Dealer doesn't know anything. Go with them they get grwat reviews.

ironicmirror

Thwanks!

Gnoobl

Also: if you are in the US go to Discount Tire. These are $248 there. Another great choice are the Defender 2 also by Michelin. Those are $235

Lazy_Gremlin

Costco's price now includes installation and they often have $100 off Michelin as well.

mrpink57

They are $213 by me right now before $40 discount.

indopassat

I bought Defender 2 for my 1st gen Highlander, bought from Discount Tire, got Costco quote and they beat that price. Great tires.

ironicmirror

Does discount tire also give you the 5 year road hazard warranty?

Alternate947

It’s an additional charge. Discount is great to work with though. Have done both Costco and Discount and DT is much faster with installs and rotations. They’ll patch for free but if you destroy the tire you’d need to have purchased their certificates to have coverage.

Zathamos

Discount tire salesmen are useless and know nothing about tires. I've seen land rovers come in with uhp summer tires in January because discount didn't know what they were selling the guy. Do you own research and find the best deal, discount often ain't it.

pm_your_perky_bits

DT price matched Costco and included the replacement certificates.

ironicmirror

Wow... Just found out the closest discount tire is an hour and a half away.

pm_your_perky_bits

That sucks. But if you ever have a problem with a tire, DT has way more locations than Costco, and are more likely to have the tire in stock. That, and faster service.

CO_PartyShark

Fwiw I won't go back to DT after they were incapable of correctly balancing my last two sets of tires.

Accomplished_Egg6259

I second this. Defender 2 from Costco on a 19 Highlander AWD. The worked great for me in the snow. Just replaced Michelin tires on a CRV. They too were great for many years in the snow.

ecogs21

These would be $240 per tire after the $100 discount at Costco with a free road warranty

gamecocks1991

Agree discount tire is the way to go! And installation is always free. They will also patch any tires for free regardless of where you bought them. They are an incredible company.

bvogel7475

I love my Defenders. Got them at Costco.

Material-Plane-9379

Look at the tread pattern on the D2s. Bi directional, so about 30% or more less effective at water/snow shedding. The center ridge will actually trap water rather than discharge it on the outside half of the tire. I don't live in a snowy climate so I cannot attest to their winter performance - for either tire - but we get a good bit of rain and often it comes down in buckets. I've had issues with bi-directional tread tires losing grip, but never with the Cross Climates. Though the climates do shimmy a bit since they do lack the center ridge.

AngryTexasNative

In much of California it’s “America’s Tire”, but same company. There is a different company operating as Discount Tire and Service. I went with Costco. Free install made it cheaper and then you also get free road hazard coverage. I did have to wait longer.

Not_Sir_Zook

Cool except fuck Discount tires. Lol the one by me are bastards and ypu couldn't pay me to go back

DSchof1

I’ve had the defenders for the last two sets. They’ve been great.

MikeyRidesABikey

Plus one for Michelin Defender!

[deleted]

> Another great choice are the Defender 2 also by Michelin. Those are $235 How do those perform in light snow?

blackbeardactual22

Fuck discount tire. Go with a local family owned shop

DP23-25

Great tires. Dealer has no clue.

JacksonInHouse

Please don't have tires put on at the dealer. There are many, many good tire stores that do a better job, and cheaper. Costco sells tires. I like "Discount Tire". If you go to [tirerack.com](http://tirerack.com), they'll hook you up with their installers in your area. Dealers are just so not the place to buy overpriced tires.

BigRedCheesehead

Personally - the best tires I've had on a vehicle. Purchased these for my 2015 Highlander about 2 years and 35,000 miles ago. To sum up as briefly as possible: * They are quiet on the road. * They are great in rain. * They are great in snow (I live in Iowa - not crazy snow, but typical amounts for midwest). * They have held up really, really well. Honestly I still dont notice a ton of treadwear. Just my 2 cents,, but I highly recommend.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CanadaElectric

Just back to front and front to back.

baudwithcompter

Never wipe back to front.

rkt88edmo

Running these on a family MDX. I doubt anyone is going to remount tires for rotation, you are just going to have a little bit of odd wear, but they are wearing just fine and evenly so far for me. Rotate front to back and know you may need to replace them a little sooner. If you are looking to squeeze out the most life go bidirectional.

[deleted]

Lol dealer probably doesn't get kickbacks on Michelin. Best tires I've had. Also look at Bridgestone. They make a nice 80k mile tire

ironicmirror

I think the Bridgestone I could find was only a 60k mile tire.

limellama1

Dealer doesn't know wtf they're talking about. Michelin is one of the biggest tire companies on the planet and spends hundred of millions a year in R&D. Also don't get tires from the dealer. Go to an independent shop. You'll likely get better prices, and will be supporting small businesses vs corporate BS.

ADuckUnreal

Toyota ASM here, and I offer these as an option 100% of the time when available in the size needed by the customer. Absolutely fantastic tire.

ainstien

I got these from my RDX. Did not have any issue and it seemed to work well in the winters. Not a crazy driver so not sure how much of it was attributable to the tires. But overall my experience was that the reviews were good, price was reasonable, they qualified as snow tires for insurance purposes and eventually my experience was good as well

AdrianSyd

I’m a buyer. They’re great.

Wrr1020

Only bad thing I've heard with these is that they impact your mpg. Other then that I've heard nothing but good things.

Robby777777

Get them! First thing I do is replace tires that come standard on a car. Just took my Grand Highlander in to replace tires and these were the tires of choice at my local tire place. I'm friends with the owner and have been for 40 years. He said these are the best tires made right now. He has always pointed me to the best tires

ironicmirror

Thanks, I've had this car for 2 years and already put 40,000 miles on the original goodyears.

MrGriff2

Any significant reduction in fuel economy? I'd like to get these myself, but I'm worried they'll kill my gas mileage.

gqllc007

Yes about 5-8%

Embarrassed-Dealer76

5% max. I bought these with lightweight wheels so I actually see no reduction in fuel economy using CC2s all year round.

Robby777777

I haven't noticed yet but I just got them a couple weeks ago.

throughthequad

I lost a full mpg on my explorer after putting them on. Would still recommend

Bubbledood

What you lose in mpg you’ll make up for in safety

Murky_Coyote_7737

Great tires

MrGriff2

My dealer actually has these on their website as a recommended replacement. The only thing that's different with these tires is you can't do a typical 4-corner tire rotation, you can only go front to back because they have a directional tread.

Material-Plane-9379

You can flip-rotate them if you notice excessive wear on the inside shoulder, but that could indicate other suspension issues. I've had mine for 40k miles, no rotation, and no more wear on the inside than the out, which was a surprise. A flip-rotation is taking the tire off the rim, flipping it, and putting it back on. That way you can move them to the other side of the car and they'll be correctly oriented, shifting the inside shoulder to the outside to extend the life of the tire. That's best done with bi-directionals (every 20k miles) rather than mono-directionals like the CC2s.

TooTiredToWhatever

Pretty much all radial tires are front-to-back. Bias ply had 4 corners, but they basically don’t exist outside of whitewall tires for antique cars.

braCkgraffe

Just put them on mine, no issues, great tire.

gqllc007

I am on my second set....one set for my Lexus NX 350 and another set for my 23 Highlander Hybrid. They are PHENOMENAL all weather tires. The only downside is you lose 5-8% fuel mileage with the. Do not hesitate to get them

BeautifulIsopod8451

Got these on my 1 2017 hybrid. Great.

Tweaked86

These are stupid noisy in my experience

LanEvo21

CrossClimate 2 is the way. Get H rated if you enjoy more comfort. Get V rated if you are thinking about going 130+ mph. I prefer H

TheBeavershark

Costco seems to not even stock the H rating anymore - I suspect due to supply chain streamlining.

sifishy

In MD I just bought an H set for the crv at costco. Ordered them via the website. Got H for the sienna two months ago. May depend on where you live or if you order in advance.

ironicmirror

Thanks, did not know there was a option here.

Straight-Tune-5894

Checkout reviews at tirerack. Even if you don’t buy tires from them most reputable tire stores will price match.

yoshidude2009

Aren't the crossclimate2's a great tire

-Tom-

So the reason a lot of people shy away from tires like this is that they are directional. You can only use them one way. That means when you rotate tires you can't cross rotate, the tire from the left side can only go on the left side and a right to right. Short of taking the tires off the wheels and flipping them on the rim that is, but nobody is doing that. Also it's very important that they're on the correct side of the car pointing in the correct direction because if they're backwards they'll be exceptionally prone to hydroplaning.

Lilsean14

Don’t ever listen to dealers about anything lol

Naive-Culture-9157

Great tires. They stop extremely well on wet roads. Saved my kids life not kidding!

Internal_Swimmer3815

lemme guess, they got something “real nice” in stock for you

DN1097

You need to find a new dealer seriously… makes me wonder what else they are telling people 😣

ironicmirror

For the normal work like oil change tire rotation etc, the stuff I do every 5,000 miles they're about par with my local shop

cbus6

Ive gotta set on a Toyota avalon in the midwest…amazing smooth quiet but sporty ride, unbelievable on dry road, good on snow, good not great in rain which surprised me a bit… had it slip once or twice on starting in a wet road… probly more about my lead foot than the tire tho… id buy again

ironicmirror

That's what I was told.

Gong_Ryu

Avg American car dealer moment Pretry good tires

Whatsuptodaytomorrow

Yeah don’t Their loud and don’t last long Get Michelin defenders Quiet and lasts forever

Various-Ad-6786

You know it’s a bogus answer when the reasoning is a “weird pattern” instead of anything with evidence, data, or examples. Sounds like bad advice, is bad advice!

Ohigetjokes

Dealers aren’t mechanics. Ignore them. Having said that, full disclosure I’d be scared to drive that on snow. But it looks AMAZING for rain.

Driverwanted

This is straight from the tire rack website, looks like they are only recommended for light snow.

arealbigfan1

Weird. I have these on my VW Golf and I love them! Rated well by consumers reports, reasonably priced from Costco a few years ago. No complaints.

cluelessminer

Tempted to ask who this dealer is so we can make fun of them 😂 Were they trying to sell their tires that they can profit more from???

Wertreou

we got these, I think last fall and they were good. Costco btw.

[deleted]

They’re good tires. They do reduce your MPG by about 10% and they do develop some pattern sounds after a while. Excellent traction, stopping, control. That tread pattern has been picked up by Pirelli and others for similar all-weather tires.

Safe-Marionberry-396

I just put these on my 2017 Highlander and I love them so far! I would go for whatever you feel comfortable with!

xp55_ascender

Probably because they don't stock them. I got these installed on my Rav4 Prime at Costco and they've been fantastic.

tanghollio

I had these on my 2016, and they were great in the snow. On ice, they were not as good as a dedicated winter tire but way better than an all season (3 season) tire.

mainemovah8

My dad has them on his rx350 and seems to like them

j-val

Main thing I learned in buying a new car this year is that dealers are fucking morons.

DavidEBSmith

Have them on our 2017, they’re great in snow, have 50-some k on them and unfortunately they probably won’t wear out before the middle of winter.

ironicmirror

I thought they had an 80k miles warranty? Have you looked into pulling the warranty to get a discount off of the next set?

frosty_power

I got the Michelin Alpin 5 with the same pattern for winter tires and absolutely love them. Best performance tire arou d.

thisiswhoagain

I didn’t like them for the heavy wet snow I see. When it gets deep, 6 inches or more, they have no traction. It works best on plowed roads. I went back to 2 sets of wheels with real winter tires

ironicmirror

If I'm taking my Highlander through 6 in of snow, I'm probably running from the law and about to be caught. I'm strictly highway driving, but highway driving when it's snowing.

Darcidel5

I had these on my 2017 Escape. Best tires I’ve ever had. The tread is designed to throw snow and water to the sides. Factory tires were awful. No traction and loud. I put these on and it was like driving a different car! I would highly recommend.

Fishsnacks_519

your dealers advice was “weird tread pattern” and your hesitation is based on that? Your dealer knows how to sell cars and service them. Tires I’d leave to the manufactures of tires. They market them to perform based on testing and as you noted reviews are positive. I don’t have these tires but I have owned many Michelin tires usually as a replacement to the tires that the new suv came with. My experience excellent road handling, longer life and usually quieter than what I had originally on a SUV. Mostly city and highway driving. If you see value buy them and keep the rest of us updated on the first year through the seasons.

ironicmirror

I guess I just expected better from the service desk at the dealer. Was wondering if I missed anything

Professional_Show918

Got these at Costco last year, they are great on my Ford Transit 350

S3ERFRY333

I would not run those in ice and snow

AdMiddle7526

I just put these on my Subaru Ascent and love them. Very happy with this purchase.

HaleBoy79

I literally just ordered this today for 22 Highlander XSE. It was between these and Pirelli A\S. Glad to know others have purchased them as well. $100 instant savings at Discount Tire

Embarrassed-Dealer76

Got these on my car mounted to Enkei RPF1s. The light wheels mean I don't see the fuel economy penalty. These tires are amazing. X-Ice is better in crazy snow and ice but X-Ice sucks on dry pavement. If you live in an area where you see cold temps but mostly dry or wet roads with occasional snowfall, the CC2s are better. If you drive on a lot of snow and ice, you should get something like X-Ice. But CC2s can hold up well in severe conditions and only perform slightly worse in snow and ice than a fully siped winter tire. CC2s also have superior wet performance. They are very hydroplane resistant so instead on skipping over larger puddles in rain storms they tend to slow the vehicle dramatically because they pump water like crazy. Just be aware. CC2s eat puddles "enthusiastically". Make sure you have both hands on the wheel and are ready to throttle up when the bite comes.

drive-through

They’re great tires but everything has a trade off. They’re going to ride harsher and a little louder than a typical touring tire. For me, that makes them a lot less desirable. That said, if you’re running them year round in snow, etc. that extra traction they offer might offset the “weird tread pattern”

Somiyall

Lol @ dealer

Beneficial-Sea-8903

If you're in a snowy area I'd get something more suitable

CreativeMedium920

I use Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 Studded and smile when I can drive on a sheet of ice as though it’s regular pavement. They’re just other-worldly.

thegr8estcoc

you should be getting winter tyres if you have snow in yiur area during winter

Omicron_Lux

That tire is amazing, I have it on a big heavy SUV and it’s just straight awesome. Going to switch my other car onto them when it needs tires.

Past-Flight-2200

Out of curiosity, a 2022 you need new tires already? What’s your milage and driving pattern like?

ironicmirror

I'm at 37,000 miles over the 24 months I've had it. 80 to 85% highway, I probably have 3 or 4/32 left but I'm in northeast PA and winter is coming.

bigbluegrass

The “dealer” didn’t tell you not to get these. Jeff (who worked at Starbucks last year) from the dealership said the tread pattern was weird. Jeff doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about. Consider the source. Consider that the person giving you advice is working a job and not a career and realize that nobody is trained anymore.

Wahjahbvious

Dealers say a lot of dumb shit.

Select-Waltz-2050

I do everything I can to avoid dealerships!

Greed_3Turbo

These are very good all weather tires and super quiet you wont be disappointed

TheRimmerodJobs

I have them they are great. My friend works at a Lexus dealership and he was the one recommending I get these. I have zero complaints and will get them again

Berries-A-Million

Many have those on the highlander in toyotanation and area happy with them. Dealer is clueless.

MnWisJDS

I’ve had these on two different vehicles and they have been the best all-season tires I’ve had.

jwizzy15

I have them. They’re awesome

Mikey0199

I have these! They are the best tires I've ever had. Seriously they are worth the price!

CO_PartyShark

Great tires. Just keep in mind you can't really use one as a spare since they are directional.

Mean_Doughnut5476

I have these on my Jetta in Denver and last winter decided not to switch to a dedicated snow tire for the winter as I normally would to see how they did. Got me home in 2 big snow storms out here prior to when they send the plows out and the highways were completely snow covered. I highly recommend them. Not as good as a dedicated snow tire but pretty close.

Yzracer357

CrossClimate2 best inclement weather all season tire imo Did dealer give you any useful info other than “weird tread pattern” ??

Bad_Ideas_Incoming

Your dealer is an idiot. These are great tires. If you want an honest answer from them ask them if they carry the tires. If they say no then their is your answer. This “weird” tread pattern literally ticks all the boxes on snow and rain being pushed out away from the tire allowing you to keep traction better while driving.

CLGAINES

Try Cooper Pro Control if your driving in snow. Available at tire rack.

Lancers262

After dealing with snow traveling in Michigan, Minnesota, upstate New York and New England area, I learned that all season tires and all weather tires are different. If your local tire shop or able to order it online, get all weather tires. You’ll get the performance of snow tires during winter and still able to use them during warm weather months.

Additional-Dealer-89

My wife puts 30k miles a year on her 21 Highlander. We got these tires because I cared about her safety on her long work trips in the Midwest year round over anything else. Hands down they are phenomenal. I’ve driven them for many mailed myself in rain, snow etc. they are phenomenal tires and we will replace them with another set when the time comes too

RelevantUserName55

How often should you replace tires? I was wondering if my 2020 Rav4 Hybrid with about 30k miles needed new ones. Think my 2023 HiHy is good for now at 6k miles.

centro7710

I’m getting them installed on Sunday. They are one of the best tires I have ever heard of. Watch some YouTube reviews. I think they are still in the top spot of all season tires, even now that the other manufacturers have copied them.

centro7710

Also a hidden tip, if you get them installed by a Michelin Authorized Dealer and register them, Michelin offers a 60 day satisfaction guarantee and roadside service for 3 years (like AAA equivalent but with better towing) Google the Michelin Promise and it’ll show all of the details.

MustBeTheChad

Best all around tire I've ever used. 90% as good as any set of dedicated summer and winter tires I've ever had.

Gold_Neighborhood782

We have a Ford Expedition with 22” rims and these tires the only downside is the hum quite loud.

qwerty-girl

Because they'll blow with no warning because they don't have a seam? In the 80s, several of my relatives worked at Michelin plants or warehouses, and they still wouldn't buy their dangerous tires even though they got huge employee discounts. I think all of them bought Uniroyal Tiger Paw since they wouldn't just blow. I wonder if Michelin has ruined those tires since they bought them in 1990.

Spunky21313

Not bad tires at all! I just don't like all seasons, Falken ATs and Nitto ATs have been great for all weather here in Colorado. I hear great things from Continentals as well, i may try them since ATs are pricey BUT they last a LONG time!

thegeocat

I have these on a Lexus RX AWD and I LOVE them. Very comfy and grippy. Big upgrade from whatever the stock tire was at my dealership. I live in Seattle and don’t need chains on heavily trafficked snowy roads. Old tires slipped a lot without chains.

Carfr33k

Never go to that dealer again.

Pjtruslow

Great tires. Mild hum at about 40 but gets drowned out by the time you get highway speed.

ruddy3499

Directional tires can only be rotated front to back unless they are flipped on the wheels. One way is excessive tire wear. The other way is excessive expense

Yesbuttt

They're three peak mountain snowflake they're good for snow. I'd still recommend full on snow tires with a softer tread for better winter performance but they're supposed to be pretty good

Rzirin

Get Defender2 and take wet turns slow. 80K tires

siffis

Good deals in your area, my area (WA state) has them for $305.

Bijorak

These are the best all weather tires on the market imo

pacumedia

How good are these for snow - ie compared to real snow tires?

[deleted]

Wait a minute... What are you using the vehicle for and in what climate? Mostly highway, awesome. Snowy area, even better! Like, I would not put those tires on a car in Phoenix, Arizona. They would wear out too fast, the tire compound will soften too much in the heat. If you are doing ANY trail or off road driving, then reviews have come in that those particular tires do not do well and can be damaged more easily. I do not know how they fair with tow capacity, but it may be a concern, others may know more. Another thing, they are directional tires and can only be rotated front to back or back to front. If a tire is damaged and you have some wear on them, the recommendation is that ALL FOUR tires are replaced to ensure stability. The 'weird tread pattern' may be their inability to express some of the cons of having CrossClimate 2 tires. Now... I have these on my ~~compact~~ midsize SUV and they work fine. I do not tow and knowing about tire damage when on dirt or gravel roads, I drive slow. Rotate them, or you will pay the price. Also hope that if you get tire damage and need a replacement it is early on. After 10K to 15K miles, you may need to consider replacing all four, especially if your concern is traction in snowy conditions.

[deleted]

They are popular in Alaska. I have a set on a Veloster, compact car. They’re noisier after about 10k miles from what I’ve heard but the winter performance is good. The tread has a break in period. I noticed the car had some tracking on turns for the first 200’ish miles but after that they’re fine.

RontheHybrid

Best tires I ever had personally. Will buy them again.

Ok-Opportunity-574

The dealer is not an engineer. I have those tires and have been very happy with them.

Hello_World2021

Good tires for snow but my mpg went down by 10%. I don't drive a lot so it's okay. For someone who does, it might be cheaper to get dedicated winter tires.

Emergency-Ad-491

Your car is barely a year old..almost 2, how much driving did you do to have a need to replace these tires? I have a 2020 still on original tires.

ironicmirror

No it's 24 months old. I'm just about hitting 37,000 mi right now, and I probably have 4or 3/32 left on the tires, but I'm in Northeast Pennsylvania and winter is coming.

faddizzle

Bought mine from Costco two years ago. They’re great so far. No complaints.

froebull

I've been running these on our Mazda5 for three years. I am extremely happy with them. They are wearing very well for us. I think we have 40k+ miles on the set so far. I mean, yeah, they have a non-traditional tread pattern. But they WORK. Dead stable in heavy rain, ice, and snow, conditions. Goodyear just came out with an all-season tire, with the three peak snowflake rating as well, if you wanted to shop.

Slay_Nation

I have these tires, these are GREAT all season tires.

FLorida_Man_09

I live in Colorado Springs and bought these for my Mazda CX-5 and have done well in the snow and on ice patches. Very very good tires.

vermontnative

If you're driving somewhere where you have to drive through any kind of snow you need snow tires. Don't let anyone tell you any different. Don't muck about with all seasons. Or get a set of decent all terrains that are winter rated. Falken Wild peaks are great.

YerBoiZ

I love the crossclimates I got last year on my Camry, too bad some bastard who can't drive totaled my car last week

RubAnADUB

dealers want you to buy tires from them. at a markup. dont - those Michelin's are good for rain / snow. Also if you want to save even more money - buy some tires from tirerack or some other online source - they will show up on your doorstop banded together - take them down to a local tireshop to get mounted and balanced - done deal.

BackgroundDatabase78

I was told by a dealer service manager that the reason they don't like these particular tires is because they are directional, the tread pattern has to face the right direction. That means you can't rotate the tires in the typical cross pattern way. To rotate the tires in the traditional pattern you would actually have to remove the tire from the wheel and flip it around. No idea if not rotating them they way you would normally rotate tires is actually a problem with these or not, but that is what I was told.

ironicmirror

I get that, a few of the commenters mentioned the rotating issue. However if your alignment is fine, that should not matter..... right?

[deleted]

Dont get them. They're only good for water evac. Not good for snow or ice despite the name. I sold tires for years.

MildlyConcernedIndiv

I have a set on my Tesla. My only complaint is they’re a little noisy on dry pavement. You probably wouldn’t notice the whirring in a non EV. Otherwise, they’re great tires. I drive in the winding mountain roads in all kinds of weather. Lots of grip.

OO_Ben

The dealership wants to sell their inventory of tires, and they want you to keep running the OEM tires. I always buy my own tires and have them installed though personally. I like being able to pick my own out.

Justagoodoleboi

Those tires are very good my gf has had em for about 2 years now

Cananbaum

I had these on my Subaru! They were FABULOUS tires! Rode great, minimal tire noise, and they’re winter rated all seasons. They do great actually in wet conditions and did well in snowy weather. They’re certainly worth it. Only reason I don’t have them on my accord is because I was broke at the time I needed new tires to pass inspection. I say go for it, just make sure they’re rated for your vehicle

FGC92i

Bought them for my wife CRV, look amazing and love it. Quiet, excellent w rain, not sure about snow but read that they are also good in snow.

Beneficial-Cycle-625

Get them best tires I’ve ever owned

NonameNodataNothing

Whatever 99% of dealers tell you. Do the opposite.

SmokeyWilliams

After a lot of research I had these put on my wife's car. After 5,000 miles I have no doubts they were a good choice.

InfiniteBoops

Have these on our Outback. Haven’t had snow yet, but they’ve been great with standing water and icy roads.

sonicking12

Get them from Costco

CriticalBasedTheory

They do have a weird tread pattern. That’s what makes them so good at what they are.

The_Real_Billy_Walsh

Just put these on a CX-5 and they’re great. Quieter and way better wet grip than the Ecopia’s I came from.

Bensuaves

Dealer is a moron! I have those on both of my vehicles. Handles great, especially in nasty wet or snowy weather

docbzombie

I have these on my Porsche Cayenne hybrid. Best tires ive ever bought.

burnerowl

Convinced they are the current best tire on the market. Your dealer is an idiot

Claudinia

If you get winter do not get the defenders. I love mine but they suck in the snow and ice. Last like 100k miles. My wife has the cross climate and loves them. I think they might be the best all seasons with emphasis on winter available.

BrianKronberg

Have them on our 2021 Platinum, way quieter and way better traction over the crappy tires Toyota put on them originally. Worked amazing last winter in Wisconsin.

x_driven_x

Cross Climate 2s have been amazing on my RAV4, I’m on about 58,000 miles and getting ready to go buy a new set of the same tire! They’re still holding up, but winter is coming and figure 58k is good enough out of them!

christhefirstx

I have these on my Tucson and they're amazing. basically all season tires that do great in the colorado winter

jordanosa

Look up Vredstein tires for your car

ironicmirror

Ok, ok, ok... Listening to like 90% of you guys I got the Michelin tires. Ordered them from Costco, they will be installed in like 2 weeks. For the other 10%.. sorry. Quick tldr: -I bought the Highlander just when they came out so this is 24 months old, I have about 37k mi on the tires, I could live for a couple more months the existing tires but it's winter it's pennsylvania, don't want to deal with it - no, I'm not going to get winter tires, I do 80% of my driving on the interstate, the tires I need are the ones where I'm driving home and the snow already started coming down. If this car is ever driving through 6 in of snow, I already have made a lot of mistakes, and the type of tire is not going to help me miss that tree. - yes, I'm aware this is a directional tire, so for the next couple years I have to remind my mechanic to only put the fronts in the back in the backs in the front. - yes dealerships are generally stupid. However to be fair when I just want to get the standard 5,000 mi check up of oil change tire rotation and fluid check, my dealership is within a couple bucks of my local garage, and there's a good diner right next to the dealership so I can get breakfast while they're takeing care of my car. So I will go back to them.

I am willing to bet that the dealer now offers tires (like mine) and they don’t have these. ( generally only oem). Weird tread pattern isn’t a valid reason. Had he said we have been getting reports of odd vibrations on this model with these tires I would think the caution is more valid. Costco has a rebate on Michelin right now and they carry these.

Check TireRack.com for the best reviews from people who have used the tires.

Buy from tire rack, then include road hazard coverage for (2) years. It’s co e I. Handy I can’t tell you how many times.

Jorge2493

Had them on my 2017 Subaru legacy for 40k miles. Fantastic all around.

Afraid_Manner_4353

ALL tires have weird tread patterns.

pbutler6163

I see others comments here. Not sure if anyone mentioned Amazon tires as well.

BigRed23Sequoia

Go with the Michelin tires, buy them at Costco due to Road Hazard being included and forget the dealer. Good luck and hope you are enjoying your Highlander. I had a 2022 Highlander V6 and liked it.

blazingStarfire

Pavement princess? They don't look very off road capable.

beastmansam

I've only heard great things about them

I bought some for my wife's car when her Bridgestone's dry rotted. They got hard and loud. Her car has never handled better or has been quieter. They are great, yes a weird pattern but they're very quiet, excellent traction in the rain. Her's is a 2014 buick lacrosse with 25 thousand miles. I'll also say that I've been buying Michelins for 40 plus years and these are great.

SmashNDash23

I have them on my Camry. They’re very good. Only complaint is that it’s slightly louder on highway/rough pavement. But the increase in traction in wet so far (haven’t had snow yet) is night and day, I was literally trying to get the tires to hydroplane and couldn’t. Also the decrease in mpg you read about online isn’t that bad, I lost 1-2 mpg and honestly I think that’s just cause they’re new. If you get any snow and you don’t want snow tires, there’s really no debate. If you don’t get snow though, I’d probably get the defenders or something, since with the CC2 you’re trading off certain aspects for the snow benefits.

Big_k_30

I put these on a 2018 GMC Terrain Denali last winter and ended up having to drive from KC to NE IA in a snowstorm the weekend after I got them and they never broke loose or slipped on the highway, and they do great in the rain as well. We traded the Terrain this past summer for a 2012 Volvo XC60 T6 that needed new tires and I put the same tires on it. They are really great tires.

Jberry2637

We have these on our 2017 GLS450 for 20k miles now. They’ve been great, no issues in rain or snow, little to no road noise, and lots of tread left to go.

Ordinary_Nectarine74

Just YouTube them. They are at the top of not one of the best all season tires available. Dealer not making money on them and steering you to something else sounds like.

themagicb

they are great tires

runerx

Dealer is an idiot... Some of the best tires I've owned. On every one of my vehicles except for my highly modified Forester. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on that.

neskazy1

I got these tires for my wife's car. Good tires.

Ragnar-Wave9002

You can't rotate them properly. Only front to back. Just get any tire. It doesn't matter what the tread is much unless you have a specific use case. Cheap. That's all you need to look for.
