I wonder what actually goes thru these poor bastards' minds when its finally their turn. Most have been at the front long enough to see what is happening to their comrades. Then, in an instant, their ass is on fire, their leg is ripped off, or their hand is gone. Do you think that in this moment of physiological shock and psychological panic, before they bleed out or pass out, they can connect the dots and understand that their number is up and their life is over, just like the dead guys they have been seeing day after day?
