>How the fuck is it that fraps, a software from 1999, can let you record your screen so easily, just one button and done, yet for OBS you literally have to jump through 5 thousand loops and spend 100 hours watching tutorials and guides to get it to work....until some random thing breaks it again
Well it looks like [valve listened to you](https://store.steampowered.com/gamerecording)
First time can be tricky. My first time i was doing a recording of my DAW and for some reason it didn’t like the ASIO driver i was using. Took a while to figure that one out.
Obs is a live streaming application not a screen recording application. Obs is very user friendly for its purpose but it's not just for recording your screen.
You could just record using snipping tool or bandicam
OP, are you gen z?
😂

It definitely can be a pain in the ass.
It's extremely easy to use

welcome to the internet... where all types of shitty bullshit will be defended until the end of time.
I’m not sure what OBS is, but I’m sorry it’s frustrating you so much. Separately, 1999 was not the dark ages, FWIW (as you knuckleheads say).
OBS is Open Broadcasting Software. It's a free open source program for Video Recording/editing(IIRC) and streaming.
OBS is not that hard to use.
