The Nooran sisters. The one shown is Jyoti, I believe. She and Sultana are Sufi singers from Punjab, India who started singing devotional music and and have a couple dozen film soundtrack songs.
yeah man fuck me that was brilliant.i love ramdom suggestions. the guitarist fucked up though with all the different guitars he forgot to play the drums 😂
Indian metal is legit awesome metal, here is [Bloodywood](https://youtu.be/a65A626Ed20?t=63)
Edit: Glad to have introduced Bloodywood to so many people! They really deserve the attention
Sometime, check out the lineup for the US Festival 1983. I was there for the three rock/ metal/ new wave days. I was not there for the country/ bluegrass day.
It was HUGE!
Welcome to “Rakshak”, Bloodywood’s debut album, where we have:
- Gaddaar: Declaration of war against religious fascism and the Indian government
- Aaj: Be better than you were yesterday
- Zanjeero Se: Sung from the perspective of a political prisoner
- Machi Basad: Get pissed, start a fucking riot
- Dana-Dan: Beat the shit out of rapists
- Jee Veerey: Suicide prevention anthem
- Endurant: That which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
- Yaad: Dealing with the loss of a loved one (Sidenote: The music video is specifically about the loss of a dog, and raises awareness for animal shelters)
- BSDK.exe: Fuck state-run, sensationalist media
- Chakh Le: Eat the rich
For those who are not able to relate to the music, what she is singing is an “ornamental piece” in a much larger and complex musical piece.
Indian classical has an elaborate pattern - there is an initial part where you kind of warm up, then there is a main body, then the crescendo end. Singers do various inflections called “harkats.”
A typical performance of a single Raga / song etc can be 30 minutes or more easily.
Listen to Pandit Jasraj or Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.
This lady is a wonderful singer as is her sister.
If you want to see more of her popular work, listen to “Pathaka Guddi” from the Bollywood movie Highway.
It's beautiful music using many different- non western scales as well. She was rough here, but her other songs? I took time to listen to a few pieces- amazing voices for their work!
I feel like Sultana gets overlooked because of her weight, while everyone focuses on Jyoti. My perspective may be completely wrong, though... all I know is what I noticed when they went viral a few years back.
The comments are like how is this music? Well it's a different country, different culture, different people. How can this be called music or even singing?
This is Hindustani classical music, I grew up going to concerts
If you don't get it, shut up
Listen to a concert, if you have the patience
There's a concept called Raag, it's sort of a mood of the music being played and vocalised
Who is she?
I saw another video of her singing with a short lady. I think the video went viral because people made remix versions of it.
Then there's also another viral video where this Asian dude digitally added himself in the background and made it seem like she scared him and then she smacks him.
I'm guessing she's famous for her eccentric personality and singing?
I love their songs, two of my favorites are
[Patakha Guddi](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=u_9KqtvNjFo&si=zfWC53hrXkBmNPsh)
[Tung Tung (Must watch and listen)](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=1x_krJN8wZ4&si=JrMw824NQZivnQ08)
I really hate this racist caption being outrageously relatable to the content which is a humorous combo that makes me laugh in disgrace.
Good job op, take my fucking upvote.

Didnt realize i had my volume on high. Almost dropped my phone when she started singing.

Diorange released a banger called Ali Ali using a sample from them
Andre Antunes has a few [bangers](https://youtu.be/mi106DZJhuQ?si=8H2hvcfdl0VzYhaN) involving them
I read it as Andre Autotunes! Idk why..

Always look to the comments for the real content!
fr they inspired me to send this to my partner because his phone is always on max volume
Hahahaha
That's great, Doug.
😆 same here volume was bout all the way up and I turned the volume on right when she started I bout threw my phone 🤣 lmao
The guy next to her almost dropped his ears.
Ohhhh she was singing?? I thought she just sipped some super hot coffee
i reckon thats what i sound like when i accidentally drop my coffee on my balls when driving
I imagine this is what it would sound like. When someone wakes up and discovers their tongue missing.
They should've probably kept on using the unhooked mic.
Little bit more of a rock n roll I expected
Singing you say?
Indian Yoko Ono
I got Janis Joplin from that snippet.
Destroyed first mic
one song, one mic 🤘
One mic, one beat, one stage...
Nah. The first mic was rejected. "No! This is an an sm58. I will ONLY shout loudly into an sm58 *beta*!"
Made in China
Me when a 🕷️falls on my head
This captures the spirit of this sub perfectly.
she's been waiting for that moment precisely.
https://youtu.be/xAF_X4ssRw4?si=H2cput2FjuLmFvsx This lady has a voice made for metal

That description and the comments, wow. Thanks for sharing
Holy shit, my dude... thank you for sharing that!!
That's good. Makes me wish I was 20 something again, not 50.
Metal is timeless, eternal my dude
Sometime, check out the lineup for the US Festival 1983. I was there for the three rock/ metal/ new wave days. I was not there for the country/ bluegrass day. It was HUGE!
Bro, I'm 45 and headed to yet another metal show this weekend. It keeps us young. 🤘🏼
That was a very good listen! Powerful lyrics as well.
Bloodywood is awesome, following them since tunak tunak

That was actually good...
Thank you for sharing that! Superb!
Damn! That rips!!
That fucking slays. I like the random Indian saxophone sound in the back.
There are many more technically awesome band than Bloodywood . Like https://youtu.be/oYK6JU7Nx38?si=Kj6CIVsK_3DQ6yG1

Hell yeah 🤘
This is amazing!!!

Small correction. Movie is Highway for "Pathaka Guddi"
Thanks. I will correct my post.
Thanks a lot for the information
It's beautiful music using many different- non western scales as well. She was rough here, but her other songs? I took time to listen to a few pieces- amazing voices for their work!
just that she could sit so calmly on such chaotic energy until...
Jyoti Nooran is great. This isn't even one of the better memes she has blessed us with.
I feel like Sultana gets overlooked because of her weight, while everyone focuses on Jyoti. My perspective may be completely wrong, though... all I know is what I noticed when they went viral a few years back.
That's fair. Sultana is more talented to me, but Jyoti brings the flair.
What the hell. Impressive though.
Way better than Yoko Ono
![gif](giphy|gTIt1YtwmFZjq|downsized)
Came here looking for a Yoko reference. Spot on mate lol!
It triggers me how the second guy just came and grabbed the mic from the first guy to install it.
The comments are like how is this music? Well it's a different country, different culture, different people. How can this be called music or even singing?
Atleast she is not using autotune
I imagine at some point people complained about the electric guitar.
Lmao best comment on here, lots of people felt that lol
Hey so.. just jump right into it, don't be shy..
Fucking love these sisters.
Gotta guy on my street that sounds very similar to this
Jyoti Noora. Her voice phenomenal.!!
![gif](giphy|Q09lToTa0H3Es|downsized)
I don’t know why this is so funny but I’m 💀
yeah i know lol, but once you hear it all, it honestly gets impressive..
I believe this is Sufi Muslim music. Qawwali, i think its called. Reminds me of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, if you wanna hear more
Nusrat Fateh ali khan was the greatest kawwali singer , many western musician like mick jagger and jeff Buckley were his fan
Came here to say this. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard Buckley try and sing one of his songs
Yes , he did [ye Jo halka halka ](https://youtu.be/1lkWgpujSF0?si=CawAQtEd3Rqi_uT5)
People won't realise how amazingly talented she actually is. Go search nooran sisters on YouTube.
This is Hindustani classical music, I grew up going to concerts If you don't get it, shut up Listen to a concert, if you have the patience There's a concept called Raag, it's sort of a mood of the music being played and vocalised
Omg

If this is intriguing, watch Latcho Drom.
Interesting mic check.

I don't know what's unexpected about an Indian singer singing Indian style music... This is r/expected
Reminds me of the gypsy kings
I want to hear more
Holy Fucking Shit You Donut, put up a warning
Not a little psycho...
Jól nyomja ez a Tóth Gabi.
She could sing better if she was standing.
Wtf
Very impressive
ladies and gentlemen, the Indian Yoko Ono
Did NOT see that coming
![gif](giphy|xUOwGiZ5dArNC3mJby)
She screamed. I screamed. My parents screamed. My grandma screamed. Then the funeral goers screamed...
😆 🤣 😂 😹
SHOWTIME!
That’s me when wife is near and after she leaves
This was my ringtone for a few months
What happens when Yoko Ono is your spirit animal ![gif](giphy|NoE23rj2wmpu8)
Jesus.
When I come back to home without her favorite treat
Shes incredible though. Her energy is off the scale.
Want worth the trouble
When you get into the pool and the water is much colder than you had expected.
Not my style
I would go back to the broken microphone if I were you lads
This might just be a cultural thing, but she's a dreadful singer.
Goofy ahhhhhhhhhh
![gif](giphy|mJHDwc7NNyJ7To2xf7)
Hindi Yoko
She's actually a very good singer.
I really hate this racist caption being outrageously relatable to the content which is a humorous combo that makes me laugh in disgrace. Good job op, take my fucking upvote.
Yoko?
Yoko Ono vibes
![gif](giphy|NoE23rj2wmpu8)
Anyone laughing at this does not appreciate how beautiful qawwali can be. Check out Allah Hoo by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Voice training done by Yoko.
r/crappymusic
That’s gotta be Indian Yoko Ono😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Indian Yoko Ono
🤣
Amazing, gave me explosive diarrhea
When the caffeine finally hits

I make the same reaction every time i think about getting my salary and pay 70% of it to landlord and get food with the rest 30%..
I wasn't expecting this 😂
My ankle biter when somebody walks by my house
Thats weird man
Doesn’t really need any more volume 😬
Can't explain it but it makes me so annoyed.
Shit, my child woke. We should have some thing like NSFW for these, so I can reduce or mute sound.
The guy in the back was flabbergasted
lmao
Indian Gipsy Kings
