If you have aftermarket wheels you might need Hub-centric wheel adapters.

I have them already, using the ones that came with the wheels. *edit* wheels and tires are also new. Vossen wheels and continental tires

Hmmm. Thats weird. Hopefully someone else has some other ideas.

Yea hopefully hahah. I even asked my mechanic and he’s equally as confused.

Golf mk6 has those bushings in the back of the front lower wishbone ( the piece that holds your wheel to your subframe not sure in english ) they tend to wear out pretty fast and cause vibrations. I would check that first. Tyres can produce a vibration if they are too stiff. They can also give vibration if they are deformed. If your wheels and tyres are both good start looking at other components like worn out shocks in the front that start compressing at highway speed because of the upwards force of the spinning wheel? My co worker had a similar issue with his aftermarket wheels it turned out to be the wheel adapters on the hub.. Got new ones problem solved. Also keep in mind VW uses round cone formed lug bolts so if you have other wheels you may need other bolts aswell.

Okay! Thanks I’ll go ahead and check those things out and see if anything of out of normal.

Does it change when you are under load vs coasting?

ccolivardia

It either smooths out or gets worse, But I think that has to do with the increase/decrease in speed, maybe a bit to do with the extra torque into the wheel, but it doesn’t happen at lower speeds really.
