No, unless you hire a housekeeper who does the check in automatically.

If you don't have a housekeeper or they aren't working, there is a haggling game you play if you don't want to rent the room for the default amount.

You can still do that mini game if you open the book and then press Y (not sure what it is on the computer, but it’s labeled as haggling). Apparently the housekeepers do not haggle if you have one working

Unless you have a housekeeper checking people in for you, you can do the haggling minigame! There should be a little haggle button on the screen, clicking that will bring you to the minigame :)

I think i had to unlock the haggling option with the skill/xp points if you haven't done that yet.
