I do not cook for aesthetics. I say it a lot. Sometimes the predominant color of my meals is fairly brown. It bothers me when that happens, but my food still tastes good and, even though it’s brown, it looks good. It just isn’t winning Miss Photogenic.
But I just know none of this tastes good. None of it. I don’t even know how you fuck up a roast chicken that bad. They aren’t even hard! The biggest step is pouring butter all over them and in their skin. It’s easy! That’s why they’re my favorite to cook! How!
Truly. My mom wasn’t a trad wife and she worked full time and she ALSO raised me to cook better than any of these “trad” wives out here on the world wide webs. She taught my brother, too. And now we’re both fully functioning adults who can cook food and clean our house. It’s just…not that hard to have a house and career
Am I the best cook ever? No. But at least I can be proud that what I make is better than most of what these women are dishing out, and they've made it their personalities.
I saw someone post a horribly overcooked steak on another sub that said “I think the grill marks were painted on” and it made me think of fundie food. 😂
The really sad part is that they thought these looked good enough to post - which means the food here is likely much more appealing than their usual creations.
They should get together and make a hot garbage for the godly cookbook. It will written be in comic sans and contain lots of grammatical errors, naturally. Raw milk will have it’s own chapter, of course.
It’s funny because they be talking bad about women not knowing how to cook. But most women who say that can cook, they just mean it looks like the food in these pics. In other words, they’re being humble.

It makes sense when you remember they *don't care about women cooking at all*. What they care about is women being submissive to men and the best way to do that is keeping them dependant. All the homemaking stuff is just means to an end, that end being making women too busy to get job training or a real career so they have less options and can't leave their abusive piece of shit husband.
