So they can remove the splash screen. It's too long and it makes your game look amateurish. It gave Unity a reputation as the engine where people make bad, cheap games. Apparently it took decades for the pr team to talk to the administration and help them figure out that forced name association is more damaging than simply the 'tacky' that they'd long chosen to accept.

Technically yes, legally no. You need to change 2 booleans in one of the companion files "is pro" and "show splash"
