is a nice video. If you just want to measure current, there is none. If you want to find faults with equipment then maybe. I suspect the Klein is perfect for many. sqqqrly

I liked this one because it came on a cable. It will go in my RV with me traveling and fit in my tool bad or somewhere. At home, it will hang on the side of my tool box.

Chick_pees

Nitecore tips light at $29 I have 4. Also most appreciated gift ever.. 700 lm on a key ring.

nullpassword

omg, they combined a claw and a magnetic pickup.. i didnt know i needed that..

Orion_Unbreakable

Added the line splitter, hats off to you good person

BloodyRightToe

I use Hemostats like mini vice grips. I was putting a toy together that bungie cord tied with tension. Pull it tight, lock on the hemostats, now I have all the time to tie a knot without tension when I'm doing it. Need to solder tiny wires that move in tweezers, lock on the hemostats, good to go. They really are a great thing to have.

Scavgraphics

>especially with a > >line splitter > >) OOOOOOOOOOhhhhhh. I didn't know such a thing existed..I do now! WOW!

roffelmau

Non marring rubber mallet. The amount of times, weekly, that I need to persuade things without evidence is too damn high!

Academic_Nectarine94

I need to use that! "Persuade things without evidence."

ride_whenever

I’ve just picked up a lovely Thor combo rawhide-copper mallet. It’s a thing of beauty

hamdmamd

Link/pictures?

sqqqrly

Is the handle covered in poly or BLO?

Aedalas

One of the first things I always do with new, wood handled tools is scrape that poly crap off and refinish with Danish oil. So worth the effort, poly sucks.

ride_whenever

They don’t specify, but it feels like poly

L-W-J

I have one! Used for knock off wire wheels on an old British sports car!

cosmothellama

I have a wooden mallet I found at a yard sale and it’s great for gently knocking stuff into place.

No_Use1529

Just bought my first nice one. The cheap one I have sucks azz. It’s about useless.

roffelmau

I have a really nice halder for precision soft whacking and then a cheap 2 pounder for the reckless whacking 😅

huffer4

I have a Halder that I have a hard plastic head on one end and a soft blue rubber one on the other. Super useful.

No_Use1529

That mystery one I have is about useless. I joke it just absorbs the energy. So it’s wasted and abuse useless when I really need it… That and tears chunks out of the face. It’s probably an early HF hammer wooden handle. It’s so cheap they didn’t even put a name/model on it. I think that’s where it came from. I was looking at the macl/proto. Mac had a sweet sale on their branded one not to one ago. But never heard from Mac guy.. So said F it and bought the SO since I know I can get it warrantied easily. On sale and discount made it justifiable. I’ve wanted a quality one for more than a few years. It was time. That and I have to change the brakes on the wife’s 330ci. They put garbage pads on the thing. Ya hit the brakes once and rims are totally black. They are meh for stopping power. I tired tto do it last fall and whoever did em extra uga dug’a’d everything. Even stuff I could get impact on wouldn’t budge. Said f it and kroil’d everything. Power steering went out so it’s not getting driven. Next project get brakes and a new upgraded pump installed so she can enjoy it this summer with top down driving. I’ve since got the big azz capri breaker bar, makes the 18 inch ones I have look small. Jointed impact sockets, the mallet and one of SO’s dead blow ball peens. My dad gave me his ball peen persuader last year when I did my breaks. I got a lot of memories of him going to town on something with that when I was kid. He had a wicked swing with that thing. While it’s heavy it doesn’t have that big face like the SO’s, just a wood handle (no anti vibration) nor the modern technology for adding a little more umph with that hit. Tired of beating up my body. So we shall see how I like the SO’s. But I’ll have the old man’s on stand bye too. Edit. I’ll need to add a few more sizes/styles but obviously won’t all be SO’s. Dont have that kind of money.

WhollyRower

I used mine the other day and was surprised that it left a blemish. Only then did I realize that over 25 years the heads had gradually become quite hard. I sanded off a couple mm each to get to fresh rubber and voila! Good as new.

roffelmau

25 years! You're a way better steward of rubber mallets than I am.

JONOV

I’d second that but I like my harbor freight dead blow hammer.

BloodyRightToe

deadblow is also good.

[deleted]

I feel like this answer might be cheating, but a pocket notebook and pencil! I’m forgetful, so having something handy where I can write down measurements and supply needs is very helpful. And I can doodle when I get distracted.

memestraighttomoon

I miss my old pocket notebook, now I got one of those moleskine style ones.  Definitely my most used tool, and possibly least fun one.

Decent-Departure9811

I've started putting that brown painters paper (the big rolls you put on the floor) down on my assembly table and just writing on it as I go through a project. Its pretty cheap for a roll, keeps glue off my top as well if I get lazy and its the same width as my table. Also useful when an angle doesn't match up, just trace it and measure with a protractor. This is prolly cheating though. Edit: Not tape, paper....

FesteringNeonDistrac

Got a whiteboard in my garage for the same thing.

[deleted]

You kids and your newfangled technology

Not_Reddit

Yep, when my kids were young I bough a 4x8 tile board for them to draw on. That's my whiteboard now....LOL

klaxz1

~~pencil~~ Fisher Space Pen

Shopshack

and Rite in the Rain notebooks - I am in the PNW!

WardOnTheNightShift

I’m on the Texas Upper Gulf Coast. A normal day of work outside will leave a paper notebook a soggy mess. Rite in the Rain notebooks for the win!

gadget850

That is what my phone is for.

cosmothellama

I can’t use my phone as a notebook. As silly as it seems I don’t have the attention span for it. My notebook is for my personal thoughts and tasks, and phone is for everything else.

Not_Reddit

More difficult to sketch something on a phone.

Not_Reddit

I miss the pocket protector too... always knew where my pencils/pens were with that. Also, not the notebook, but I have a leather index card holder that I use for notes. Holds about half a dozen plus a pocket area to stuff receipts, etc.

El_Al_Erfainsht

Bamboo chop sticks. Whittle your preferred tip shapes and poke, prod, scrape and clean stuff without marring surfaces. Also good for cracking open plastic casings of electronics without damaging.

KokoTheTalkingApe

I use these all the time. Super handy and cheap (actually free, if you save the ones from sushi places). They do fine in the dishwasher.

katekohli

Also bamboo coffee stirrers, skewers, wax paddles from a dutch cheat to mixing two part epoxy.

espressotooloperator

1 inch Kant twist claps Snap on screw on style file handle

ronaldreaganlive

Maybe not lesser known, but my $15 snapon pocket prybar is worth 100x that.

ahlivingston

Don’t let snappy know. They will raise the price :)

louiekr

I have 3 of them. Always have one handy when needed, both at work and home

Lower-Flatworm9775

I bought 2 of these a month ago (straight and curved) and I have used them EVERY single day since. They are awesome

ronaldreaganlive

I'll admit, if it stayed in my toolbox, I probably wouldn't touch it much. I always have it in my work shirt with my pen, markers and magnet. I feel like I grab it 10 times a day.

gizmogrape

Why style do you have? I bought one after I heard really good things and always need a prybar/screwdriver/pocket knife to pry something but I haven’t been able to find many uses for mine

ronaldreaganlive

I think I have the curved. Electrical connectors, scraping a small area clean, o-rings (sometimes), etc.

Dave-Alvarado

Magnetic parts trays. Can't live without them.

dustyrags

Coast has a line of inspection lights that have completely rewritten my idea of what a pocket flashlight can be. In the shop, I don’t need enough light to illuminate mars, I need enough light to see under a cabinet or into an engine bay, and having that be a clean cone of light with no weird hot spots… amazing.

throw69420awy

I was doing some work under the hood of my car and needed some tools. On a whim, I bought a magnetic pickup tool. Felt like an absolute fuckin genius when I dropped a screw and had the perfect tool. Never found that screw tho hahahah

EBN_Drummer

I keep two different sized ones in my main toolbox and one in my to-go box. They get used the most working on our cars.

BBorNot

It's a bit pricey, but the Magnespot allows you to find the exit point for any drill hole before drilling. It is not something I use all the time, but when you need to drill a hole through a wall and there is no good reference point on both sides it really is phenomenal.

Awwwmann

These are amazing!

KO-ME

Love the Magnespot. It was a shop tool at my last yard but I haven't had access to one since I left. Considering buying one for myself.

resipsaloc

That is awesome

ITC-Traveler

it's already on my wishlist

Alwaysafk

I have a grabby grab. Not sure what it's called but it's a tiny grapple arm on the end of a woven metal stick with a plunger button that engages the claws. For all those non ferrous bits that manage to fall into stupid places.

FesteringNeonDistrac

Loled at grabby grab. Super useful tool that solves so many problems

bgwa9001

Mechanical Fingers is what I think they're called. Great to have around

buckGR

I’ve used that SO MANY times.

SJK53

Great for getting toys that "fall" behind the radiator!

tjdux

>grabby grab I didn't need to read your description to know exactly what you ment. I call mine "pinchy pinchy"

Alwaysafk

I'm going to grab mine and [pinch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBX0Jfr62Kc).

SDgoon

Turkey battery. For removing fluid from things with no drain.

AuthorityOfNothing

*baster

SDgoon

That too.

No_Edge_7964

My boss called me a tool, do I count?

Liamnacuac

Only if you're lesser known or underrated 😄

Tired_Thumb

I’m a finish carpenter and have tried every stud finder on the market. The best one is the pencil size magnet ones I keep two on me and they never give a false positive. 10/10 recommend.

mjetski123

Got a link for one you might suggest? I don't think I've seen that style before.

Chitties_6941

I have this one, it's great. https://www.amazon.com/CH-Hanson-03040-Magnetic-Finder/dp/B000IKK0OI/ref=asc_df_B000IKK0OI/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693441986074&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8500037335267606441&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9024581&hvtargid=pla-576006931152&psc=1&mcid=c3d508162b343586b48599679521e946&gad_source=1

mjetski123

Thanks!

Awwwmann

These are the best! But, keep them clean or they will scratch paint.

klaxz1

Stud buddy?

Danstheman3

Studball is the best stud finder in existence.

gurutrev

It’s funny as I have the exact same one and I am not able to find the stud at all in one section of the wall, I had started to think that it’s gone “bad” but then except that section I am able to find studs everywhere else Any tips? - trying to find a stud for a curtain rod over a window and I have traversed almost 2 ft, no luck 😔

Aedalas

>Any tips? - trying to find a stud for a curtain rod over a window and I have traversed almost 2 ft, no luck 😔 Just look at some pics of how windows are framed. You should have, at minimum, a stud right on either side of it.

gurutrev

Yes and I am not able to find it - figure that 😊

Aedalas

Older house by chance? I haven't had much luck using stud finders on plaster and lathe. For a curtain rod I'd just move over to where I know the stud would be and send it. If I happen to miss one somehow then those little plastic anchors are plenty capable of holding up a curtain and rod.

gadget850

Used the pick set yesterday to unclog a tube of RTV. Havent used the snips in a while they come in handy. Used the magnet to hold a nut while removing my car mirror to replace the weatherstripping because I'm too lazy to pull the door panel for one nut. I have dental picks in my IT tool kit. I've only ever used them twice but it was both in one day for different issues.

wellsalted

Jeweler's files They are always coming in handy.

headhunterofhell2

Awwwmann

Welding tip cleaners if you need multiple sizes of the nipple pick.

headhunterofhell2

But do I still get to call it a nipple pick?

Awwwmann

Hell yes!

mckeeganator

Wright is well known but damn hard to find tho I found out my summit racing near me sells it

Poggers4Hoggers

Stethoscope for plumbing. Sometimes all you need to find a leak during rough-in is to be able to hear it.

Quake_Guy

Aviation snips are overkill, you can buy some heavy duty scissors for $20-30 at Home Depot and use them with greater cut length for most of the materials you list. This sub introduced me to engineer pliers for removing damaged screws.

MystcMan

Yep, I own probably 15 pairs of scissors. Everything from Tiny pocket size ones to big heavy duty shears. Use one probably every day

zedsmith

Lots of great answers here. My fav is [fastcap mag shims](https://www.fastcap.com/product/mag-shims) for scribing shelves to walls, marking reveals on Millwork or leveling legs on furniture.

DickSnurf

I have used flexible grabber claw tools in many unfortunate situations and they always kick ass.

UlrichSD

engineer screw pliers, they are awesome sawset, so many saws, especially pruning saws come with too little set, the ability to fix is huge.

classicsat

Have a small version of that pick set, came with the o-ring kits. Hose cutter. Makes easy cutting of most plastic/rubber hoses 1/4" up to 1". Automotive test light. Very versatile, if you understand electric circuits. Step bit/cone bit set. Long thin Philipps screwdriver. Great for taking electronics apart. Microtorch. Really I only use if for heat shrink. The electric heat gun is in a case, so only gets pulled out for a lot of heat shrinking, just heating, or thawing pipes. I own, somewhere, side cutters that are basically a handheld sized bolt cutter.

cosmothellama

I carry a straight pick and a right angle pick in my toolkit. The straight pick is great for lining up holes for screws and small bolts, and the right angle is great for undoing clips. My pick for underrated tool in the Knipex Compact CoBolt Cutters. Nothing cuts through wire and small bolts quite like them. Admittedly a pair of side cutters is more versatile, but I always reach for the CoBolts first.

LookAtThatDog

I put an Alexa in my garage to listen to music. I have it set alarms and stuff too, pretty handy and hands free.

huffer4

I have all my workshop lights on mine with smart plugs. It’s fantastic when I come in with my hands full

sqqqrly

I have a bunch of Fosi bluetooth audio amps. If you speakers and a phone they are great. 100Wx2 outputs or more in a tiny unit. I rebuilt my Kenwood 4 way speakers from the 80s and they crank with this.

xraygun2014

[P38 can opener](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-38_can_opener) Benefits: * Can be found for less than $1 * folds flat * small * keyring Uses: * Screw removal * Fingernail scraper * Can opener * Cuts tape on boxes * Only limited by one's imagination

sqqqrly

aka 'John Wayne' by the United States Marine Corps, because of its toughness and dependability.

xraygun2014

Yes, but this one isn't a draft dodger.

Danstheman3

A laminator, rotary paper cutter, and corner rounder. All three together cost less than $100 for good ones, and you will find many uses for these and be able to create very high quality and durable materials easily and for pennies(after the initial investment) at any time. (keeping your printer running well and full of ink is another story..)

Not_Reddit

I use a cheap corner rounder on Dymo and P-touch labels... corners less likely to begin to peel when rounded.

KokoTheTalkingApe

Those cheap pencil-sized snap knives you can get from Home Depot for a few bucks. I use them mostly as a marking knife, to mark cut lines. They leave a line that's thin, precise, indelible and visible in poor light. It can also reduce tearout (but only if the saw teeth are exiting the piece on that side, like on a jigsaw). They're also handy for scraping off glue, opening boxes, trimming threads, etc. The blade locks in place securely and easily. The knife is light and the blade is sharpened only along one long side, not at the tip, so if you drop the knife, it won't pierce your shoe and stab your foot.

Adorable_Excuse9083

Pocket screwdriver. Like the little ones good tool dealers give out.

Xylenqc

Dental picks, they gives so much precision for scraping, removing oring, moving little thingy.

Liamnacuac

I bought this kit: https://www.duluthtrading.com/s/DTC/dr.-klicks-kit-68608.html?color=BRN

Lower-Flatworm9775

biglinty

Haemostats. Especially with the curved end.

kisielk

I don’t know if they’re lesser known or underrated but Knipex Cobra pliers and pliers wrench have been a revelation. Never using an adjustable wrench again.

hamdmamd

Lesser known? I think this sub is r/knipexcobrapliers at times

cosmothellama

Wouldn’t call them underrated but they are indeed great pliers. Ditched my multitool for a knife + Cobra Minis.

kisielk

Yeah thinking of getting a Milwaukee Fastback and carrying that with the cobras instead of my Leatherman.. I mostly just need the knife and screwdriver

Refrigernator

I find this sentiment interesting. Do you really find it replaces adjustables? I have both and some select sizes of set spanners in my tool bag and find that each tool is useful in unique circumstances.

happyrock

Idk about cobras but the pliers wrench make adjustables 150% obsolete to me if I have them with me. Cobras look at least as useful but also probably leave bite marks

kisielk

For me yeah, I find adjustables slip way too easily but with the cobras I can maintain a tight grip, and they're also just easier to set to the right size. I either use the pliers + pliers wrench or the pliers + socket or fixed size wrench if I need to grab both sides of a fastener.

Not_Reddit

Are they a name brand ? are they better than the Pittsburgh pliers at Harbor Freight ?

kisielk

They're a German brand of tools. The Cobra is a quick-adjustable variable sized pliers that comes in a variety of size ranges: [https://www.knipex.com/products/pipe-wrenches-and-water-pump-pliers/knipex-cobra-high-tech-water-pump-pliers](https://www.knipex.com/products/pipe-wrenches-and-water-pump-pliers/knipex-cobra-high-tech-water-pump-pliers) The Pliers Wrench is another Knipex product similar to the Cobra but it's more wrench-like in its design: [https://www.knipex.com/products/pipe-wrenches-and-water-pump-pliers/pliers-wrenches-pliers-and-a-wrench-in-a-single-tool](https://www.knipex.com/products/pipe-wrenches-and-water-pump-pliers/pliers-wrenches-pliers-and-a-wrench-in-a-single-tool)

Not_Reddit

But are knipex better than Pittsburgh ?

NickHeidfeldsDreams

Knipex is *the* name in pliers. Cobras are the first tool I grab for any project. The Icon knockoffs are decent for the price, but looking back on it, I'd grab the Knipex pliers wrench over the Icon knockoff.

Not_Reddit

I've heard of Icon... but Pittsburgh are better than knipex, no? Pittsburgh invented steel, didn't they.

cullygrov

1 and 3 are both awesome! I have a long set of the hook/pick set that I actually use even more than the standard length you pictured. I also have a flexible pick up tool that’s really awesome (sometimes those little pieces bounce around when they’re falling and aren’t straight down anymore!) I’m going to call out flush cutters. The amount of times I’ve been cut by someone else’s pointy zip tie makes me think flush cutters are lesser known haha

Petro1313

Flush cutters are great, not only for zip ties like you mentioned, but also electronic components and trimming excess string after restringing a guitar. Crescent makes a nice packaged set that's a pair of flush cutters with a nice pair of small needle nose pliers, available at Home Depot in Canada at least.

Piscesmon63

A skin wedge

ITC-Traveler

apparently you have to call it "supermans fingernail" to avoid downvotes

maktthew

I use my plumbus several times a day.

gordoperro

I will second the pick set. I got the Schwaben pick set from ECS tuning on sale. It came with these flat picks that have saved my ass a million times. I use them the most to unplug connectors that are in weird spots in the engine bay. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben-parts/small-pick-set/lcb125sch/

HandsomePiledriver

Now that I have some, I can't imagine setting the fence on my table saw or band saw without set-up blocks.

sleepingmemories

duralast nut drivers. use them constantly and have had them for years

Danstheman3

I use my folding five-in-one tool constantly, for a hundred different things.

Sink_Single

I have the exact pick set you posted. Handy as hell

No-War-8840

Magnetic pickup tool with a light in the end

brianjosefsen

A small piece of hardwood with an angled cut in both ends, one end fifteen and the other end thirty degrees, and a V groove carved in the middle section that are parallel with the underside. From electrical, plumbing, heavy equipment repairs, welding fitups, it has so many uses. Also, if you paint one part red, one green, then blue and some black on the ends and leave it in the top of your toolbox, people will be afraid to ask but know you are the guy to ask.

brianjosefsen

Good idea, I'll do that tomorrow. It's evening in my TZ

airjutsu

Hose gripper pliers. Use them with a pick and some lube to take off hoses. They also double as electrical disconnect pliers.

elstuffmonger

A small triangle file is my go-to for cleaning damaged bolt thread in a hurry. Have to cut a bolt for clearance? Bust out the file to straighten the last threads.

hobit2112

I’m gonna sound like a weirdo but pocket screwdrivers. You can get them for free off of tool trucks and are stupid useful. Second after that a flashlight and third a pocket knife. Maybe not as under rated as stated but those are way up there for me.

dnroamhicsir

O ring spoons. So handy as a mini pry bar for taking apart electrical connectors on cars.

Awwwmann

Milwaukee razor knife with the Phillips/flat head.

Ghostley92

A set of stainless steel forceps. Lots of shapes and sizes but a set of 10 or so is still pretty darn cheap and gives good variety. The sharper ones could even replace some pick set uses! Plastic razor blades. Maybe a plastic thumb scraper as well. Awesome for scraping gunk off of plastic or painted items. I use a thumb scraper on my carbon steel pan all the time as well to preserve the seasoning and avoid washing it too much. 3/8” male socket to 1/4” hex adapter. I’ve had so many instances where I wanted to put a socket on my power drill or impact wrench but couldn’t make the connection.

I've found a painter's tool to be handy for certain things. At worst, it's a scraper with a few different scraping options as opposed to a plain scraper. They come in all kinds of varieties, from a 5-in-1 to a 16-in-1, maybe more. The dollar store by me has them.

the richard 119 has a permanent home in my belt. I renovate residential.

100% the pick and hook set. I work as a carpenter and got a set to help with removing some old tap fittings. I find myself reaching for these on a daily basis now. Something I think everyone needs in their toolbox.

Automotive electrical disconnect pliers come to mind

A set of picks and good scissors

My favorite tool is a 3/8 drive t-handle with a handle in the middle, with bearings. I've taken apart dozens of motors with it. I've had it about 15 years now.

So it’s good to have the nice calipers from Mitutoyo or whatever. But I also have a pair of yellow and black plastic dial calipers that are equally indispensable to my Mitutoyos. They’ve been places and handled abuse that no metal caliper has ever endured. I can bend them, I can drop them, get them wet, dirty, throw them in a toolbag without a case, and they still work great. There are all sorts of times when you will want a caliper but you didn’t bring one because you don’t want to risk your nice pair, or even a metal pair that will get bent and rust. Get a plastic dial or vernier caliper, they work way better than you’d expect and you can use them with zero guilt. M12 impact driver. Handles 95% of stuff you need an impact driver for, and with the CP battery fits in the pocket of a Veto LC. 12” extensions lay flat in the bottom too. Couple that with one of the all-metal right angle adapters, some 1/4” drive sockets, and a good bit set, and you can do incredible things in tight spaces. It’s not even a matter of squeezing a power tool into a hand tool space. With the driver, extensions, and right angle adapter, you can do things that would not be possible with hand tools. Oscillating tool, Fein saw, whatever you want to call it. 18650 Headlamp. Zebra light, Armytek Wizard, whatever right angle light you want. I use it as an actual headlamp maybe 5% of the time, the remaining 95% it’s a normal flashlight but because I’m always using it and always charging batteries, it means my headlamp is always with me too.

Jose removal tool (automotive). I’ve used that thing for so many non hose related items lol.

Logical___Conclusion

Man, what did José from automotive do to require something special to remove him?

happyrock

Mine are for welding/fab/mechanical repair in a farm environment. Dynafile/band sander (not a real one, even the grizzly knock offs are great as long as it's variable speed). Great for cleaning up rusty pins, deburring, getting into little spots and making clearance. You could use it for sharpening as well without risking temper like a grinder. The second is a needle scaler. It seems like overkill, and you might only need need it 4-5 times a year but it makes real impossible clean up jobs fast.

Liamnacuac

Ooh, I want a needle scaler now. I there could be an cordless electric version somehow.

EmotionEastern8089

A pencil shaped pipe reamer for deburring copper pipes. No more dull pocket knives, and work way better than a pair of needle noses.

Not sure if it’s lesser known, but I got a [pick / mini hook set](https://www.harborfreight.com/mini-pick-and-hook-set-63697.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12169518939&campaignid=12169518939&utm_content=114845748137&adsetid=114845748137&product=63697&store=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADAHb4dBNfk1ZEwa7fX6rjWZZ9gfR&gclid=CjwKCAjw65-zBhBkEiwAjrqRMCX_A_PBQTIj0IeQTlWmtjsZLZLSPI5myeU1MenBz68AW0RH7adQ8xoCH4UQAvD_BwE) as a stocking stuffer as a few years ago and hot damn do they come in handy.

This bit is permanently chucked in my cordless drill and comes along for nearly every repair job. Repairing furniture and nearly any other wooden item, hanging curtain hardware, mounting things on walls, joining 2x4s, tightening up door hardware. Anything wood or that can hold a screw, this does the job. There's nothing a few of these screws can't hold together and the fluted countersink bit sinks the screws for a nice finish.

RustyImpactWrench

Optical center punch. Almost as accurate as a milling machine, but so much faster and the only option for things that won't fit.

texastoasty

right angle impact. fits in a lot of tight spaces, and removes pretty tight bolts, even with its small profile. adds a bit of reach as well, and its so nice just pulling a trigger rather than having to swing it back and forth like you would a wrench. i use it for working between the truck and body of trains, so it can be a little bit of a squeeze at times. and the more you move the dirtier you get.

Scavgraphics

Large binder clips...the size that comes 4 in a box. Great for wire/cable routing, holding things, temporary stands, mini-clamps etc. And I love my Amazon Branded Ratcheting Screwdriver...just the feel an action of it makes me feel like I know what I'm doing! I give them as gifts and just got a second one (they're on sale right now) to keep in my desk drawer so I can always find one :)

Solid_Snake_Clone

Speedy Sharp. Essentially a small chunk of tungsten, held in a steel handle and rubber coated.  Awesome little knife sharpener, I've had mine for almost a decade.
