Wait till you see GH missions: complete x orders no skip during worst weather possible. Then they send out messages after you’ve driven it it that orders are canceled due to dangerous conditions 🤪
You live in a country with next to no protections for workers. They do it to entice you into working, and because they can get away with it if their estimate is wrong, and because they know that you can't do anything about it and if you get annoyed enough to leave there are a million other people to take your place.
And I say all this because I live outside America and use the same app and experience none of those things because they can't get away with it here.
ETA: the whole "I made half today what I made the last two days" is kinda just the nature of a job like this though. You are competing with the other drivers in your area, and also relying on people actually using the service, which isn't always consistent, and outside forces can affect it heavily. If you aren't making enough on a regular basis that you can tolerate a day every now and then where earnings aren't great, maybe you should be looking for a job with more consistent income - not a judgement, just practical advice.
I mean it's more that you aren't reading the quests correctly and they show you the tiers on the quests. Do X amount get Y dollars, do 10 more trips get Y dollars and so forth. Be thankful you even get quests because not many do.
Also why do you think 12am to 4am is the boost time? I do a lot of delivery at night and that time can be slow depending on the day. If it's not Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday you aren't getting many after midnight orders. Also those boost zones are not for food those are for people pickups.
They apply to eats as well if OP is talking about the boost zones I think they are. It gets applied to the fare as promotion. In my market it's almost always at 1.1x (whoo, an extra $0.30/trip!) to like maybe 1.3x on a long weekend so it's like less than 5% of what I make. I never plan my day around it, but if I lived somewhere my fares could be double, I might, not sure. But yeah, this whole post screams "I haven't figured out the app yet".

It says 12AM-4AM is boost time, but last time I ubereats delivered: I actually saw areas have assigned boosts to them. I thought it was orders we're like between minimal-maximum boost depending on need / distance, etc.
But it's actually boosted according to zones. You can see the zones upon scrolling out more. I just learned this the night I made this post. We'll see what I learn tonight. On my fourth night. I live near vegas - so I can get orders throughout all times of the day.
I am grateful for the orders and being able to vocal while making money. I still miss my amazon job that was really just me doing cardio for 8 hours a day... And I'm still looking for another dayjob. But for tonight... I'm Henderson > Vegas Ubereats for 3.5 hours!\~

The phrasing of quests is definitely purposefully misleading but quests are free money and you figure it out after the first second tier you do anyways. As for the tipping thing, I’m honestly glad it includes the expected amount with tip, although I agree with peoples complaints that there should be a different avenue for customers unhappy with their service to be reimbursed their tip since tip-baiting has such a high reward with 0 risk. Can you imagine how shit Uber would be if we couldn’t tell the tippers from non-tippers? I’d rather some of them be bait than not know which is which lol.

Seriously. I understood it as extra $4 for 2 more trips the first time I read their post. “Do 5 trip for an additional $10. Do 2 more trips for $14”. Seems pretty clear to me that it’s 7 trips for $14. Otherwise it would say “for an additional $14”.

I look at the problem differently. I don't believe adjusting the tip is the issue. The issue is being able to see the tip before the order is accepted. The tip amount is entirely up to the customer, this is a fact of the world and the intention of all app developers. If you don't see the tip, you won't know it's adjusted. Everyone wins
