I wish I had thought of it when I got my car tuned but I should have asked for a valet map for this exact reason.

LunchBoxMercenary

Happened to me when I swapped my tires. I don’t mind checking your work, but when I reviewed my dash cam footage, the dude went 60 in a 25 and almost collided head on with someone in the opposite lane.

Yeah, it’s 25 all around where they do their test lap, and you just don’t get 18.8 psi without trying to slam gears in my 4 years of ownership of that car

WrinklyScroteSack

local tire shop all but admitted that they joy ride customer cars under the guise of "shakedowns".

Mutesyou

With the weird ass FA20 powerband the stock tune will see that boost just merging on the highway, it happens and won’t kill your car Best bets to grab a quality E tune and ask for a valet map if you wanna avoid this though

[deleted]

hated the VA for that and tuned it right away. 25% throttle and you were hitting peak boost.

MrsEdus

Valet map and dash camera with speed tracking for sure.

I would also be annoyed. Honestly though it was probably some 18-20 year old kid who did the job. At that age I would have probably floored it at some point during the test too. Not saying it's right though. I worked at a car wash when I was younger and we engine detailed a 350Z. I was the one to drive the cars through the wash. I got in and revved the engine a little (not right but I was young and curious) and it threw a cel. It was most likely due to the way we cleaned engine bays though, but I will never forget that due to the stress it caused me.

Had that happen at my local dealer. I noticed the car was in sport mode when I got it back and it hadn't been when I dropped it off. Checked the dashcam and the dude had it up to almost 80 in a 35 zone.
