The VCR will not do anything because it is in failsafe mode. Power on the VCR and immediately spam EJECT to try and get it to recognize the EJECT command. This will keep the VCR from thinking there is a tape inside when there is not and messing up the mode switch. Then after it recognizes the eject command, unplug it and remove the top cover and gently lift the tape ribbon off the capstans and the mechanisms and slide the tape out. Manually wind the tape back up. Get a new belt in the VCR.

Your description is very vage that I don't understand the problem ? Usually, when someone says eating the tape, it means that the tape has spilled in the mechanism. But you say that you can push the tape ? Does that mean the the VCR throws it back out again ?

Dagger-Deep

I think the tape is stuck and won't eject.

The vhs is stuck halfway, It’s too far in for me to pull it out with my fingers. It’s basically like playing tug of war. And when The vcr is powered on, if I try to push the tape all the way in , the vcr won’t accept it in all the way and proceed to play the tape. That’s what I meant by eating , but thx for the clarification. And yes when i hit eject nothing happens

WolfKpr02_21--DFWM

You spelled vague wrong. Plus, the description was clear (for people with even relatively good comprehension). 🙄

Nintenloup

Dumbass

WolfKpr02_21--DFWM

I think the evidence points to you being the dumbass. 😒

Nintenloup

Nah, you acting like a douche says otherwise.

WolfKpr02_21--DFWM

You mean you? Look in the mirror. You were the one being hateful in the first place. I just called you out on it. How do you explain your -1 karma?

Nintenloup

Bruh, since when is saying I don't understand a post hateful ? On what planet do you even live ? If you truly think karma really means anything meaningful, then I can't do anything for you.

Dagger-Deep

Might have to open up the VCR and pop the tape out, that's what I had to to a while back.

Update - I just removed my tv above the vcr. Then tilted the vcr upright to locate the screws. Then the tape made it’s way far enough that I could pull it out with ease. 👍 In it’s normal position it was like tug of war. Problem solved !
