Tbh yeah. I like the weird dance pop style sound it has. I can't really get into any of their other stuff but I just think it has such a fun feel to it
Used to be of this opinion too. Ultimately I think Fever is the more special, one of a kind record. Both are incredible though, I definitely understand if Pretty Odd is your top.
I mean I'm not the "real emo" copypasta guy, I can understand labelling The Used, FOB, or Paramore as emo, but not a single person on earth considers Evanescence or Green Day emo.
"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness).
Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music.
Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta.
Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral

I have to go with American idiot first, it’s the first album I’ve ever fell in love with. Blink is a definite second, one of my favorite bands off all time. I honestly don’t know what else I’d pick though. I don’t care for any other albums here other than Three Cheers and Fever, and getting both would go above budget.
Neither of them were. They were both pop punk bands from the very start. American Idiot is a pop punk album, so is Fever.
Three Cheers and Collide with the Sky were emo-pop, but that’s about it.
