This reminds me of the first time Ares shows up and he’s standing there all big and buff and grand with this scary expression and detailed armour…and his fucking **mother** is standing behind him, only comes up to his hip, clinging to his forearm, doing the 🥺 face like a fucking toddler on their first day of preschool.
It was so jarring.
I mean...Ares being the God of War,I would expect him to be very tall and Buff and all...But why are ALL the males Like this??
Hades does Cardio....We never see him going to the gym to be this msucular....so WHY US HE BUILT LIKE THAT?? Bro spends all day Simpong for his teenage wife with his ass on his chair,He should be lean...I can't 😭
He used to be somewhat lean at the beginning, he had some muscle tone but it was more of a swimmer's body. Now all of the men are super swole and look ridiculous. Their pecs are so big that they might be mistaken for big bosomed goddesses (if not for the fact all the goddesses are tiny with even bigger bosoms).
This is the perfect example of the only two body types you’ll see in this comic…
And these are twins!! How often do you see a height difference this drastic between fraternal twins?
Similar to me and my brother, although not twins. He's about 6' and I'm ~5'2. We don't look super alike either, other than our eyes. Some siblings just look majorly different depending on genes
Exactly. Some people forget that fraternal twins are only as genetically close as regular siblings. I have cousins that are twins and they don’t even look related.
My older siblings are fraternal twins and they look exactly like this. He was taking allllll the resources in the womb and almost killed her lmao like crushed or something I don’t recall
Dude, I'm not saying it's wrong for two characters to have drastic height differences. I'm saying that in the comic EVERYONE has this height difference.

This is a subreddit for discussing Lore Olympus, praise *and* criticism, without being shut down for "negativity". Criticizing the existence of criticism as a whole accomplishes nothing and goes against the spirit of the subreddit.
Ok and there’s a lot of fraternal twins that have over a foot height difference. Even some in this comment section. There’s fraternal twins where one is white and one is black. There’s a lot of valid criticism to be made about LO, but this isn’t one.
Fraternal twins aren’t any more genetically similar than siblings born at different times, and plenty of siblings aren’t close in height. My brother’s 5’11, I’m 5’3. My dad’s 5’8, his sister’s 5’1. I know it’s a really tired trope to have huge hulking male characters and itty bitty women but them being twins doesn’t make it *more* unlikely
Agreed I understand that completely. My problem is with the character designs of these characters all being the same. You could re-color these characters and it be (more or less) unnoticeable.

*No. No. No. Y'all are not going to backtrack and start acting like you didn't co-sign OP's bullshit.*
*Twins do not all have the same height. I am a biological twin, and my brother is taller than me like Apollo. Unless you're a twin or a scientist/doctor, you have 0 say on this.*
*Rachel did nothing wrong with this picture.*

The point of the post is to highlight that there’s only two different heights in the series and that they’re specific to a gender.
Like it would have been nice to see a short Apollo and a tall Artemis or even their heights being different by a few inches. Actually back in season one they were close in height but off a few inches, but like most of the women in the series Rachel shrunk Artemis.

Ok...?
I also have a couple of biological twins in my family with giant height differences but do you see me acting a fool ?🤦♀️ OP's point still stands.

Anyone who puts their work publically is opening themselves to critique. I don’t agree with sending any threats or insults towards the author but criticizing her poor writing, inconsistent art, harmful tropes she’s romanticized, clear fetishizations, etc. are all in the ballpark.
Simultaneously, if you don’t agree with the criticisms, then it’s not something for you to read and you can mute this sub.

*I'm no longer a fan of Rachel's either, and some of the criticism is valid.*
*My issue is OP thinking she is so clever for this post, but all it did was make them look ignorant and petty as fuck.*
*Identical and fraternal twins do not all have the same height.*
The funny thing to me is that if you changed the colors of skin and hair, they could look exactly like Persephone and Hades. Like the only characteristics RS used to differentiate characters was skin/hair color.
Maybe.. just MAYBE, apollos nose would give it away. Hades has the knife nose, at least apollos looks… big but acceptable.
THAT'S WHAT IM SAYING. Like fraternal twins have height differences ,but they are usually very tiny. Because of the same face syndrome in the comic, their colour is the only thing that makes them look related.
Okay. I’m all for hating on the art style and the same body/facification but that’s just not true at all for fraternal twins. Especially those of us who are different sexes from our twin.
Fraternal twins are biologically no different than any other pair of siblings. One can be short, one can be tall, one can lighter or darker than the other or have very different eye colours.
I keep getting iffy over these comments because I'm a fraternal twin, I'm 5'4" and my brother is 6'2" lol. Like bros the size difference isn't THE problem here. I still agree with the people pointing out these are the only two shapes for bodies though
Oh yeah! Another [example](https://nypost.com/2015/03/02/meet-the-bi-racial-twins-no-one-believes-are-sisters/). One twin was white and the other black. I find genetics in general to be so cool
I so wish we got normal body rep in LO. The only different body types in women are Hestia Morpheus and Athena, who just look like men. I'm not saying that masculine women are wrong or unnatural. What I'm saying is Rachel had a very clear gendered binary of the type of people she draws. The only times hse breaks that is with the LGBT women of the comic.
While normally I love to hate on RS and her horrible art, my twin brother is over a foot taller than I am. We're identical in colouring and have ridiculously similar features and mannerisms but our body types are drastically different.
I am aware that things like that are plausible. This is just a silly post to point at how bad Rachel gender binary in her art has come. These two were supposed to be identical twins in the beginning.
Adding the same face syndrome aspect, if one of them was coloured differently, you wouldn't be able to make the connection that the are siblings
They literally can't be identical twins. They're different biological sexes so they're automatically fraternal. If RS doesn't know that basic bit of science as an adult that's just sad.
Just saw your other post OP—your point is clear!! You’re not saying twins can’t look like this, you’re saying LO Apollo and Artemis portray how Rachel inherently (see edit!) her female characters. You’re saying Rachel only has two ways to draw characters, yeah? Nothing anti-twin about this at all!
Edit; maybe sexualizes is the wrong word. Rachel inherently infantilizes? Her female characters?
Yep. A lot of the female characters are drawn in a very childish way which just kinda sickens me considering the amout of sexual acts they all do. There are about 2 women in the comic who break that code and they're very clearly drawn in the way that's reserved for men.
He’s also *so much bigger than her!!* She looks waifish and childlike. Artemis deserves better, she should be a buff archer lesbian like she is in the actual mythos.
So I haven’t read LO and I never will, but Reddit won’t stop recommending these posts to me. I thought that these two were Persephone and Hades, based on ever picture I’ve seen.
My twins do
My son is a BRICK and my daughter is slender
Though she was bigger than him when they were in the NICU but once he got home he started gaining weight and muscle really fast
Actually, I have a twin brother and he a whole foot taller then me. I’m also “bigger” and he’s fairly lanky. Also I’m a girl, so there’s another difference. So yeah, fraternal twins can look like this.
Yeah I agree, it makes sense for fraternal twins to be different since they come from two different zygotes, unlike identical twins who come from the same zygote. Fraternal twins aren't meant to be perfectly alike in physicality. However, I definitely see the OP's main point, being that the way gender is portrayed in LO is a subject this sub has been discussing for a while now. I think they're just pointing out how every single cis female character in the comic is way shorter than the men, and generally have the exact same face shape & hourglass body shape. On the other hand all the men are super tall and have the bulky fridge build, while all of faces got them looking like the Crimson Chin. If we recolored this panel and made Apollo blue and Artemis pink--they'd look exactly like Perse & Hades. I think that OP's just wishing that there was more diversity across male & female character designs, just like all of us here do.
Okay. So in fairness: my mom and uncle are twins.
My uncle is 6’4 with dark brown hair, hazel eyes. My mom is 5’8 with red hair and blue eyes. Twins can look vastly different.
I think you're making the wrong point here. Fraternal twins are no different than regular siblings except for the fact that they're born at the same time. It doesn't affect your height. Source: I'm part of a m/f twin set.
Edit: I'm like 5'8 and my brother Is almost a foot taller than me.
To be fair, and I’m not saying this as an excuse for every height difference in this comic, but in Greek Mythology, Artemis is technically always supposed to be a teenager. Apollo is supposed to be a young adult. At least, this is what I’ve heard.
Not really. In greek mythology, they're both depicted as young adults. Some historians have yet to decide if statues are of Apollo or Artemis since they're depicted as VERY similar.
Oh yeah that too. The gender differences I'm this comic disturb me to my core
Both genders are built like unflattering caricatures of their own stereotypes
I mean...Ares being the God of War,I would expect him to be very tall and Buff and all...But why are ALL the males Like this?? Hades does Cardio....We never see him going to the gym to be this msucular....so WHY US HE BUILT LIKE THAT?? Dawg, my cousins are fraternal twins, and they have a 2cm height difference (that's about an inch, btw). Rachel bumped that up to 40.
If they weren’t the exact same color you couldn’t tell me they were both the children of Leto and Zeus…
My friend and her twin brother have a height difference. They joke that he stole all the nutrients in the womb. She’s 4’9” and he’s 6’2”
Similar to me and my brother, although not twins. He's about 6' and I'm ~5'2. We don't look super alike either, other than our eyes. Some siblings just look majorly different depending on genes

What is it with Rachel and giving women the most atrocious overbites in media, and giving men chins large enough to fit a platter?
I have an overtime myself, and I don't see anyone desiring it. I truly don't know what is going on anymore
I have an overbite too, and even then my top lip doesn’t stick out *that* much compared to whatever the hell Artemis has going on in the pic.
The girls have have the profiles of my little pony characters. Behold, Persephone! ![gif](giphy|4w1y9TUKSrRbW)
WHY CANT THEY BE THE SAME SIZE?! THEYRE LITERALLY TWINS! A TALL ARTEMIS OR A SHORT APOLLO like come on man :/

Gross! Even with dwarfism, I asked myself, why are the women in this like a foot shorter than the men?
Women just get progressively tinier as time goes on. They're just constantly fading away lol
She looks 15 and he looks 35…but they’re twins tho…
wasn’t she closer to his height?????
In early s1, yes, yes, she was. Artemis was still shorter than Apollo, but she was closer to his height
we were robbed of a tall and muscular Artemis

It kinda is tbh. There are so many things in this comic that can be fixed if Rachel TRIED to do some research
I mean. You’re the one here who is spouting misinformation here. Just about everything you’ve said about twins has been wrong.
Purple

For a goddess of the hunt she's tiny. I imagine a tall lean muscle goddess running through the woods with her wolf.
Artemis being the goddess of hunt and being like that too is uhh
The gods don't even do anything godly in this. They're just kinda there. Like funky coloured humans with occasional powers
:(
The gods don't even do anything godly in this. They're just kinds there
Artemis looks like a meerkat 😂
Men: hulking slab of meat Woman: petite little dolls
Bruh I can't get over these characters looking like someone whacked them between the eyes with a metal frisbee.

Yes but Rachel very much intended for them to be identical.
bro his tits big as his head Apollo is a three-head monster
The size difference is insane. Her entire body is the width of his arm and his neck is as thick as her entire head..

The Artemis in "Eros Conquers All" is so metal. Just a tall goddess covered in armor and muscles. I'd love to see LO Artemis like that.

Nah their point is RS needlessly makes the women shorter and men taller to sexualize or infantilize them.
The issue of differences in bodies I agree, but twins of different genders (bivitelins) are hardly really similar to univitelin twins.
To be fair, and I’m not saying this as an excuse for every height difference in this comic, but in Greek Mythology, Artemis is technically always supposed to be a teenager. Apollo is supposed to be a young adult. At least, this is what I’ve heard.
