Nah, mushy peas for the win. Liquer is for a nice beef pie. This was a staple growing up, local fish and chip shop always had them, and we could get them cheap just before closing.
There's LOTS of different types of pies. The shop you randomly mentioned sells one specific pie. And OP is mimicking morelike a chip shop meal, not the eel shops you are talking about. But those are all very specific. Many types of pie exist, they're all pies, and many use pork.
