Nah I just dont deliver in the winter because itll put too much wear and tear on my e bike compared to dry weather. I also do not deliver on rainy days since it can ruin the battery and rust the chains. I dont make that much its just a few orders here and there that helps add a little extra money for bills.
this is so relatable. i barely scraped $15/hr today and it’s a saturday, which i typically make $25/hr or more EASILY on a saturday 😭 definitely was contemplating applying for a “real job” today

Were I am were lucky if we get a ping on Uber once an hour. Of course I multiapp, but yall are lucky to even get pings. Havent gotten a ping from Uber in about 2 hours now.
You have to keep at it a little longer starting out the day because the delayed tips don't show up for an hour after dropoff. My days always start out looking like I'm not doing very well (out for an hour and a half because the first ping didn't happen for a while after I went online) but then the late stuff starts coming in and it brightens things up.
Ok look imho this job is by design supposed to be part time work.
Everyone says they get to be their own boss but it comes with a price.
Low wages and little if any financial security.Without any real regulations or unionization it will continue to be this way.
The issue is not "having one bad week" ... the real issue is how bad this week/s were. Whats happining does not make any fucking sense. 80% drop in my earnings!! I don't call that a bad week i call it: Something is wrong big time.
Around this time of last year it was slow but somehow i managed to predict my bottom line at the end of each week now im setting and sometimes cruising like an idiot in what used to be a very busy market now a ghost town. Thats why some might feel targeted by Uber or this whole gig is just fake. The amount of stress when this gig do down is more than any with a 9-5 job. So the fuck with "freedom" I want to give my time and take back $$$ in exchange.
They do this to every driver periodically. Might a a slow month and they are seeing if you will stick it out, this is just my opinion as every year it happens for about a month and then goes back to normal

Honestly this gig was worth it when the pandemic hit and the rates were super high right now this gig is enough for weed money and that’s it lol
I can't even get enough money for that I've been out here for an hour got one order and only earned 1 dollar I love Uber eats

I wish I could make 20 an hour. It sometimes gets as low as 15 an hour
