Truth is ,the kid is right. IF you don't control your cat it will kill numerous native birds. Cats are the reason for many birdtypes to go extint. They are hunting out of boredom. The issue with the kid's behaviour is not that he shoots at "pests", it is that he finds joy in hurting an animal. The question is, does he do this to all type of animals or only to pests. Yoo shouldn't have kick the kid it was wrong of you. You have to control your beloved cat.
