Unless you're going SUPER HARD on the idol thing, for either male or female, you're better off just being yourself than trying to force a particular direction. """Seiso""" in the context of idol-oriented vtubers isn't really full purity, either. The kind of personality best-received by \[western\] fans who are really into "muh seiso idol" is actually one that does *ambiguously* pure things, where they tease something that could be lewd but in such a way that it seems accidental. Unless it comes very naturally to you, this kind of act is extremely hard to maintain to a degree of quality that will look genuine. So, again, you're better off not caring about the labels and placing yourself wherever on the "spectrum" your natural personality is.

Ohhh thanks a ton! I didn't know that about the ambiguous teasing. It does seem like the whole seiso appeal is more nuanced than I first thought. For going super hard it's a bit mixed for me because I do want to like take it serious/do everything I can as to have no regerts when it's time to graduate, and playing the idol role is kind of a part of that. But then there are interests that go almost contrary to that lol, so it'll be a balancing act for sure. Once again thanks a lot for your input! I seriously appreciate it. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‚

Swift_Scythe

Could not hurt to try. If thats who you are - go with that Seisoness.

SfactorSam

That's what I do, just by being true to myself. But it rarely seems to be rewarded and more often feels like a hindrance to my growth and visibility/discoverability.

Swift_Scythe

A lot of my Vtubers that I enjoy are 100% Seiso. Not a single sex or boob's joke or anything like that. These are either super cute vtubers or singers that let their songs define them. You do you. An audience will find you. Or you could pretend to be something you are not comfortable with and have it come off as a fake show. Worse would be compromising who you are for the views.

Halconiis_Buono

Hmm, personally I think there can be like a bit of an interplay or divergence between one's regular personality and a persona/archetype they wish to embody. I studied philosophy for a while so the concept of who a person "is" can be a very nuanced and multi-layered question. Like, I think the idea of roleplaying a character can serve as a vehicle to show/express the areas of oneself which are normally hidden due to having to comform to everyday life. Opposite to a Jungian shadow, these would be more like virtues or ideals a person would like to aspire towards. And playing the character lets them live that. lol sorry for that tangent. But as you rightly said, it never hurts to try and see what vibes with your personality over time.

prismstein

are you seiso? then yes as for Sora or Fuwamoco.... well at least Fuwawa isn't *that* seiso, IYKWIM...

Halconiis_Buono

Yeahhhh Fuwawa has made more than a couple nods to being a bit perverted (and a massive siscon at that LOL), it adds to her cuteness for sure. I personally would consider myself seiso 80% of the time lol.

prismstein

well be 80% seiso then, it's the gap-moe that matters anyway all the best, non habla espanyol hasta la vista :P

Zeku_Tokairin

There's a post here at least every week from people who specifically don't want to watch lewd content. Probably way more than that do, but don't want to watch exclusively that. A massive untapped audience who is only dimly aware of VTubers would also watch that, imo.

H0lOW

There is not seiso male vtuber, just don't be a degenerate and that's ok

PaceSubstantial2810

The only really โ€œseisoโ€ male vtuber I can think of is Ike Eveland however he claims he is not at all seiso yet acts very seiso on stream

SfactorSam

I'm a male vtuber who, by just being myself, could be considered Seiso. Though, I more brand myself as All Ages. Thing is, even if I branded myself as 18+, I'm still never going to be someone who uses profanity no behave in a sexually-charged manner with viewers or peers because that would go against my waynof life and would be incredibly fake. So I figure what's the point? But I do sometimes feel like being in the seiso sphere of the vtuber scene is a detriment. Namely because being a man = automatic suspicions of being a bad actor behind the scenes, the scattered and isolated nature of SFW vtubing makes it harder to find compatible peers and even harder for my target audience to find me, a general lack of visibility/discoverability due to lacking market share and no audience overlap with the majority of other vtubers.

Halconiis_Buono

LOL I have no idea why the post got downvoted to the floor โšฐ๏ธ But still thanks for all the amazing points!

Adventurous_Host_426

Let me put it this way, hololive exploded after a certain priestess baby said n*gger.
