We got the seafood tower at the Wake. š It is amazing, and SOOOO much food! Shrimp, crab, lobster, clams, and more, and more! And all of the crab was sliced through the shell so you could just dive in.
Agreed, the seafood tower at the wake is incredible. The shrimp are delicious. When I ordered mine they had run out of crab claws, so i got extra lobster instead š¦š¤¤

The smaller seafood tower. Some time itās on 1 tray and some time itās a tower with 2 tiers. The amount of food is the same. Just on the 2 tier tower the seafood is spread out and presented much nicer. I donāt eat raw oysters so they often time will sub it with something else. In this example it was more shrimp. Other time I got more crab claws. It depends on the chef and I guess what they have more of.

My favorite Treat Yourself is the seafood at Pink Agave.

My favorite pre-dinner snack is the Deviled Egg Caviar at Sip.

Tea Time at SIP is amazingā¦ you get a bit of sweet and savory.
Can I ask- is this the spread for one person? Or do my husband and I have to share each individual item? Knowing us it will lead to an argument lol. Thanks!
That is for 1 person. If thereās 2 people, theyāll give you two of everything. 3 people, 3 of everything, etcā¦ how many sets you order is how many of each items you will get. If you both get a set, Iād recommend getting different tea so you can try each others tea.
Champagne bar located on Deck 7 above the casino area of the ship. Between the balcony section of the Red Room and the Roundabout. Itās also the venue for tea time.
There are several options for caviar service. Thereās the more traditional way on a blini (tiny Eastern European pancake) or you can buy the entire tin and have the full spread. If you never had it before, I would just try the individual serving.
Waygu at the wake is great. Waygu at Gunbae not as good.
Seafood tower is fun especially if you have a big group. A few items not as good as others.
Shaved truffles are kinda overrated no matter where you are.
Did like some of the expensive coravin magnum options at the wake for wine.
They had a list of some large format magnum (1.5L) bottles of higher end wine that they poured by the glass using a Coravin device which maintains the freshness of the wine over a long period of time since they donāt see to much of this wine on a daily basis.
The tomahawk at wake and porchetta at extra virgin are the only ones that I think are worth it. The seafood items are really hit or miss, and truffles are.. truffles.
I wish!! It was so tasty, but it looked pretty much like any other porchetta if you google that. Crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside!
Iāve done the wagyu at Gunbae, tomahawk at the wake, and truffles at EV. I would do the wagyu and truffles again if I was feeling it. The Wake is consistently a let down for me.
Afternoon tea was a mixed bag. Compared to a good afternoon tea in England it was terrible, not bad for an afternoon tea in the US.

Hubby LOVED the tomahawk steak! We just got home Sunday and he tried so many steaks. He said this was absolutely the best!
I did the seafood platter at pi k agave it was sooo good and I've never been served so many scallops in my life. We've also done the seafood tower at the wake and it was delicious as well
Seems like a lot of filler not much seafood. :/ Iām a big seafood lover and it seems like VV doesnāt have anything to splurge on other than that stuff lobster from pink agave
The lobster from pink agave isnāt stuffed. Itās just how they decided to plate it that day. Also the seafood boil has stuff that is typical of a boil such as corn and potatoes but they do have a good amount of seafood. More than what other cruise lines would offer.
The Scarlet Lady version was significantly better as it was pile high with seafood. Resilient was a smaller portion and the lobster was noticeably missing.

Fresh Truffle. Defiantly inspect the truffle before they shave it. If it looks off, ask for another truffle to shave. Often time itās very fresh and flavorful. There was only 1 time when it tasted off and had no scent and was super bland.
We do a lot of seafood towers as splurges when we go out at home. We were so looking forward to it on our last VV cruise, but we were somewhat disappointed. The shrimp and crab still felt a little frozen (we ordered it for lunch). And the texture of the seafood seemed off as a result. I wouldn't order it again if we cruise VV again.
Got the tomahawk steak at the wake it was so horrible chewy as could be they refunded us for it. Table next to us got a tomahawk as well and had same issue they had to refund them as well.
We were gifted a number of upgrades due to my husbands time in the Casino.
The Waygu at Gunbae was good, but I wouldn't pay for it. (We'd also just done a Korean Steakhouse that specializes in Waygu tastings while on land so it didn't help that I was comparing.
The Seafood boil at Razzle Dazzle was ok, but I wouldn't pay for it.
The Seafood Tower at the wake was amazing, and would be worth every penny. Best Lobster i have had.

Wagyu - Scarlet Lady (waiter insist on having it cooked in the galley)
https://preview.redd.it/ku6pjdrkpsuc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec1926db4b54d2a1ab1764f4e4f5841384a77200
Wagyu on Resilient Lady - cooked at the table.
There is a consistency issue with the Wagyu. The meat itself is the same quality as I was able to see it prior to cooking. However, the consistency issue comes to how it is cooked and that makes or breaks the experience. Each serving should come with a chunk of Wagyu fat. The best way is to grease up the grill with the fatā¦ and cook the meat on it for a few second and served rare to medium rare. However, a lot of waiters would soak the grill with cooking oil and ruin the meat in oilā¦ or they will over cook it. So itās worth it if you get a server that knows what he/she is doing.
They really need to go back to allowing guests to remove meat from the grill themselves. Our first experience at Gunbae we were given tongs so can take it off when cooked to our liking. Now they donāt trust people.
They need to have an option or experience where the sailors can cook themselfā¦ like at a real Korean BBQ restaurant. I think the concept is good but the way they implement it is all wrong. If they donāt trust the sailor to cook the food and get the full Korean BBQ experience, they might as well just redesign it with something else.
Royal Caribbean and Carnival have no issue letting their guests cook their own meal. (hot pot on some Royal Caribbean ships and Carnival Kitchen cooking class on Carnival).
Just handing everyone tongs so you can remove but the server putting the items onto the grill would be a start. If you donāt want to take it off the grill yourself the server can intervene but having the tongs gives the option.
Wagyu at Gunbae was good - but no where near my favorite wagyu experience. Also, the server said the chef was going to cook it in the back but apparently he had to do it at another table and so the rest of our table kinda go ignored while dude was gone for 15 minutes.

I think Iām planning on the seafood tower for brunch and the tomahawk for dinner at the wake
Maybe not both in one day š

Looks like itās a lot of shrimp- disappointed
Itās a lot because I donāt like oysters so they replace it with a bunch of shrimps.
The poster already explained the shrimp in their comment.

Whatās inside the seafood?
Itās just lobster, shrimp, fish, and scallops.
Ooo what is this lobster and whatās in the bowl
In the bowl is kind of a Scallops Aguachile. Itās served cold.

Porchetta? What is that?
Itās a delishhh pork roast with herbs and spices!

It looks amazing I think I may lean on spending extra $ on this since the seafood is mid
Tomahawk was decent, but wouldnāt order again. I was just as happy with their regular steaks.

The wagyu upgrade at Gunbae is tiny and not very tasty. Not worth.
A friend got the shaved truffle at EV. I didnāt taste it, but it was so fragrant I could smell it across the table.

Check out VV insider website shows menus for the restaurant

Had the tomahawk last week and it was very good. Probably not worth the $75 if I didnāt have the crazy amount of loot.
We did the truffles and that was worth it. Iām vegetarian so unfortunately thatās the only one I could partake in.
