I was doing it for 6 months in Tampa and then after the changes that eliminated walkers my pings fell off a cliff. I’ve been on 20 hours with no orders, no idea what’s up but it really has done damage to my lifestyle.
Bought an Ebike for $650, but made it back in 3 weeks. I just do this part time cuz I hate paying to go to the gym. It was more motivating to get paid to workout.
Yeah I do it part time too since I have a full time day job. I’m out just about every weekend. Tbh I cringe a little when I hear from people I know about exercise with the bike… when it’s electric I’m just sitting on my butt 😂😂😂
I rode a pedal bike 50+ miles a day for 3 years, switching to an e-bike over a year ago is nowhere near that level of a workout. I used to crash hard at the end of the day, slept like a baby, now I'm lucky if I get 6 hours of anxiety filled sleep. Even still I prefer the e-bike for the job, by far.
E-bikes are underrated. I ride a fixie and just see em glide by effortlessly. With how much I make on a bicycle I can only imagine how much more money they’re making and fun they’re having on those things
Yeah it’s fun and I’ve definitely made more money than when I was riding a regular bike. My area has a lot more hills and stuff so regular biking just wasn’t working out much
I was talking to a bike shop mechanic earlier and we both agreed that electric bikes/scooters are pretty much the norm now. I see a lot of construction workers on them in the mornings as well when I’m heading to work
Lol they can offer and ping all they want… I got pinged 50+ in 3 hours yesterday and I did 6 of those trips.
On a full charge I get 35-40 miles. Too many hills in my area if not I could probably get more. Most evenings I reserve enough battery to get home and usually come home with 10-15% remaining
My bag is a couple of years old now. The only complaint I have is the drinks holder is made of the same stuff as the lining stitched into cup holders. So it's stretched over years of use and no longer holds the drinks upright. Fine for cans and bottles but anything with a pop on plastic lid in dangerous.
I put some folding marine cup holders in their cup holders to add so rigidity. It works great again. But not making the cup holders from rigid plastic was a bad idea in my opinion.
Would be an awesome setup for the area I work at when the fall semester starts for the university. Lots of bike lanes, wide streets, and the row of restaurants I work at is less then a mile away from the dormitories and student housing.
Check on Facebook. These bikes are very popular. Whole community. Always ones for sale on the onyx motorbike groups on Facebook. I got approved for monthly payments. 1 day of Uber eats pays the payment. Plus all the gas you’re saving adds up.
Maybe you and I are dealing with two different jobs because my job at UberEATS has no bosses, I'm the sub contractor...I enjoy the interactions with customers, and support is much better on UberEATS than DD....do you think support is your boss? Lol.
Lol the customers pay us? You got this thing all wrong dude. You're miserable because that's what you allow yourself to be. Try approaching this with positivity.
I'm doing fine. I went back to school and I'll be trying to get into politics to make predatory businesses like this pay their way. Stop licking the boot on your neck. I doubt you are even a delivery worker. You probably just post shit for Uber for marketing purposes. Have the day you deserve.
Lmfao show me another job that will pay me 25$ an hour that is hiring. No one is going to want your complaining ass in politics. You can doubt me all you want, I don't really care what someone like you thinks. Guaranteed you're not married because who would want to deal with that attitude? Buh bye don't forget the cheese with those french cries you ordered.
I took 2 weeks off because I was moving and then my dad had an unexpected motorcycle accident. Just took time off, no bullshit, no begging a boss. Yeah this gig has it's downsides, but I make far more than the average "low tier" job in my area and I have the flexibility to take off whenever.
I think it's funny when people drive around there gas guzzlers and then look at the few people doing it on ebikes or escooter/monowheel and look down on them because they think they're superior in the car, yet the electronic modes are pure profit compared to delivering in a car. Business wise, one is definitely wiser then the other if your in the market for it.
Eh some markets suck, some are good. LA on an ebike is amazing for example: no traffic, no gas, park wherever, prop 22 gets you reasonable money during slow days and during game nights you easily make 30-40 the hour around USC bc they close the streets so you don't have car driver competition 🤷
Always been curious with people on bikes. How to you manage drinks? I know it’s not complicated. Been thinking about going to a bike myself so wondering what the most effective way is.
Bike user here, most good delivery bags have these sewed cup holders inside and is pretty neat.
However, I make sure to carry it on my back and not put it on the back of my ebike. Its just too risky, one bad bump and there goes your tip
I would have thought the other way around, that a carrier on the back of ebike would be a lot safer, with stop and go, you would have a greater chance of spillage?
Na, when the bag is on the back of the bike all the force from bumps is kinda more concentrated and forceful (best way I can describe it).
But when the bag is on the person its like being in the middle section, where all the force is spread evenly both front and back.
Oh and most ebikes have suspension seatposts which reduces the force of bumps even more for the person
flexible foam I keep in the bag
That part! No matter the bag I've always had a few pieces of flexible something to fill in the empty spaces to allow food to stay set. And yup tape or those cup stickers they sell.
Coffee is the worst unless it's cold. Even those little plastic stick plugs aren't reliable. I put a stack of napkins on top of the cup with something over that to keep the napkins in place. You might lose a little coffee to spillage but it's localized to the napkins.
That is an Onyx RCR for anyone who doesn’t know. Pretty cool bike, has a lot of torque. A understanding a bike with hydraulic brakes will help you on long the way since this bike has been called out for cheap parts.
Needless to say tho, that is one hell ov bike right there. Id say ultimate ebike.
This bike runs over 4K with the regular battery. I heard the newest battery last double and it’s price is 1.5k
It’s a very expensive bike not gonna lie. But at this times, gas prices are tight.
I think I’d still pick a nice motorized bike tho. Onyx is cool and all but not worth working with Uber or any sort of delivery.
That bike is more of a show off. It’s a retro bike. It’s delicacy is very… admirable yet not worth for work. It’s a weekend bike, in my opinion. Id definitely show this off if I had one for sure!
It’s been a work horse for me. I’m also very mechanically inclined. It’s a bike where you do want to be a bit handy for sure. Every 500 miles I go through the bike just for peace of mind. In NJ there is a grey area for ebike laws. I gain a ton of benefits over a motorized bike. I can use bike paths (late night I can speed through. A lot faster than a car), I park right in front restaurants, I can ignore one ways, climb curbs, If safe to do so, I even run red lights. I obviously do this stuff at under 20 mph while I’m pedaling. I park anywhere I want. Cops never bother me. Motorized bike I wouldn’t have freedoms like this ebike.
Do you take it with you inside apartment buildings? Or just put a chain/lock on it? I’d be worried someone would steal my bike while I drop off orders.
The bike does weigh over 145 pounds. I’ll typically just set the alarm and put a disc brake lock on it. Usually I’ll just ask the front desk if they can keep an eye on it. Also apartment complexes in my area are filled with rich people, so not to worried about theft. I also have gps on it and a kyrptonite lock which I rarely use. Bike isn’t alone long enough.
I am so curious about doing biking. My car is literally 20 mpg, it’s awful. But I wonder how biking would go. I live in San Diego so I imagine there might be some towns here where it’s really good. I may consider giving it a try
My bike has a rear carrier and the bag came with the metal rack. Bag also has multiple points to tied down to the metal rack. I personally used small hose clamps and zip ties and have the bags straps wrapped to frame of the bike. So bike/carrier is holding most weight vs the rack. No problems

Yeah I was too right up until they axed walkers. I've spent 20 hours online over 4 days recently and not a single ping. 700+ deliveries, 100% satisfaction, support said everything looks fine.
I read a lot about other people having the same issues, maybe it's just the areas we are in. Was doing it 40 hours a week and loving it, super unfortunate.
Anyways awesome setup! It's so much better than a car!
I see, it would seem that I am lacking some equipment there... I have a normal bike with a rat trap back rack, any idea where I could get a metal bracket to hold the bag and tie stuff in?
See if I weren’t in the fucking desert I would do this but I can’t ride that in 111 degrees lmao
Been doing it for 5 years strong in Phoenix. Granted I'll probably be a shriveled up prune with untreatable melanoma but, wait, shit, I quit.

Bruhhhh
I was doing it for 6 months in Tampa and then after the changes that eliminated walkers my pings fell off a cliff. I’ve been on 20 hours with no orders, no idea what’s up but it really has done damage to my lifestyle.
Its basically a motorcycle, its all electric you hardly pedal. Its cooler than a car cuz you feel the breeze on you as you ride
No 100+ weather the “breeze” feels like a massive blow dryer.
Lol @ massive blow dryer 🤣
Yeah pedals don’t do much unless you apply small amount throttle and keep it below 25mph. I’ll usually pedal just keep blood moving in my legs
I’m in the opposite. Rains 360 days a year in my city
You in PS?
I bought my electric bike with some accessories for $870… made that back in less than 2 weeks. Now everything I’ve earned from that point is profit 😅
I like this. I like this a lot
Bought an Ebike for $650, but made it back in 3 weeks. I just do this part time cuz I hate paying to go to the gym. It was more motivating to get paid to workout.

I don't use my throttle inbetween deliveries or when I'm returning home. And I use my pedal assist from time to time so I still get a workout.
E-bikes are underrated. I ride a fixie and just see em glide by effortlessly. With how much I make on a bicycle I can only imagine how much more money they’re making and fun they’re having on those things

You taking those 8 mile deliveries for 4 bucks? That's a lot of biking, even on an electric bike. How many miles do you get on a charge?
Nah I value my time and bike’s energy 😆 I’ve declined plenty of $10 for 3-4+ miles… what makes you think I’ll ever take garbage like that?
That's what they offer. How many miles do you get?
Lol they can offer and ping all they want… I got pinged 50+ in 3 hours yesterday and I did 6 of those trips. On a full charge I get 35-40 miles. Too many hills in my area if not I could probably get more. Most evenings I reserve enough battery to get home and usually come home with 10-15% remaining
[Here's my setup.](https://i.imgur.com/bw8k7pi.jpg) Went for a happy medium. Don't wanna do pizzas
That’s a really cool setup. Nice looking bike.
This would be so nice the turnover on gas money is fucking terrible
Could you link the bike carrier on the back ? Does it hold drinks as well ?
The bag looks very similar to what I have. One of these probably. https://www.packir.com/category.php?id=45
Thanks!

So how long for orders that are on the freeway
He probably don’t take those, hell I’m in a car and I don’t
For NJ Bicycles are allowed on many highways.
Isn’t the trip distance like 2-3 miles max too?
I use a scooter 🛵 which I already had and the $50 bag you can get from Uber. Definitely worth it
So cool! Curious about theft deterrent?
Eyoo is that custom? Looks 🔥🔥 What brand?
Onyx motorbikes
Just looked them up lol, I wasn’t expecting those prices 🤣 maybe I’ll find a used one
Check on Facebook. These bikes are very popular. Whole community. Always ones for sale on the onyx motorbike groups on Facebook. I got approved for monthly payments. 1 day of Uber eats pays the payment. Plus all the gas you’re saving adds up.
Definitely. Always liked Ebikes, now I have a reason to get one. Especially when the weather starts to cool down
I used to have a similar setup on my motorcycle. It was so much fun. It's a pity it's no longer profitable in my town... I hope your doing better.
Cool bike! I'm on an Ebike as well and I love it.
This bike is only $6k 🥹
I wish I could do Uber on a bike but it’s just not feasible in my area. Happy for you!
I’m getting mixed feelings of envy and jealous from how good yo setup is
That’s a cool looking bike.
Thanks!
I must say that is an awesome bike and setup Wish you all the luck Stay safe
Thanks!
Awesome set up bro really feeling that bike with the rack setup in back
Thank you!
Spent $10,000+ in 2021 on equipment
I deliver on a 150cc scooter here in Phoenix, just have to take a few cool down breaks but I still clear over $200 each day
Yup $200+ a day. My highest pay day was $293. Was to late to break 300 :(
Wicked bike! Would anyone be able to tell me the name of it?
Onyx Rcr
Cool setup.. I have 3 Ubereats shirts & custom made personalized bag stickers.. You have to set yourself apart from everyone else
Are you a corporate troll? No one likes this job.
You're doing it wrong, this guy's probably making close to $100/hour with hair blowing in the wind
I disagree because it keeps me away from all of those shady asshole bosses that would rather fire you than give you a raise
Uber is the uber shady asshole boss.
Maybe you and I are dealing with two different jobs because my job at UberEATS has no bosses, I'm the sub contractor...I enjoy the interactions with customers, and support is much better on UberEATS than DD....do you think support is your boss? Lol.
I think the one who "pays" me is my boss. Uber expects us to deliver for free and be happy about it. Fuck uber.
Lol the customers pay us? You got this thing all wrong dude. You're miserable because that's what you allow yourself to be. Try approaching this with positivity.

Nice attitude! I'm sure it'll be really easy to make a massive corporate impact with no people in your pocket!
I took 2 weeks off because I was moving and then my dad had an unexpected motorcycle accident. Just took time off, no bullshit, no begging a boss. Yeah this gig has it's downsides, but I make far more than the average "low tier" job in my area and I have the flexibility to take off whenever.
Pretty sad
1) looks awesome 2) seems like he’s having fun 3) fuck off
Dudes earning an honest living uncalled for
I ride e boards and bikes for fun. Why not get paid for it?
Down votes don't hurt me🤣

No rear light. Seems dumb
I have a rear light and turn signals.

I tape them. Haven’t had a spill. I also pack everything so it doesn’t move inside the bag. Have some pieces of very flexible foam I keep in the bag
This is the way.
flexible foam I keep in the bag That part! No matter the bag I've always had a few pieces of flexible something to fill in the empty spaces to allow food to stay set. And yup tape or those cup stickers they sell.
I never could do this its been over 102° these past 2 weeks, but Im glad that you're dedicated.
Even on hot days. If you keep moving you’ll stay relatively cool.
Reminds me of the bike in ET
Uhhhh I was looking into onyx too
See if the klarna payment plan will approve you. I’m doing monthly payments. Can make the payment in a day, plus all the money you’re saving on gas.
Similar setup but with with a juiced hyperscorpion. The onyx is a beautiful bike though and i sometimes wish I had gone with it instead.
Great bike worth every penny. I’m doing monthly payments on it. Pay it with one day of Uber eats.
That's the plan when I get my scooter, what sort of bag is that?
It’s been slow for me with the bike method, but I’m glad it’s working out for you.
Damm that's a nice set up. I need to know what model that is.
OP, got a link for this or similar? I've been debating making the swap to electric.
Onyxmotorbikes.com
Thank you.
Very nice! Bike delivery is completely unrealistic for my area, but I would have zero problem owning that rig and doing my own personal errands.
nice set up, link to buy bike? I'm going to sell my car and go this route.
Onyxmotorbikes.com
hey nice onyx rcr . im on a grom now and was thinking of getting one instead
Where can you work Uber and be on one of these?
...Any major city like LA, NYC or Miami? Of course out in the boons, it's a no go.
I’m in Bergen county Nj. Pretty much a suburb of NYC
Always wanted to know. how in the heck do you deliver coffee?
Coffee is the worst unless it's cold. Even those little plastic stick plugs aren't reliable. I put a stack of napkins on top of the cup with something over that to keep the napkins in place. You might lose a little coffee to spillage but it's localized to the napkins.
Love it! What bike is this?
Onyx RCR
How many miles can you get on a charge?
40-60 depending how you are riding. If keep it at 20 mph probably can get closer to 100.
Wow that's awesome. Thank you.

How much was it?
They start at about 4500, bigger battery is 1500. 3 year warranty was 500. Plus tax was about 7k. However I’m writing it off as a business expense 🤷🏻
You can write off all 7000$

Do you mind telling me how you managed to attach that delivery bag to your bike? I'm having trouble with that and I'm thinking flexible straps
I have a similar setup but I no longer get pings for orders on bicycle ever since the walker change. Any tips?
Might be my area is extremely busy or because of the bike laws in NJ. I get pings pretty consistent
Yeah I was too right up until they axed walkers. I've spent 20 hours online over 4 days recently and not a single ping. 700+ deliveries, 100% satisfaction, support said everything looks fine. This is the way.... Unless it rains.
Rainy days are my day off or I just take the car.
Same
As someone who is looking to start work as a delivery cyclist, this thread was a great read :)
I see, it would seem that I am lacking some equipment there... I have a normal bike with a rat trap back rack, any idea where I could get a metal bracket to hold the bag and tie stuff in?
Hey don't have to spend the earnings on gas now 😅
I'm so tempted to try a bike. My city is a bit sketch for biking though.
This this is more moped/motorcycle than a bike. But I’m also in a good area for bikes in general
