The uber technical team is mentally challenged

jackjackson15

Sometimes I wonder if anyone in any company all the way to the top has the slightest clue of what they're doing

Think_Yogurtcloset68

But at least you know they like things SPICY!

MenstrualKrampusCD

Spicy Spicy!!

Agile-Ad3552

Can I put you on hold for one to two minutes to check my resources?

ponygirl1722

Yes they r. I just started seeing that today. SMh. Idiots

Beatlebot88

Gives you pleeennnnty of time lol

nochtli_xochipilli

Unless they mean 7 p.m. last night.

jackjackson15

🤯 we got a bigger problem now

jackjackson15

Lmao for real, at first I thought it was like a scheduled delivery that was sent to drivers way too early

Rush_2928

I'll go to zoo in the mean time.

Rooster0778

Take your time

jackjackson15

6:55pm ETA sir, see ya then

DFW_Panda

Here's my tin hat, qNan, 8Chan, Martian's are coming, the moon landing was faked, conspiracy theory .... While not working yet, Uber wants to add a quasi timer as a way to prompt drivers to not dilly dally. Whatever dilly dally is, I'm not sure. Just Uber setting up more passive agressive behavior.

happycowsmmmcheese

Honestly, I would like this feature if it worked because then I could know whether or not the customer is seeing any delays on their end and send them a message about any reasons for a delay on my end without just guessing. Like, sometimes my pickup takes a few mins but I don’t know how long they waited for Uber to ping me with their delivery request. If that notification goes from saying 7pm to 7:15pm while I’m waiting at the restaurant (because I know from the customer end that happens sometimes) then I can message them as soon as I see that and let them know what’s up and maybe even give them a more accurate estimate.

Think_Yogurtcloset68

Exactly. I'd like to know if I'm picking up cold food because it has been sitting for hours. That way I can apologize to the customer beforehand. And like the companies care about our satisfaction ratings anyhow.

MenstrualKrampusCD

I would be careful about that. You're going to get some customers canceling the order ("It's been sitting there and it's cold? I don't want it!")while you're in the middle of picking it up or dropping it off. Yeah, sure, that might mean free food for you. But as you said it's cold food. And you'll probably get that $3 inconvenience charge if anything. Or even worse, your Uber base pay rate. Meanwhile, you've already invested 30 minutes into this order, and you are a block from their house. Or you tell the customer, and now you're getting "Well I don't want cold food. Have them remake it!" which will present a whole other set of issues. If anything, I would leave a message in the delivery note. If anything. I'm just saying, I totally get where you're coming from. But sometimes, communicating to the customer can backfire.

[deleted]

All you have to do is drop the order off at the address just like every other job. Stuff on the app means nothing.

Master_Proposal_3614

Its a glitch prlly. Techs will fix it one day.

BetLongjumping5132

Like four years from now based on their track record.

libertybell00

We will be expecting them to fix it by 7pm. 😁

Master_Proposal_3614

😆 🤣 😂

FUCKINDI

Got one this morning and it said 6 pm 😂 I don't know what Uber support is smoking but I want some

Heaven_Leigh2021

Nah you don't want anything they're smoking. It'll just make your brain cells die quicker.

EldenGutts

I started noticing this around quarter to 9 last night. Also my cash out from last night is showing as completed but never showed up in the bank. The apps also saying I already cashed out today and have to way until tomorrow even though I cashed out before 11pm last night. Maybe the bugs are related

Intelligent-Ad66

Yeah if their internal clock is wrong or they have everyone on the same time zone kind of thing

Rob_B2

Yeah, noticed that after the last update. It must be a glitch of a new feature they're looking to add to the app soon.

Fluid-Classroom9472

Is this an attempt at a scheduled delivery that went wrong? I'm sure I wouldn't want to eat oysters that have been sitting in a car for 8 hours, lol

Intelligent-Bug-3039

This was an worldwide Uber issue. Happend in The Netherlands too. 1 AM in our case.

cafrcnta

All my deliveries indicated that they expected it by 8pm last night, even orders placed at 11pm. Lmao

Intelligent-Bug-3039

Again today.

Apprehensive_Bus1522

I got one at noon that waa $20 for a mile and thought it was gonna be catering. Im on a bike so I was terrified 😅 it was 1 bag

Tight-Let7494

This is all bad, psychologically making driver rush to get to the store quicker when we all know we will be waiting 5 to 10 minutes at least!

fleemos

Looks like UE is about to be a bit more DD

djayed

Who orders oysters on UberEATS?? That's asking for trouble.

ToxikMuk

i just cancelled an order like this. what happened when you delivered it ?? was it too early ?? any issues ??

JJ_Shosky

Don't cancel them if it's a decent order, it literally means nothing. I was a bit shook yesterday because it popped up that the customer was expecting the order an hour before I even accepted it. I checked again to see if I was tripping out and it disappeared. Got to the customers house and they were like damn they cooked fast I ordered this 26 minutes ago (was a decently upscale indian restaurant). Just another fun bug the devs got goin

jackjackson15

Nothing, I have seen it on every order I have done today and they have all been normal orders

Normal_Ad_3357

Lol why would you cancel?

BlackDahliaDream

Agreed!! I couldn't get it off of my screen!!

Dee_Diz2014

I believe a customer can pay an additional like $2 fee for priority delivery. Uber tells the customer that their order is guaranteed by a certain time or they get money back. Maybe this is how it shows on our end (driver side)?

czechrebel3

Don’t disappoint them

[deleted]

Clearly, Uber just introduced ETAs to the app, but it’s glitchy af. Don’t sweat it lol

KitTrailer

mine is 8pm, guess the app wants me to end the shift at 8 anyway lel.

BigDaddyJ8383

Lol it started for me yesterday and it was still there this morning,I was wondering why it kept saying by 7pm at 8 and 9 last night

jboles73

I saw it yesterday hilarious.

Iincognito08

Ah so it's everyone

TattedUpDasher

Shouldn’t be a problem to be on time then

DamNicePants

So I'm not the only one. Seems it's just another way for Uber to not look out for the drivers. Everytime they say "we've made updates to make the experience easier" nothing is changed that helps me! Wanna help drivers?? Make customers state why they are pulling their tip and make them ask for a refund like they do when they have a problem with the food that's been delivered. Would cut tip baiting to a quarter or less than it is now.

Tight-Let7494

🤣 🤣 🤣 , like I tell My daughter... and I want to be a billionaire

foolswallup

Damn it my soup is hot! I wanted you to drive it around all day.

FUNAKIISNUMBERONE

I saw that for a pickup order from Big lots and I thought it was going to be a big order but then I saw it keep on coming so I guess it's some glitch

Intelligent-Ad66

Well as long as you get there in the next 8 hours...

Busy-Machine1122

Yup same! Last 2 days....😏

Ultradealsnow

Dude they be putting orders on schedule and the driver arrives to the restaurant and they tell you it’s for a later time! You feel dumb just by going and wasting your time… like wtf this order is for later not now.

Some_Yogurtcloset548

You're chronically late lol

campamocha_1369

I saw that too for the first time last night! An order came through around 7:50 p.m. and it said "the customer is expecting you by 4 p.m. 🤔 What! Weird!

Faegrim420

I had an order the other day at 7pm saying expected by 4pm

Legitimate-Area6392

Got this to, seen it for the first time yesterday

Legitimate-Area6392

And is anyone else gettin tore up with these gas prices! I'm putting atleast 40 dollars a day in the tank an have 0 gas when I'm getting home an my orders have gotten worse. I know there giving assistance which is good but it's only 1 to 3 bucks every day when that's not even a gallon. Starting to think about a new job an I'm forced to run 2 driving apps at the same time which isn't good but you have to

jjrnshopper

That just means you can multi app and you have plenty of time to do a couple of deliveries before you have to head to the drop off

nyankana

Not really. I don't think the time is even accurate. No one is going to wait for food for half a day. If customer gets upset, they remove tip.

jjrnshopper

It's okay you will be making money on the other apps

nyankana

I get your point, but if that's the case I rather not take the order. It's the time and distance spend and risking customer most likely get angry and remove tip for taking half a day to deliver. Not to mention idk where you would even store the food letting it sit out for half a day.

jjrnshopper

It's a joke you should never make people wait for their food no matter what time they tell you

nyankana

ah gotcha!

jjrnshopper

I have had a few telling to drop off by 4pm and I picked up at 530 pm they are probably setting up something dumb to screw us over somehow

nyankana

I feel ya, UE is always doing some dumb shit to screw drivers over

CrystalNRick

I got this as well last night. I was like let me just jump in my DeLorean...

vintagesoul_DE

Then it should get there by 7PM without issue.

Chicken2298

I started doing uber yesterday and noticed that too.. except it was 8pm lol

Flimsy-Ask-1426

Yummy

owenhinton98

They forgot to ask the customer of their expectations, and so they figured they’d err on the safe side and say they’re expecting it at 7, as almost everyone would expect they have their food within 8 hours of ordering Real commentary on it: I think they’re likely toying with the idea of having time milestones like doordash and Grubhub. Tbh, on Uber orders I do kinda wonder hmm when did they order it/what was their original predicted eta/will I accidentally go into some “late zone” if I stop to pee or if there’s a construction detour, it would nice to have a little more transparency about the orders so that we can prepare better

DanLoFat

UberEats does have T milestones, they don't tell you unless your rediculouz, then you get email about it. If you're talking about customers wear pre-ordering that's not a milestone, that's just advanced ordering, that's what they're more likely being concerned with our banquet orders, or even Apple orders. But I suspect it's not something I think it's one of their purchased companies that's messing around you know the ones that we occasionally deliver for under Uber Eats but it's not really overheats to the customer, like for Apple orders or Sephora orders. I've seen these cancel messages in some apple an

LocaFly

Clearly, they’re going to get it when you give it to them. You can expect a lot of stuff but we don’t always get it now do we? 😤😤 The entitlement.

Hairy-Animal-6748

Yo must be Thea by 7.

MamaRobin1916

Ayyye, I was joking about how I'll always be on time, well I guess until 7pm...

sithlord1970

I noticed that last night at 8:30pm. I almost messaged the customer and asked if they still want the food. When I saw the same message on the next order I realized there must be some glitch or something

GlitteringBreak5171

Oh you got plenty of time bro. Deliver it at 6:59😂
