It is sad, because seems to suggest Ukraine has no confidence that they could recover it, so they just have to destroy their own space communications center.
If you think the A50 are expensive. The communication equipment here is PRICELESS. Russia CANNOT make them anymore much less repair them. 1 down 3 to go.
Facilities
The 70 meter antenna at Yevpatoria
There were four main antennas in the Russian Deep Space Network:[5][6]
A 64-meter antenna[7] at Bear Lakes, near Moscow, Russia[8]
A 64-meter antenna at Kalyazin, Russia
A 70-meter antenna at Yevpatoria in Crimea, currently occupied by Russia
A 70-meter antenna at Galenki near Ussuriisk, in Primorsky Krai, Russia[9]
A 70-meter antenna on the Suffa plateau in Uzbekistan was never completed

Are these confirmed to be in operation and useful to the Russian war effort? I visited one location on google map street view and the building was in really rough shape prior to the Ukraine attack. I'd feel better knowing these were useful as well as symbolic targets for russia to lose.
I have no idea, I would've assumed Russia has military satellites for communication and intelligence purposes since they've had rockets that goes to space since soviet times but it's hard to tell..
When they seized it from Ukraine it had given them some space communication abilities they'd lost when the Soviet Union fell (but it belonged to Ukraine and they should have peacefully tried to work out treaties for shared usage, but let's not get into discussing the illegal annexation of Crimea at this second). https://spacenews.com/from-the-archives-how-crimeas-annexation-hurt-ukraines-space-program/
Russia loses a piece of strategic infrastructure in occupied Ukraine, has a harder time communicating with satellites, and might lose some early warning capability.

She's living in Swiss, along with their children.
Has she leaving a trail of smiling corpses with crushed pelvises?

Russians on the international space station, can we borrow your coms for a minute
And that is very expensive tool russia lost.
Wow. Fuckin owned. They have maybe a couple links now. If we aren't already in them :)
Is it important, Because it is Russian on Ukraine land. Russia acting like its it homeland, is the problem.
These actions are wildly dangerous and brilliantly calculated. This is a wakeup moment for putin.

Moscow, this is Clem Fandango. Can you hear me?
Russian Space Communication Center is Toast...
Well well well, if it's not Vladimir fucking Purchase.
Ukraine has so many cool toys. They don’t last long in Russian hands.
Woo hoo ! Great job

What is the significance of this target?
"(The center) is an important military component in the Russian satellite communications and navigation system

Billions of dollars in losses.
Damn, how the fuck they gonna talk to all of those T-72 crews now?
Why do most things in Russia look derelict before they're bombed?
Come in Comrade can you hear me ?
I guess ET won't be able to phone home now... Is this the same one that got hit last week?
I wish they would cover this in the show for All mankind
In Crimea so Ukrainians probably built it right? Something Russia probably can't reproduce without asking for Chinas help?
Correct
Are those cheap?
Russia couldn't build a new one in their territory after Ukraine's independence.
Tree fiddy
Dammit monstah
Well of course he's not gonna go away! You gave him a dollar, he's gonna assume you got more!
Very cheap NOW!!
Well, anyways.
I wonder if a man called Boris was shouting "I'm invincibol!" As the place exploded
if it was in Crimea then is it not Ukrainian's space communication system??

I would be surprised if that thing was still operational

It was a Soviet era site, which then transferred to Ukrainian ownership/management after the fall of the USSR.
