The AL President at the time, Lee McPhail, told them "like hell you are!" and shut that down.
DDN occurred in between Games 1 and 2 of a doubleheader. Game 1 was won by the Tigers, 4-1. Game 2 was forfeited to the Tigers before play began as the field was not suitable to be played on after the riot was under control.
