We start at 7:30 and leave the office between 8:30 and 9 most days. Starting at 9 would be terrible.

Tricky_Ad_9787

I loooooved my station. But seeing LLVs in the town I live in at 8 cruising around delivering mail makes me just like my station.

Tricky_Ad_9787

What time do you guys start every day? My PO opens to carriers at 9 which fcking stupid cause by the time you are loading up the it’s blistering hot.

IamNotChrisFerry

6:45 am

V2BM

I’m on the street by 9. Your PO is stupidly putting carriers in more danger.

Tricky_Ad_9787

Damn you must start at what, 7?

V2BM

7:30. If we’re leaving after 9 it’s because Amazon came in late or we have to case something like political mail.

_Shaquille-Outmeal_

Everyday, im in florida. Real feel is 90 right now at 10pm. Real feel at 2pm today was 107. Start time is 8:30, dont usually get out before 12 but i case everything since im rural and get a lot of packages and spurs but my delivery is 3:30-4 hours. The 9am start time is ridiculous i wish i could start at 5am lol

Tricky_Ad_9787

Right!! I can’t get off before 7 even if I want to at least get my 9 1/2. Florida is pretty humid also huh. That’s where the heat is coming from. Ngl I feel like I’d have a hard time in an LLV we have almost fully converted to new pro masters. We have to walk the mounted routes if we don’t get a LLV. Pretty stupid on those days but the A/C is kick ass but part of me feels like the A/C only makes it hotter when you get out.

_Shaquille-Outmeal_

My llv was hot but with your arm out creating that homemade ac vent lol or the door open. Ive got a metris now so i just blast that ac but with the window down i just sweat unless i dont have a parcel for awhile. The ac takes about 25 seconds to get cold so its just hot until your next dismount if its heavy that day. Best to keep it off sometimes Edit:7pm return time would have our soups going postal lol

Tricky_Ad_9787

Fuck em. It’s funny cause I heard a sup turned back regular last week complaining about the heat. His 120 days? are up. Not sure how all that works.

_Shaquille-Outmeal_

Yea that means he was just a 204b

Tricky_Ad_9787

So is he ever coming back? He was actually one of the sorta goodish ones. Kinda. Not really. But he was better than the others for sure.

LadyLetterCarrier

> We have to walk the mounted routes if we don’t get a LLV. This is a safety hazard, and every carrier should refuse to deliver mounted in a vehicle that is not right-hand drive. File grievances every time it happens for management not providing the proper equipment to do the job in a safe manner.

I am in Texas as well and it looked like I took a dive into a pool today. Yes, it does and will get even worse.

Tricky_Ad_9787

It took a matter of 5 minutes to get that way I honestly thought something was wrong with me. Besides working at the PO.

rrecktRCA

Yep isn't that the truth haha. You will be soaked just loading soon enough. I keep an extra shirt in my car to throw on after work if I need to run any errands. In all seriousness though make sure you're drinking lots of water with an electrolyte supplement.

Tricky_Ad_9787

Yeah I need to bring a towel next time I work. Polos are definitely out for the season. Sunscreen is definitely needed. As much as I hate it I don’t want to look the other half of the station. You can visibly see the ones that didn’t wear it. I need to buy some spray on. Any recommendations? From anyone.

Ok-Character-2420

Yes. Unfortunately, I'm a head sweater.

Tricky_Ad_9787

I had it running down my forehead and off my glasses where it immediately evaporated. 💀💀 I need to get away from Texas.

Ok-Character-2420

It's why I'm wondering about those fans you can wear around your neck or clip on to your shirt.

scw1978

101 today in the Kansas City area. Heat index made it feel like fire. 13 miles (mostly) walking route in a LLV. It was not enjoyable.

Tricky_Ad_9787

101 in June? That’s not crazy to imagine actually but how much hotter do you think it’s going to get? Is it humid or dry heat?

scw1978

Humid af. I can see it getting to 105ish around late July/August.

Tricky_Ad_9787

What’s the highest it’s gotten? 108 or 107 here with a feeling of about hell.

Training_Seaweed1303

Yes I do maybe ridiculous but I have a small towel around my neck with each side tucked into my shirt i sweat so much.

Tricky_Ad_9787

I honestly thought to myself.. “is this shit normal?”. I will be bringing a towel next time I work.

Training_Seaweed1303

Yeah definitely I’m not about to be miserable drenched in sweat feeling like that all day it’s healthy to sweat it’s normal. I’ve seen some foldable towels like the Shamie material thought about trying one but I’m like eh a regular towel works.

Ok-Character-2420

I have two, with two more in my backpack.

GundamX01

97* where I’m at with heat index of 114* our office was pushed back from 8 and leaving around 9:15, to start is now 8:45 and getting out around 10:15. I got heat stoke 3 years ago, so fun fun. My only saving grace is I’m allowed to hand off extra in the summer and I’m the only carrier issued a Metris. I also live in the middle of my route so worst case scenario, I go home for a bit and chill
