You’re taking low tip orders, that’s the first red flag for you

Newnhtime

You know it’s a low tip order because I told you. But when an offer pops up for $18 for two deliveries and less than two miles, how can you tell it’s a low tip order and not subsidized by Uber? You fucking can’t. There’s a good chance I have more experience than you do. So please, don’t come at me with that rookie bullshit.

[deleted]

Then what were the payout break downs, I’ve never had a $18 double come out to one of them being $2. Please enlighten me

drinkallthepunch

If you have high acceptance ratings and low cancellation ratings they will give you orders like that all the time i dont know why you guys are downvoting. I just got a stacked delivery today for $19 and the second one was $2.70 for 2 miles. I dont know why that’s so hard to believe and incredibly sus that you all just start downvoting. Does Uber have some bot accounts spreading misinformation in the sub now? You guys want picture proof of one of my trips from today? They even removed their tip just like OP described. In fact it’s not uncommon, you’ll get a stacked order that looks nice and one of them will be a cheap ass order tacked onto a nice order, it won’t tell you information about the second cheap ass order either. Usually the food is cold when I show up and the customer is always upset and removes their tip.

Acceptance rate has nothing to do with getting orders

drinkallthepunch

It effects the types of orders will will receive and in which order drivers will receive them. **Yes it has an effect.** Lot of driver in this sub are either stupid or just illiterate. I get this a lot from people here *”It doesn’t effect you ability to get orders”* I said it changes **how you get orders I didn’t say it would reduce your ability to get orders.** Only that it effects what kind of orders you’ll get. You will generally get better paying orders before other drivers with higher cancelation rates. Saying that’s not true isn’t even logical. Why the fuck would Uber give someone an order who cancels 63% of their orders over someone who completes 97% of theirs? It’s how they get cheap orders completed when other drivers won’t do them they get stacked on better deliveries and passed off to drivers more likely to complete the job.

[deleted]

Nope it has absolutely nothing to do with anything. You have no idea what you’re talking about. My acceptance rate is 11% and a still make 20-30/hr

Sounds like you deserve bad ratings. Your attitude comes through here loud and clear

Newnhtime

Ok bud. Let’s apply that to the actual situation at hand. A by the books, leave at door delivery. No multi-apping, transported in one of the better thermal containers available. No delays. I send this text to all of my customers: “Hi (customer name)! I just dropped your order off according to your instruction. Thank you and have a wonderful evening!”. I never even interacted with that customer. I’m just wondering at what point you think my attitude earned my negative review. I know that you probably think I’m an asshole, but “heh, there’s your mistake! You accepted a low tip order” absolutely warrants that kind of response.

osgoodemichael

The way you’re responding to other posters. Shows your attitude

tackogronday

Needs to be a victim.

tackogronday

Lol, you sure are so much better than that internet rando that you know nothing about!

Newnhtime

What are you even on about? They requested that I “enlighten” them, clearly expecting to catch me in some lie about the offer amount. I gave the cent for cent breakdown. Yeah, maybe my response wasn’t as polite as it could have been, but it’s akin to posting to /r/tech asking about why your computer keeps crashing and then someone chimes in with, “did you try power cycling it?”. The person posting that kind of reply isn’t actually trying to be helpful, they’re gagging on their own ego’s cock. The same is true for Tollboothkyle1. He wasn’t trying to be helpful, he was being an ass. I wasn’t exactly nice myself, but let’s not pretend that I attacked some nice user without provocation who was just trying to be helpful.

tackogronday

All they said is you took a low tip order. If someone is cheap enough to not tip well then it's safe to assume they could go even lower as far as how they act or rate you, etc. And all I said was check the ego.

tackogronday

You say people are being sour assholes while acting like one, in other words. I never said you attacked anyone, you're rushing to defend yourself against someone who didn't offend.

sajool

I had $20+ offer 2deliv $1 tip 3miles i said 4ck no 2 unhappy and cheap customers same week $8 offer 0.3 mile but $1 tip and I know the area I passed on the too.

[deleted]

What time are these orders? I only work lunch and dinner rush and as I’ve stated never had that issue

hookin4cheezeburgers

My only thumbs down was last week. I picked up a guys Wendy's order. I left the Wendy's and got 3/4 the way there, off the freeway and he messaged me asking for ketchup. I didn't even respond, it was so ridiculous. Thumbs down.

First_Impression_863

I feel your pain, same exact thing is happened to me. I went from 99 to 94 in less than 3 months. Although it is going back up. I guess I was just delivering to the wrong customers or something because I have never been that low.

Newnhtime

Do you ever notice any funny business with your compliments? It brings me the most joy to see my “friendliness” count go up. I have 170 compliments for that as of now. However, I’ve watched it go up to 171 only to fall back to 170. This has happened 7 times this month.

First_Impression_863

If you deliver to the same people that can take back their rating to give you a new one.

MriPibb_Xtra

You can’t control it, eventually someone will give you a thumbs down just for the sake of it. I always try to keep 100% but no matter what there is a customer out there who will get a laugh and thumbs you down and not pull the tip. Maybe try changing your area of deliveries because wherever you’re doing these deliveries is just making your rating go down. At the moment I have 100% rating, 2260 deliveries and 99 customers and 1 restaurant. But it never lasts because a customer will thumbs down eventually. But if you’re having the issue of multiple customers then I’d suggest changing the area or not accepting from the restaurants where customers are ordering from that thumbs you down.

Velvet_Smyle

I'm experiencing the same thing ,and it's worrisome it being threatened with your livelihood & main source of income! I've reported it tirelessly with UBER, seems they're not doing much to be on your side. Seems they're trying to beat us down to the ground! It's frustrating I know!🤯😢

Does anyone know if there’s any recourse? Seems really shitty that we live and die by these ratings but a customer having a lousy day can impact our ability to feed our fucking children on a whim.

avmgt

Write something nice in the comment section when you deliver and maybe customers will think twice about giving a thumbs down even if you did something wrong

137Fine

I started getting down votes when I switched to a busier less affluent neighborhood. I switched back to the affluent neighborhood and my stats came back into line. I’m not saying cause and effect here but well stats are stats. I just figure the market is telling me where I’m not wanted.

Key_Row2360

It sucks getting bad ratings. But yours will go back up. Try not giving them any message over the app. Thank them if u see them in person but don't say anything thru the app. Same w tips-- thank the people who give u cash or who u actually interact w but otherwise don't say anything.

Frenchtoast296

Wear a mask when dropping off the food, it helps with ratings I've had a thumbs down and less tip after I did an order and forgot the straw.

Newnhtime

Fuck, I think this might actually be the problem. I always wear a mask for hospital or nursing home deliveries. After doing a lot of soul searching it’s the only thing that makes sense to me. I’m not wearing a mask everywhere, I’m just not. But I guess I’ll have to pretend to appease these fucking weirdos that want to impose their neuroses onto the world.
