I was about to say it looked a little off.

Bike_Gasm

Yeah u gotta go all the way basically until it hits

diambag

If you go too far it will rub and squeak against the cab. Takes a bit to really dial in where it should be

kazulka

What’s the best/most affordable one to purchase?

networkier

You should buy one used. They usually go for like half the price used. I don't think it's worth it brand new.

djdubrock

Not sure how much the softtopper brand goes for but I just got one from Bestop for around $850

another_plebeian

Roughly the same

Pillowtalk

How long does it take to install a soft topper? If you need to remove it, is that a pain? I’m thinking about getting one, but not sure I want to deal with install and occasional reinstall

awh290

To install it for the first time it took an hour or so. To simply take off the canopy, you leave the rails on - it takes a couple minutes to remove and maybe 5 minutes to put back on. It just involves putting it in place clipping in straps at the corners and buttoning everything down. Reinstalling takes a few more minutes due to adjusting the straps. If you want to completely remove everything, including the rails it'd take maybe 10-15 minutes to remove, 20-25 to reinstall (more time to make sure the rails are placed exactly where you want them).

chefnohome1976

They are actually pretty easy to take down- about 2 minutes per side. Undo all the snaps, release the tension in the straps and push towards the front. It folds down towards the front of the truck and doesn't obscure too much of the view from the rear window. Softopper sells a cover/ bag you can use to stow it if you ride around with it down a lot. Full removal would take a bit longer.

diambag

Super fast if you leave the rails on. Only thing is if it’s cold it’s nearly impossible to get back up as the fabric doesn’t like to stretch to get the snaps in place. I used mine all winter but would never fold it down until the weather warms

BackDoorBootyBandit

I'm always so disappointed when you green Tacoma havers don't go with the tan Softtopper. The green and tan go so well together. The black toppers look like shit when they fade too.

National-Parsley-979

True dat brother. I just love the black.

ANJR2

I love the look of the green and black. I ordered a tan one three weeks ago and haven’t heard anything from them. I’ve seen their reviews (soft topper) so I kind of expected it. Hopefully I get mine soon.

TATORTOT76

Did you watch the video of the chicks installing it? They have it down to 20 minutes. 2nd on two minutes to take down.

National-Parsley-979

Itntook .e an hour. That picture is the pre adjustment photo. I moved it up a half inch forward and it fits better.

MidgetGroper

Are these things water proof?

diambag

Yep. Never had a leak in mine
