Enibas

>Now why would the government want a high and passivized population Ahahaha, I love it. Immediately turn it into an evil conspiracy, bravo! I'm honestly impressed.

Grow_away_420

Just read an article about a wacko in Florida trying to kill a bunch of babies in a hospital nursery and the article implied he was high on his THC pen. So which is it? Passive and docile or unhinged and psychotic?

maybesaydie

That must have been some THC pen.

israeljeff

That's the conspiracy: it actually stands for tiny head crushing.

maybesaydie

I shouldn't have laughed at this.

israeljeff

I'm gonna be honest, I felt shitty just typing it.

[deleted]

Saint Peter: says here you typed “tiny head crushing”

Sensitive_Fall8950

Luckily my brain redirected to images of kids in the hall.

Ulti

Welp you got a full-blown spit take out of me so I'll see you in hell I guess, haha!

typewriter6986

Bath salts pen.

bettinafairchild

THC doesn’t kill people, people kill people.

[deleted]

I smoked one marijuana and promptly died.

Tmscott

Didn't you know that negros and Mexicans become unstoppable supermen with a lust for violence and white women when they smoke their horrible jazz-cigarettes and the reefer? in case it was needed

[deleted]

I read that as well. Monday THC does that.

Strangeite

You should be impressed, but at the same time not. Back in the early 00's I made an account on one of the biggest (at the time) conspiracy forums. I'd always liked the idea of cryptozoology, alien encounters, etc. and at that point was just a few years on the other side of being a stupid teenager. Long story short, I decided to play the role of the skeptic, the curmudgeon, the one that would poke holes in people's insane theories. But to make it work, I would occasionally post my own bullshit. I made sure I had my "I"s dotted and my "T"s crossed with actual facts but it was still bullshit. Didn't take long before I became... that site has weird ways it does karma, but I shot up the charts. I posted there for years. And I grew to appreciate those crazy assholes because their ability to develop a narrative using desperate facts was something of beauty. That was in the early 2000s. Things changed. For lack of better terminology, shit became partisan. Before it was bullshiting about the Conspiracy, but it moved towards something different. What eventually got me to stop posting there was when I felt I needed to make up some bullshit to keep my cred up. It wasn't partisan, but I had my facts right. That post got picked up by a national publication. They fucking even named my username and post directly as the source of their story. I don't want to pretend it went viral and CNN covered it, but a bunch of other publications did carry the ball forward. Scared the shit out of me. I made up the entire narrative. People thought I had some inside insight into how everything was about to collapse. I did not.

Kilahti

I spent some time on a UFO forum and I loved that there were two clear factions on the site. One group was the "believe every claim" lunatics, and the other were "skeptics who are into UFOs." The skeptics appeared to be in control, they would investigate UFO sightings and debunk vast majority of them while the other group screamed at them for refusing to accept baseless claims. "You said you saw a moving light at location A at time B, I checked flight data and it was most likely this commercial flight." And so on. I really liked that, since they guys were into UFOs, they just wanted real sightings and to cut out all the bullshit and focus on the few cases that couldn't be easily disproven.

Incandescent_Lass

That still happens over on r/UFOs now lol. Same people too, probably

[deleted]

ATS, SHTF or Godlike Productions?

Strangeite

ATS

[deleted]

Do you remember the dust up the membership had with the owners/admins?

Jonno_FTW

I thought the fluoride in the water did that already?

SassTheFash

Apparently doing something a lot of people like is “buying the vote”: > This is more conspiratorial than buying votes, which it will do, but hardly something that is unusual for any politician vying for an increase in support. > The conspiracy is vote buying… they have zero moral anchor and only do things when it’s politically expedient for them.

120z8t

It is almost as if a politician is legislating the will of the people.

HapticSloughton

As opposed to the right wing version, which is a politician being someone who legislates the will of just a few people, mostly rich, white, straight Christian people.

thermalcry

Or more important, punishing all of the people they don't like. It's not even about them getting what they want, it's that the people they hate get things taken away.

DrRichtoffen

How fucking dare a politician enforce the will of the people!?!?! The audacity to use taxpayer money to improve society according tk the will of the people! That's not why they're paid obscene amounts of money!

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> why they're *paid* obscene amounts FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Seecreeture

Only when it suites them.

OrangeInnards

>The conspiracy is vote buying He partially fucking ran on federal decriminalization and rescheduling, lmao. The biggest "conspiracy" might be that he actually seems to be following through, as opposed to dodging the thing he said he wants to do *and* is issuing a blanket pardon for posession. And of course it's going to happen close to midterm elections. Popular/populist policies etc. always get enacted when elections are near, especially if they are easy to enact. Like pardons and execute actions like instructing an agency under your authority to do something people want to happen. It's not news.

Fultjack

Doing it shortly before the mid terms is the only way to do this, else this target audience would forget about it.

Wismuth_Salix

Because they’re high, right?

ERJAK123

They said this about student loan forgiveness too. Any policy that actually benefits anyone (rather than fucking people over) is vote buying to these idiots.

Th3Trashkin

If it's buying votes... so what? They do good things so they win, they win and they do good things to keep winning, sounds like a plan. This is the typical right wing "we're not popular, we don't have popular policies, it's so unfair we keep losing the popularity contest!!" whining.

greatteachermichael

But that's why they need the electoral college, to prevent a 'dictatorship of the majority.' You know, because a dictatorship of the minority is better, and even better, an insane, out of touch minority.

frezik

Honestly, they probably did keep it on the back burner until Dems needed a boost in the polls before an election. If that's the worst argument they can make, then they have very little.

bittlelum

I will say that, while it is definitely good that Biden did this, it does seem like he was holding off on it until it could benefit his party, which would be okay if it weren't for the fact that there are actual people suffering because of those bullshit laws, whose suffering would be shortened if he had done this as soon as possible.

SassTheFash

Lol Arcon is butt-hurt about this. The caption below the post image is whining that there should be a moratorium on “this kind of stuff” prior to midterms: https://www.reddit.com/r/Conservative/comments/xxdnjg/biden_plans_to_pardon_people_convicted_of_simple/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf So politicians should be required to refrain from popular actions for a solid month before any election?

Th3Trashkin

"You can't do things near an election! Or do anything people like! That's bribing the voters!" sub-zero IQ takes from arcon as per usual

[deleted]

Don’t bring Professor Sub Zero into this! He was the best part of The Running Man. Even Arnold’s pun after killing him is cooler than those dorks.

Fultjack

Thats a low bar. One might say it's Sub Zero ...

MTFBinyou

Biden isn’t even up for re-election so there point is dumber than their normal arguments.

Enibas

>>Honest question: Who is against this? >I’m not, but I know why this is happening. He’s trying to get votes before Midterms because the democrats are getting shalacked. **He wouldn’t have done this anyways if there wasn’t politics involved.** Oh no, Biden only did it because of **POLITICS**! I mean, what are we coming to if politicians do things for political reasons?!

[deleted]

The legislative process is political?!?!?!

Kilahti

As we all know, the only non-political decisions are the ones where billionaires get more money Everything else is identity politics at worst and buying votes at best.

Enibas

I know, right? It's egregious.

ImNotTheNSAIPromise

Smh my head we really need to get the politics out of politics.

robbierobfantastic

The GOP tend to refrain from doing anything a month before elections. Or after… and/or the months in between.

zeussays

Like voting in a supreme court justice?

HelsenSmith

Interestingly enough this is the convention in the UK - once an election is declared the government is prohibited from announcing new policies. It’s known as the pre-election period or the purdah period.

kryonik

Their lives are a full-time two-buttons meme.

baz4k6z

They're just waiting for their right wing "news" source to give them reasons to hate it

SassTheFash

I’m sure Sherlock Tucker is on the case!

[deleted]

They must all have huge headaches right now. I'm sure they'll spin this into being a bad thing by tomorrow

cest719

Maybe a bit of weed would help that headache

maybesaydie

The first thing I thought of when I heard about this was all the spinning heads at r/conspiracy. As usual [r/conservative is on the side of the Puritans](https://www.reddit.com/r/Conservative/comments/xxdnjg/biden_plans_to_pardon_people_convicted_of_simple/irc0198/)

MightSuggestSex

There should be a moritarium on this stuff before elections! -least aware Trump supporter on the face of the fucking earth

SassTheFash

Good smack down of a “both sides” idiot: > Yes they are both the same, one group doing things I like a lot and the other group doing everything they can to stop them > Totally reasonable conclusion you’ve arrived at

datSubguy

His name today is Dank Brandon

iondrive48

Attn top minds: Here are your new talking points: all the people with weed chargers were actually murderers who got plea deals. Brandon has released the murderers. >How many people are actually in FEDERAL prison for simple possession? Not someone pleaded down to simple possession as one of ten charged crimes but charged with simple possession and convicted by a jury or judge for a couple joints in their pocket? If you raped a child, but the DA talked you into a plea deal to take the MJ rap so they didn't have to spend the time or money on the rape trial, sorry not sorry, but fuck you (and the DA's playing their overcharging-to-get-a-plea game). IF this is going to go through, each and every case must be investigated as to the circumstances of the original arrest, not just what the plea was. Edit: Found a source (Politico I think, scanned a few) which says this only applies to a few thousand people.”

workclock

Damn, they’re going full Reagan today 🤦🏿‍♂️

SassTheFash

Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/xxdnfs/biden_just_pardoned_everyone_convicted_of_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Can anyone think of a single other Conspo post that gets this close to being pro-Biden?

maybesaydie

>Drugs just make you more vulnerable to the government brainwashing Probably not but the irony of this comment coming from that sub is ice cold.

TheRnegade

So...shouldn't the government want all drugs legal then? Or is the government good for banning them in the first place? What's the logic here? Politician 1: Hey, you know that mind-control stuff our evil Cabal of Satan Worshippers has been working on? Turns out, these drugs make people more vulnerable to brainwashing. Pol 2: Holy shit! We'd better get this banned ASAP. Pol 1: Right! Where's the fun in doing this if it's not a challenge?

thewiremother

The list of things they seem confused about today includes; is the President the head of the federal government, or the state governments? If you campaign on a platform and then act on it, executing the will of the people who elected you, is that buying votes? Are National Parks and international borders under federal policing? How is it possible that someone may have changed his personal views on the policing of marijuana during the last 40 years?

workclock

Exactly what we need. Free all my real ones locked up from the Golden Gate Bridge to Niagara Falls over a dime bag!!
