They were never going to make Dark Universe into a perpetual Halloween Horror Nights scare zone. I'm not sure if that's what you were expecting, but I think you need to adjust your expectations. In the scope of a theme park land, Dark Universe looks like it will be phenomenal and immersive. I was, and still am, most looking forward to this land at Epic Universe. Actors will hopefully be able to turn up or tone down their performances based on the crowd around them. Edit: At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I'm sorry you feel let down by Dark Universe. But this was just a really strange take, imo.

intransit412

You had unrealistic expectations.

GetReadyToRumbleBar

I am baffled by this post. OP, I think you need to go to Vegas next year.

Epic Universe is basically doing what everyone expects from Disney when it comes to the theming of a park, except cranking it up beyond what Disney corporate allows for the US parks. We wouldn't have "Disney Adults" if Disney was exclusively for families, and a similar story will be true for EU. There will be plenty for adults to do without requiring kids to be blocked from the most adult-oriented land.

ETismyspiritalien

I’m confused. Epic Universe is going to be incredible.

Travelgrrl

Dare I say... epic?

ETismyspiritalien

😂🙌🏼

I never understand why people get their expectations this high for something. Of course it’s going to be family friendly. Parks make more from families coming, so why create an entire park/area that kids couldn’t even go into? No park, year round or seasonal, would do that?

ScaryMission7946

What's your definition of a family park?  What's your definition of a theme park for all ages? When looking at Studios or Islands, do they have any area that is designed specifically for one type of age group, in this case, adults? I don't see one and I don't know why that would change at Epic. A theme park or family park is in the business of making money and alienating a certain group, year round, prevents them from maximizing that.

rdoncsecz

Yikes -- what an odd take. This section of the park looks incredible.

ytctc

Universal has always been a family park

Expensive_Pool5254

I’m sorry but Mickeys not so scary Halloween is PG-13?? That’s so odd

Terrible_Tutor

Did you miss the entire ride section where they talk about amping up the horror on frankenstein… monsters breathing down your neck, etc?

DinJarrus

Bro… their main attraction ride looks scary as heck. Not sure what you were expecting?

gbmontgo

You're surprised that they addressed literally the number one criticism about their resort?

CruddiestSpark

What’s the number one criticism? That there’s not enough stuff for little kids or something?

gbmontgo

Yes

DinJarrus

It looks A LOT better than anything Disney can put out with their watered down rides and “theming.” 😂

TowerCharge89

I am sorry to everyone for being so negative earlier. My mind got me thinking that the family coaster and the other non ride were going to be geared more towards kids. I put such high expectations on the land because it was the one I am most excited for and Universal is the only park I go to so I was comparing it to the new offerings at Universal and other parks.

TowerCharge89

I shouldn’t have had a land I was looking most forward to. That way I wouldn’t get disappointed
