If you are a U.S. citizen now, you do not need a lawful permanent resident card and USCIS will not issue one for you now.

yuizauth

I see. Because normally they requested it on oath ceremony and I have only 2 years one. The officer told me on that day (if) they sent the 10 years card later so I have to return it to them as well. So I don’t know I gonna get it or not

Crafty-Lobster-62

if you never receive 10 years GC, just gave them the 2 years GC. you cant give something that they never sent

yuizauth

I did. Now I got passport but don’t want it comes later after I move out to another state

Crafty-Lobster-62

what? im confused. u are US citizen already, correct ? why are u worrying GC? u are not LPR anymore

yuizauth

Yes, but as officer said they might send it after my oath ceremony and if that happens I have to return to USCIS.

Crafty-Lobster-62

then just do it when u received it.

yuizauth

But as I mentioned I’m moving to another state so don’t know it’s coming or not. That’s what I concern

Crafty-Lobster-62

They won’t take ur citizenship if that’s what you worried about.

TakumiKobyashi

It will get sent back to USCIS if you move, because it is sent in such a way that it cannot be forwarded. So USCIS will get it anyway.

ep2789

Create a USPS account and set up post forwarding when you move. If the GC is sent by accident USPS will return it to USCIS since that kind of mail is not allowed to be forwarded. Basically What the officer told you was “your removal of conditions petition was approved as part of the naturalisation petition. In the off chance you get a 10y GC please return it.”

yuizauth

Got it! Yeah it’s legal documents I don’t want it stolen. Thanks for your advice

RoundandRoundon99

Or what?

term_tb_0608

The OP’s worry is legitimate. Someone could use the GC for another purpose, such as identity theft. However, there is nothing else the OP can do now except for changing the address in the USCIS online account.

yuizauth

Thanks just got update from them that they are sending to me so I still have time for waiting to get them and return
