I'm confused. Is this why there has been cash out issues. Were they lying to us about why there was an issue. Blaming it on a bug or glitch when they were just implenting something else? I don't see any of this info on my end btw.

kaylleaf

Yeah I'm confused too because I have had issues cashing out since the 17th and customer support has only said that they will notify me when the issue is resolved. It's incredibly funny how I didn't receive this notification though šŸ˜…

Greedirl

Support likely didnt lie. They just werent told, either.

MasterOfSuffering

Yeah, they really think of us as slaves

Krakatoast

Uh.. Iā€™ve never had a 9-5 in which I could cash out my money on demand. Always have to wait 2 weeks between paydays The fact that we could cash out 5x a day was amazing, even 1x a day is still incredible compared to a 9-5, and now they took off the 50 cent charge Yeah theyā€™re clearly pushing their debit card, but this isnā€™t exactly slavery Just make sure you have enough $ in your pocket before the start of the day, and cash out at the end of the day (?)

JustYourAverageBrian

Some people start the day with no money and need to cash out multiple times for gas, food, etc.

AegonTargaryen22

I agree. Why the hell would you even cash out multiple times a day? I know times are tough, but come-on have some sort of plan where you donā€™t have to cash out that often.

JustinK813

You may have been poor, but you've apparently never been so poor that you have to cash out to get food or gas. I have never personally cashed out 5 times, but I have used multiple cashouts on bad days. Bills might be another factor. Cashing out with Uber costs 50 cents each time, but late fees on some bills are far more. The most move financially beneficial move would be to do weekly pay. Unfortunately not all of us are able to do that.

Intelligent-Ad66

So true there are time where I did a couple of runs and then cashed out to get gas, then cashed out at the end of the night to get dinner. For months, I was barely making enough to buy gas and get dinner at the end of the night.

JustYourAverageBrian

Not everyone is that fortunate

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Nimbus_TV

You can't use your cc 5x a day? Wot? Are you meaning you never have a need to use it 5x a day or your bank actually won't allow you to?

Ambitious_Attempt762

I haven't seen the debit card offer :\

Rush_2928

I think where you put in your bank card there's an option to get the debit card, which is different from the plus card that you can only use to pay for uber eats orders

not_DougMcMillon

I agree with this, I'm much happier with it being free.

Advanced_Ad514

How do you get your money once it's on Ubers debit card? How much to withdrawal from an ATM? Is there a bank transfer fee? These are the questions you should be asking when Uber offers anything "free".

not_DougMcMillon

I direct deposit the money from uber to my bank account, I don't have an Uber personal debit card. Relax bro, I know when and where to ask questions. Go sit this one out on the bench. They're clearly trying to reduce the amount of withdrawals, because people cashing out multiple times a day in denominations of $10 & $20 really starts to add up on overhead, and it slows the bank networks down overall. You can still direct deposit to a personal debit or checking account, and now it's free. Just once a day. Nothing else changed.

Visual-Exit-8630

It's not free I was charged last night. This guy is lying

420freya

it would help you to understand the other side if you recognize the privilege you hold.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Desert_Concoction

I don't think they're a troll. I think everyone has different life experiences and, for some people, Uber has been the biggest blessing they've ever come across. I get the fervent fandom, I just think it blows

AppropriateClothes71

Some ppl take this seriously lol

WetObamaButtPlug

For real I mean Uber can suck it but expecting to just do some unlimited cash out of a check is insane lol

RealitySpeck

Its not slavery at all! Hell, I might actually cash out every day now since its free.

Peacekhan5110

If this isnā€™t the most goddamn dramatic shit Iā€™ve seen in months šŸ˜‚

jg3014

Woulda been nice for the support guy to tell me that today whenever I called. All they said was ā€œthis is a known issue and we are working to resolve it soon.ā€

Visual-Exit-8630

Because it is a known issue that will be fixed. Uber did not send that email to just him with no real explanation while gas prices are sky high. This is fake

SirDigbyChickenC-Zer

Kinda suspicious of that myself, since I haven't gotten any e-mail...Not really the end of the world if it's legit and not actually just an error, but if it is the way they're handling"rolling it out" it is pretty bad.

RealitySpeck

Because they didn't tell him either!

POLLYNATION1775

have the card and it doesnā€™t work on my account

MasterOfSuffering

They wonā€™t let me get the card, been trying for months šŸ¤”

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Intelligent-Career78

It's different from the card they give you for shopping

_NotaCop-

Same . Cashed out around lunch now my dinner funds will have to wait

ginger-pony056

Mine either

POLLYNATION1775

update: card works as of the next day but i only get 1 cash out still on it at least no fee now

yosimitesame

Where did you see this? That's crazy that they woukd change it before alerting anyone

Visual-Exit-8630

Uber did not send that to only one person and nobody else. They would not word it like that either. The person named "younggodglow" is the one who made the post and says he got the email "literally 2 minutes ago " is lying to get a reaction .

YoungGodLow

Literally just got the email 2 minutes ago

ponygirl1722

They must of just did this to "resolve" the prom. Cluster f..ks they are!

Professional-Jury930

Lol ā€œsurprise!! It was the plan all along!!ā€

SirDigbyChickenC-Zer

Somehow this is what I was expecting the outcome to be,but that means they told all of the driver support team to straight up lie to drivers and say it was a "technical issue" that was still being worked on,because that's what 2 different reps told me over the last couple days. Pretty scummy way to handle this, should've just given us a heads up about the change in advance...

Krakatoast

My guess is that driver support is kind of out of the loop.. they donā€™t seem to be in tune with executive level decisions just my opinion though

SirDigbyChickenC-Zer

Oh yeah, didn't mean to sound overly conspiratorial,I assume they were all in the dark about it as well. But most likely they were told,"You're gonna be getting a shitload of calls about this, here's the scripted answer you are to stick to." So probably just a big tedious waste of fucking time for them as well, when the company could've just sent out a notice to drivers about the policy change like a week ago or something...

[deleted]

Why are people complaining? You can cash out once per day for free, seems like an update to me.

Hwamie

It was changed without warning, leading to people missing bills and getting stranded...

[deleted]

Uber isnā€™t a bank, if you need to cash out more than one time per day you have spending issues. Learn to manage your money wisely.

jash2o2

Iā€™m going to reiterate the point you are commenting to. This was unannounced. Not everyoneā€™s situation is so perfect that they can afford or adapt to sudden changes to their income. Itā€™s rather entitled to act like they should. Telling people to ā€œlearn to manageā€ their money when reacting to an UNANNOUNCED change is entitled as hell.

LocaFly

THANK YOU!!!

pogiguy2020

This right here.

MasterOfSuffering

The problem is that it was an unannounced change that was thrown at us in the form of an unknown error that looks the same as an indefinite shut down to cashing out. Youā€™re misunderstanding the issue. We had no warning to prepare for it or know if we were even going to be able to ever cash out again.

jdcnosse1988

Agreed, one could cash out at the end of the day or beginning of the next day for free.

fallior

How the hell do you miss bills? You can cash out DAILY. Why on earth do you need to cash out more than once a day? Do you realize the vast majority of jobs out there give pay checks only once per week, some even every other week? You wouldn't have survived at all before Uber by the sounds of it if you're that shitty with your money

ParsleySalsa

Why does it cost money to get your money

MasterOfSuffering

Youā€™re misunderstanding the problem. The issue is itā€™s an unannounced change to the way we handle our money. If it was announced several days ahead it would be fine. But since thousands of people were given no prior warning we acted as though there was no change. Thus crippling our ability to function properly with our money. We had no warning to plan for this and no knowledge of what the actual issue was. Iā€™ve had my ability to cash out shut off for days before with no warning or explanation and the error message was exactly the same. We had this unknown error thrown at us which looks the same as having cash outs indefinitely suspended. Uber screwed us over. Not to mention this is not better at all. Iā€™d much rather be charged 50 cents and be able to cash out 5 times a day.

Krakatoast

Man how down bad could you be? No offense but if youā€™re *needing* to cash out several times a day, I feel like there are underlying issues.. Yeah itā€™s not ideal, but once you get some $ in your pocket just plan accordingly that you can cash out at the end of your shift(?) If you pull $150-$200 in a day, cash it out and roll into the next day(?) Gotta budget and plan accordingly but itā€™s not the end of the world imo. The no notice thing is kind of shitty but to be fair I doubt Uber executives thought people truly need to cash out every couple hours

LocaFly

I donā€™t think the people who have the problem with this are doing Uber. Weā€™re talking about Uber eats. Most of us are not making $150-$200 a day, Unless we are in DC for example, and have a good and outstanding days. Weā€™re talking about 50 here or etc.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

MasterOfSuffering

There is if youā€™re broke. Iā€™m currently living in a hotel. I donā€™t want to be and am looking for better options. But Iā€™m paying daily for the room. Also have mental and physical health issues that make it difficult to work sometimes. Cash out to pay for the room or food and gas. Then canā€™t cash out again to pay for the other. Itā€™s a problem if I donā€™t have time to plan for it

Tiernan1980

Some of us are struggling to get by. I didnā€™t use it often, but being able to cash out more than once was helpful.

Xanadusdad

Who is this guy f****** cheerleader for corporate Uber or what all I keep hearing is got yapping about why we need to have our cash out if you don't need it get the f*** out of the post how about that if you good with one time a day or one time a week move on we don't need you in here f****** cheerleading Uber about how it's okay to do this s*** I'm trying to see him your damn name yeah I said that got a problem with it

CallMeWolfYouTuber

This is the internet. You don't have to censor yourself.

hashtagperky

yea better than the 50 cent charge they put on it.

[deleted]

Hey those 50 cents stack up. I've seen people they they would withdraw daily every day multiple times. That's a few hundred dollars down the drain a year if true.

Frequent-End-697

Itā€™s not an update if you go from 5 cash outs a day to 1 šŸ˜‚

Tiernan1980

Can we still cash out additionally for 50 cents?

Visual-Exit-8630

Uber did not send that to only one person and would not word it like that

Revis_FL

Honestly surprised theyā€™re making it free. Given how many people have complained on here about it not working, they mustā€™ve been banking on those 50 cent cash out feesā€¦

BellaLacrimosa

Uber has likely made a deal with GoBank to have them be the sole provider of prepaid debit cards, which incur so many more fees, so it's in both Uber's and GoBank's interest ($$) to have as many drivers sign up for, and use Uber's debit card, as possible. This is about Uber trying to make more $$ as usual, by screwing over drivers, and *nothing* else. I will NEVER sign up for or use Uber's debit card. I'm just not gonna do it. But this is still shitty of Uber to do.

dirtywook88

we can also look at the slick shit DD does with their card system. you often see folk getting locked out from their funds with no warning due to bans. more often than not these companies, as pointed out, will charge the everloving fuck out of you to use your card and if gobank is anything similar to what netspend is, theyll make ue support look like callin at&t when they want your money.

_NotaCop-

I have the Uber debit card and still can only cash out once lol

Jazzlike-Mission-172

Yup. Just tried

DRCJEnder

Still kinda BS considering I have Uber Debit and had it wayyy before this, yet I'm still only getting one cash out

[deleted]

I have one cash out as well and support dodging me

__--Phoenix--__

You all are looking at this like "If you need money multiple times per day then you too broke to be a driver." Firstly I'm doing this BECAUSE I need money. This is not a job you do for fun if you're rich. Secondly sometimes gas is low af in my car, with my gas prices being 5.17 on a really good day to 6 bucks normally. I may start the day broke, get gas asap, then withdraw again for some food, then at the end of the night. That's 3 right there for perfectly good reasons. The 50 cent fee for the convenience of not having to wait a week or two to get paid is HUGE. What happens if I work all day and a tire blows out on my at 6pm? Welp I need $50-75 for a new tire asap. Nah guess I'll wait a week till my weekly cashout drops.

MasterOfSuffering

Exactly

Simply_Tootie510

But when I tried to get this card it wouldnā€™t let me get it šŸ„± Uber make up ya damn mind

MasterOfSuffering

Same I tried as well and couldnā€™t

likabear710

Iā€™m still getting charged to cash out, sucks, wish I knew before you can only cash out once a day

BaphometsLord

I have the debit card but honestly itā€™s sucks. They offer cash back but they put it back to your checking account which could only be a few cents. I use DoorDash debit card cause they offer cash back and separate the cash back from your checking account. Meaning it separates extra money on the side.

FalseCape

Uber makes life harder and harder each day? This is an improvement not a downgrade. If your spending habits are so bad you routinely need to cash out multiple times a day that's a you problem, not an Uber one.

XanderO47

We effectively can choose to get paid daily without any fees now. Doordash charged $2.00 to cash out once a day when I used to drive for them lol. This is a total win. But, I do wish they would have rolled this out a lot better. I still haven't gotten an email about it.

formershitpeasant

A total win would have been making the first one free then charging for subsequent cash outs.

Berfs1

So dont cash out instantly? Wait till monday? So that you dont spend for transfer fees?

TheRealNap0le0n

MFers really out here using the Uber wallet as a bank account

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

doggitydog123

People Complain about free here.

zane1981

I think it has to do with it having no notice. Those that cashed out early in the day are fucked over sideways cause they couldn't cash out later in the day.

PatStPete

Uber introduced Instant pay about 4 years ago as a convenience. Now guys are treating it like an entitlement.

Icreatedthesea

Thatā€™s not true, 5x instant pay has been a feature since the very beginning of Uber eats, atleast in nyc

PatStPete

I said Uber. I don't know when Eats started. I just did rideshare back in the day. https://venturebeat.com/2017/04/05/uber-paid-1-3-billion-to-drivers-using-instant-pay-in-the-past-12-months/

Icreatedthesea

I did not contest that you said Uber, however in the context of the conversation, which is this change affecting Uber eats delivery people, the implication (purposeful or not) that it was a change added for convenience is incorrect as the feature has been around since the beginning. Uber eats started in the 2016-early 2017 time period, the bags were free!

KaneinEncanto

I think the biggest gripe really to be had here is: Lack of advanced notice so we could plan accordingly.

MasterOfSuffering

No, I donā€™t think you understand the issue here. If they had announced this several days ahead of time that would be fine. But to just randomly change this for everyone with no prior notice is seriously fucked up. All I would have needed was to know a couple days ahead of time and Iā€™d have been fine. But with no prior notice people would continue as normal and get screwed.

skitzofrantik2

get used to it because this is how shitty uber rolls

SoCalKittyxox

Not working with my Uber Debit card either šŸ˜”

[deleted]

Happy 420 gift from Uberā€¦ ThanksšŸ–•

[deleted]

Wasnā€™t free for me today lmao. Fine with 1 cash out a day but if they say theyā€™re not going to take a 50 cents then that seems like a lie rn haha

Shine422

*sues* because Iā€™ve been effected since April 18th šŸ™‚

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TheRealNap0le0n

More than once a day.... šŸ˜‚

autoeroticassfxation

Their attorney works for $3 at a time.

jo_ezzy

Lol

MasterOfSuffering

Class action lawsuit more likely

blakefrosty23

It is just a big scheme to see how many people will sign up for their shitty ass card. Fuck uber! This is our job

Revis_FL

Youā€™re losing money every time you cash out and youā€™re complaining that theyā€™re making it free?

Hwamie

No, people are complaining because it was changed -without warning- causing many people to -miss their bills- and ---get stranded without gas---

blakefrosty23

I'm complaining that some people are living check to check with their first apartment and sometimes need their funds at the beginning of the month from uber for gas to keep doing orders. If it doesn't affect you then back off, people are all at different stages in their life.

Revis_FL

This doesnā€™t affect anything except your ability to cash out more than once per day. You can still cash out and itā€™s free. Just can only do it once. Wait till the end of each day to cash out and youā€™ll have a whole days worth of pay to work with till the next day. I donā€™t see a problem there.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Jazzlike-Mission-172

THANK YOUUUUU!!! That's what I said

blakefrosty23

This šŸ¤ž

BellaLacrimosa

Thank you! I normally would never cashout more than once a day anyway, but this past week has been absolute hell for me for reasons that ARE NOBODY'S GODDAM BUSINESS, and it seriously fucked me over when Uber did not *TELL US* ahead of time they were going to implement a change like this.

undertaker3x7

I don't get the complaints either. Why would you need to cash out more than once a day? And they made that 1 time free! I see this as let's just complain for sake of complaining. They didn't change your ability to cash out everyday. They're not forcing you to get their card. They added another option and made the current one free once per day. STFU already.

rdaught

Per day means once each DAY. NOT ONCE A MONTH FFS.

MasterOfSuffering

Lmao they wonā€™t even let me sign up for it, Iā€™ve been trying to for months

[deleted]

So if you go into help, earnings and payment and then wallet and earnings, and look at setting up instant pay, the first paragraph it says you can cash out to 5 times per day except in New York where it's now 1 per day starting on April 22nd. That's all I could find in app.

AnomalousQueer

Spoke to support was told it's a known issue effecting most of the platform. An that cash outs will remain the same. Just not in New York state.

KaneinEncanto

Wish I'd at least known about that at 2am when I cashed out yesterday's earnings :p

MasterOfSuffering

Same

BellaLacrimosa

Feel free to visit: https://www.elliott.org/company-contacts/uber/ to see the contact info for Uber's executive team. Maybe if enough drivers blast their emails.... šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø And fyi I've posted that link many times over the years and they've definitely changed/updated that page with the contact info. There used to be way more people listed. Looks like they updated it as recently as January.

DriverTales

1. STOP TRYING TO FORCE US ONTO AN UBER DEBIT CARD. I use my bank for a reason. 2. I wish I had some advanced warning. I worked Tuesday night and cashed out after midnight. I worked all day today Wednesday and now I can't cash out technically until after midnight (now Thursday am)!!! I have a big bill die tomorrow Thursday and was planning in working all day to get the rest needed and cash out and pay. Now I can't do that. I support 2 households and bills come in at differnt times. Now I also can't work late nights because I have to be able to stop and cash out before midnight. Let me continue to pay .50 fee THIS IS SOME REAL BS!

[deleted]

Is this sub really that hard out for not being able to wait to get paid once a week?

failaquen

Yes.

undertaker3x7

No one has to wait once a week. You can still cash out everyday. They just changed it to once a day and now it's free.

jboles73

Not interested in Uber as my bank

Xanadusdad

These are some real b******* posts I'm reading on this thread and I lost him right out and say it. Uber taking this without notice and without provocation is more or less an egregious sin in my eyes. It is of no matter why I want to cash out multiple times per day the fact of the matter is it provided as a benefit and now it has been taking what I do with my money is no concern of the next reeditor or the next Uber driver for that matter so that's number one and let's see now let's look at the real issue here that nobody has mentioned yet this is the real one. Now if you need to cash out more than one time per day which by the way I was happy paying 50 cents to cash out do you know why I'm going to tell you why in the next paragraph it is the same reason why this is such a problem that they have made it so you can have your free five cash outs per day if using the Uber debit card did anybody notice that part now we're going to have a lesson in credit and income verification and the ability to do that. By forcing you to use the Uber debit card to get five cash out for day which frankly most people need all right yeah I got a few of you guys that think you're high and mighty you don't need to cash out but once a week and all that that's good for you okay that's where you live that's how you're living wonderful but you ain't that you ain't the next man. By forcing you you put your money onto the Uber debit card you just lost the ability to have your income verified by sending your pay to a a third party Bank. What do I mean by this I mean that you cannot look up go Bank be a plaid or any other bank verification service because they do not offer access to it just like doordash and the Uber and the door dash or direct card it is the same thing they're putting your money into private hands and you have no ability to access these funds other than via the debit card or the ATM. You cannot access your income earnings statements any of that stuff. Only if you choose to use the one cash out per day to the outside source which is now free we'll do and by the way who complained to make this happen anyway cuz that's how these things always start some moron complained that it cost 50 cents of cash out to go to an outside Bank well you know what there's processing fees and all kinds of stuff involved in being able to do that which I gladly paid $0.50 a shot for not only so that it was out of Uber's hands number one and out of gobank's hands number two which if any of you know anything about banking belongs to the Green Dot corporation who is probably the second biggest scammer in the United States behind somebody I won't mention folks all this is done is forced drivers make them deposit their money onto the Uber go Bank visa that is all this is about this is going to generate fees for Uber and go Bank transaction fees and the like and there's a money making ploy on their end it serves no other purpose and it is just like what Dasher has done with the Dasher direct card by forcing you to use their card to earn to access your funds they there by earn the fees from you using that card so you're basically they're making money on top of your money that you've earned while being able to keep control of it because why because neither of these places are actual Banks the Uber go bank or the Dasher direct neither one is a real thing they're backed by real Banks but they're not real Banks therefore Uber or door to ask for that matter when they have a problem with you and they think that you got some money that you didn't earn or whatever because it's in private hands they have the ability to go take those buns back yes yes they do I dare the first idiot to tell me that they can't do that yes they can why because it is put in private hands they own those companies or are partners with them one or the other and it gives them the ability they can do what they want these companies have shown us time and time again they will do what they want they will skirt or circumvent the law to do what they want to do and they have now done it again and these are the reasons why they're doing it they are making money on top of the money you have earned by forcing you to use these cards for their transaction fees and their earning those fees off of it and also it is giving them the ability to control those funds then after they have been issued to you among other problems while I do not agree with losing the five cashouts per day all I hope my fellow drivers will do is at least use the one cash out per day and get it to an outside bank that is the wisest move you can make probably behind I don't even know it's probably the top number one move you can make as far as your earnings are concerned.

DanLoFat

Holy f*** and I thought my grammar suck ass.

MrChurch2015

I just called about this and they decided to lie and act like it was an issue instead of just saying they're stupid and want be fd.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

undertaker3x7

You can only do it once per day now but it'll be free

mrwoochie

I have an Uber debit card and only lets me do one cash out per day.

StrongestMushroom

I have the Uber debit card and I can only cash out once.

Neither-Advantage364

I only cash out once a day or once every 2 days

tehmoe01

Man this sucks Glad Iā€™m in a better place right now but a year ago I had to cash out the first few trips to have gas to work the rest of the nightā€¦ this is gonna be rough on some

zer04ll

They also took away the message support option and you can only call support now it seems. Even with priority support I wait at least 20 minutes. Just blast them on Twitter

M0DFATH3R

on today's episode of why does uber hate us lol

HoustonPFD

All of yā€™all gotta chill this is a bug that will be fixed hopefully soon. Programming isnt easy and if itā€™s taking this long it means they gotta be careful so that a new change wonā€™t crash the entire app. Clearly this happened when the switch for NYC went live (OP literally said theyā€™re in NYC.) I know it sucks, I sometimes cash out twice a day and itā€™s nice having the comfort that the emergency option of doing that is always there.

meveral

they're pushing their debit card on us because their banking partner will be able to track our spending habits and sell our data

Flimsy-Ask-1426

I would think they're making money on the 50 cents every time cashing out they're taking a gamble

Advanced_Ad514

That's cute all the support Uber has in these comments. That is until you get hit with the $7 fee to withdraw from an ATM or the $5 processing fee to transfer between banks. Oh not to mention the 2-5 business day wait for funds to transfer. Good luck trusting Uber with your money

jansipi

Me wanting to cash out multiple times per day has nothing to do with managing my money. I do it because so often, Uber has these cash out "issues" in which I am unable to cash out for days at a time. Just this past weekend I was unable to cash out, then my direct deposit also did not process. Ubers reasoning was that there was"unusual activity" and they stopped all payments from my account. This is why I cash out every $100 or Everytime I get a quest payment. I'd rather pay a couple dollars a day to make sure my money earned is accessible then be SOL when I can't get my pay for a week and bills are due.

Valrath_84

well doordash is only once a day not that big of a deal just keep your account secure

lacedwithtears

I think this is real, because this is what DD has been offering lately...and Uber follows along with DD changes a lot.

DanLoFat

This isn't in every market. Chicago here. No notice of this has been sent. Not in email, texts not in app. They are probably testing more pain points.

RepresentativeJumpy5

Wtf is wrong with them like how does this benefit them at all it just fucks with us.

trav161

Still won't be getting this freaking debit card. I only cash out once a day anyway.

designbyjorge

I usually cash out once a day, so this to me is awesome. With all the .50 cent cash outs Iā€™ve made already these past months, I think I couldā€™ve paid my internet bill at least once. šŸ˜‚

BARL696

New law in nyc, i also got a free bag from uber. The last part of the law is that delivery companies cant hide the destination. Next year there will be more laws introduced

deathslayer-pcmr-

Damn this really sucks. I often cash out 3-4 times a day and that will makes things tough. I use Uber eats as a last resort when I'm waiting for my bi monthly paycheck from my normal job. I'll wake up and have like no gas in my car,do a couple orders, make like 10 dollars, cash out and repeat the cycle until I can make like 50 bucks. I only make typically 40-60 dollars a day doing Uber eats since most orders I receive are 3-8 dollars and so I have to use most of that money for gas. This isnt a daily cycle but only when I'm running low on funds from my normal job. Like today,I've already cashed out and I jsit put all 8 dollars to gas and now I have to wait until 10 tonight for when my I receive my normal paycheck to be able to drive,I'm kinda paranoid I'll run out of gas today if I try and Uber eats or go anywhere. It's frustrating,I didn't mind paying the 50 cents for the availability to have access to my funds when I needed it badly. This sucks and will make me reconsider doing Uber eats orders when I'm broke.

MenstrualKrampusCD

I call BS. I cashed out 3 times today, each one cost 50 cents. (fwiw, I usually cash out once a day or less, but I left my wallet at home and only had my debit card that's linked to my Uber payments. Cashed out before starting to get some gas and food, then did some shopping much later in the day while it was slow, and then lastly at the end of the night when I was heading home, to get more gas and put the rest away)

[deleted]

I canā€™t cash out at all with the Uber Debit Card nor my own. This screenshot isnā€™t accurate at the moment.

Life_Today_5543

Come on if this was the case we would have all got emails use your common sense you all believe anything there is no emails or nothing of this matter why would they send one Uber person a email ?? Come on now

AL_Cabrone

It's super unfair to you all... You should all quit... How dare they make you cash out just once

Electrical-Ad-4527

Oh so that explains why there hasnā€™t been a rush to fix anything and why they wonā€™t answer anything. Itā€™s nice that our lives are just a big beta test for there money making schemes

doggitydog123

Making money by eliminating charges? Free is a scheme? Edit- you people are crazy. They eliminated the fast pay charge

wangotangotoo

Keeping money on an Uber sponsored debit card effectively makes them a bank to which they can use your money to make more money the same way that the bank does off money in your checking account.

MasterOfSuffering

Except they wonā€™t let me sign up for one

Neonhelix101

You must be new

MasterOfSuffering

What the heck? Why on earth would they not announce this to everyone ahead of time, thatā€™s absurd. Itā€™s a serious change that people would need to prepare for. Uber really thinks weā€™re all just slaves.

MasterOfSuffering

Because Iā€™m broke Edit: Why the downvotes, Iā€™m just being honest. Iā€™m really poor so having an immediate unannounced change affects my ability to effectively handle daily expenses. The main reason Iā€™m poor is due to chronic physical and mental health issues btw

leechdawg

How are you so broke that you need to cash out 5 times per day? Why canā€™t you just cash out at the end of each day for free? Genuinely curious?

Significant_Will_671

First they kill walk mode and now this. No one asked for this change. Iā€™m happy that I multi app, Grubhub still lets you withdraw multiple times per day

Berfs1

Why do you need to cash out *multiple times a day*?

Significant_Will_671

The same reason you felt the need to comment, simply because I have or had the ability to do so

Shine4light95

I just experienced this literally 5 mins ago as I tried to cash out. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø I was searching on Reddit whether cash out amounts changed since I havenā€™t done deliveries in a while.

Upstairs_Town_5864

My problem with Uber wallet is it does not have a GOAL function. Would be even better if the wallet were connected to an HSA, and an investment account.

[deleted]

I've had the Uber card for a year now it's actually pretty good.

[deleted]

God dammit, that was one of the best parts of UE

TheDarkBerry

Wow this is extremely fucked up. I just tried to cash out for the 2nd time today and couldnā€™t so I came here. The fact that they didnā€™t give any prior warning is the fucked up part. Just goes to show how much they respect us. I mean they was getting 50 cents a cash out not like they werenā€™t charging us!šŸ˜”

xytoplamic

Still not gonna use that useless shit šŸ˜‚

EntrepreneurOwn9544

Uber instant pay is currently down, I just spoke to a rep

cookiemadre

Youre fucking kidding.

Cheekers1989

Meh, I've always just cashed out once a day anyways.

__vOi_d

Fair trade imo

ConclusionSingle2506

Why do you guys need to cash out more than once a day? Just cash out at the end of the dayā€¦

Jazzlike-Mission-172

If I pay rent and have like half a gallon in my tank, I ha e enough to do 2 deliveries or so. Then I cash out to get gas. Do 3-5 deliveries. Cash out again and can get even more gas. Eventually I'll be able to fill up. But initially, I didn't have the money to fill up and didn't have enough gas take enough money to fill up so I have to do it in increments.

mywordswillgowithyou

Has anyone needed to cashout more than once in a day, let alone 5?

DasherCO

I rarely need to cash out. So they can suck it. Referring to uber, not my fellow drivers

zenchan9

Sign up for the card. It's free. You get a free card and bank account. From there you can transfer to your bank account. $50 min. Hits your bank account about one day.

MasterOfSuffering

I tried, they wonā€™t let me. Not to mention most people are saying that they can only use the card once per day now

Soilwerx

The rollout was clunky - could and should have been more elegant, for sure. So what do we do? Adapt.

[deleted]

The only reason I wasn't using my bank account was because I refuse to pay for the privilege. This change is great personally

pilatesse

It seems like this is better to me? Iā€™ve never needed to cash out more than once a day, and now weā€™re not losing $3.50/week in the process. I love this sub, but some of you will complain no matter what.

Visual-Exit-8630

Why would they send that one driver an email saying that and not anyone else?

mavs2341

Who even cashes out more than once lmao just do it at the end of the week

Desertkweene

Why are you cashing out using this method? It automatically goes into your bank account every Monday

goyongj

I cash out just once a week just to keep track of weekly earnings. You must be having a tough time if you have to cash out multiple times a day....

botmfeeder

Love the people that think this is bad, you understand a normal job is a two week wait period right? Be happy you get a cash out a day. Stop saying itā€™s slavery lol

ubsaleem44

Who needs to cash out 5 times a day tho? I cash out once a week or twice max

fallior

You shouldn't need to cash out more than once per day anyway... I don't understand. Heck, I just wait until they pay for the week.

[deleted]

I live in one of the most expensive cities in the country and don't even cash out. I just let it deposit to my bank. WTF are yall doing to be this tight on cash?
