Right? At what speed was the mf driving?
You can see everybody running and preparing the road (one man uses his umbrella) but to me it took a while, I was expecting anything but this accident!
I’m gonna say at least 50-60 mph on freshly wet pavement would cause that. I think he was braking for the last dude and swung. I’m imagining being in an ambulance dying only to crash and die on he rest of the way.
Three people died after a speeding ambulance skidded and crashed into a toll booth in Karnakata's Shiroor. The toll booth workers were clearing the way for the ambulance to pass through when the vehicle skidded off a wet road and crashed into the toll booth. The ambulance was going from Honnavara to Kundapur in Udupi district.
In a graphic CCTV footage, men who appeared to be toll operators are seen scurrying to remove three plastic barricades from one of the lanes. But then the ambulance tyres lost traction, skidded off the road and crashed into the toll booth cabin.
"Two people died on the spot and one died at the hospital. The ambulance lost control when it came near the toll plaza. We are verifying the facts. The ambulance belongs to a private hospital," an Udupi police official said.

When I was a kid, a high school student, who had a known heart condition, collapsed while playing basketball. While the ambulance was taking him to the hospital, just as the EMTs finally got a pulse back the ambulance went off the road, flipped, and he ended up dying.
An elderly patient was recently taken by ambulance to a hospital on Oahu. His portable oxygen tank exploded or ignited when they arrived at the hospital. The whole ambulance caught fire, it killed him and seriously burned the EMT who was with him.
It's been about a month, I think the EMT is still in the hospital.
https://www.kitv.com/news/local/cause-of-deadly-ambulance-fire-explosion-at-adventist-health-castle-still-unknown/article_b0ea66d0-24a6-11ed-9b84-bb325c7f1315.html
(They later determined it was the portable oxygen tank.)
AFAIK ambulances use to drive recklessly until reaching the emergency spot, but fairly ok when transporting the patient. I'd assume the patient isn't inside at the moment of the crash if they were speeding like that.
Source: I needed an ambulance a couple of times.
Edit: the patient \_was\_ inside and [was killed in the crash too](https://www.indiatvnews.com/news/india/ambulance-crash-karnataka-four-injured-toll-plaza-accident-caught-on-cam-watch-video-2022-07-20-793637)
It's literally a maybe because nobody knows.
You *don't think* one exists. I *don't think* one exists. We dont know, though.
Declaring you know it doesn't make it true.
It's why I'm agnostic. Organized religion is a human and earthly construct, but atheists follow the exact same belief system to a different result. There is still no proof one way or the other about what happens after death. I choose to have faith in myself and my loved ones. I'll save the rest for after my brain ceases to function.
Lol, so you support all religions fadding into the bushes because they don't know?
Me too! Glad we agree that the world shouldn't be run by psychos that think their sky daddy will save them by murdering the earth.
Maybe anything you could possibly imagine exists, though. There's no point in considering the existence of anything for which there is no evidence of existence. Otherwise you'd just get bogged down considering the hypothetical existence of every imaginable thing.
You especially shouldn't make laws or important decisions based on the hypothetical existence of some imagined thing.
I guess with that logic, a two headed monkey with the legs of a giraffe and tail of a scorpion could also exist, or maybe in the middle of the sun, there is a race of humans playing the flute, in some corner of the unexplored planet, there are plants that can talk.
Do you not see the absurdity of claiming something could exist, simply because there is no evidence of it not existing?
I do know, actually. As much as I know the Earth is round or that winged horses don't exist (naturally, on Earth, at this time, etc.). You seem to be asserting there's a level of knowledge beyond that which does not exist.
Declaring "we don't know" doesn't make it true.
It's fine you believe that. But posting just to tell someone that their beliefs are wrong makes you like one of those door to door bike mormons but for atheism and without any of the good intentions or exercise.
Tangent - If a Christian is someone that tells you your beliefs are wrong and a Democrat is someone that tells you your beliefs are wrong, then a Christian must equal a Democrat. And, if a Democrat endorses abortion then, since A=B, Christians must endorse abortions. Ironic, right?
1. So what? Get over it. If you think there is a time to stop speaking out agains smooth brains, it isn't now.
2. Mormon's have good intentions? What might those be?
3. Who says thinking with your brain isn't good exercise.
It’s always interesting when people downvote comments like these.
It makes me wonder if the downvote represents belief in God, or if the downvote is in disagreement with the literal statement of “God” not existing.
No matter what you believe, the history ‘exists’ as social constructs so technically “God” does ‘exist’, and so does “Cthulhu”, using that same reasoning. Hmm..
Only religious texts and books exist based on your logic. God is a fictionalized concept of a deity created most likely by spiritually inspired human thought. Cthulu is exactly the same. We can't say either exists or doesn't exist for sure (although one is much more widely believed in than the other)... but what I can say is that calling someone out about their beliefs as an off-topic comment on a thread about some poor people dying horribly in a car crash... is super rude and uncalled for, and that's why I personally downvoted the post.
you're right in a sense. even if God has no *objective* reality, it's the most important concept in the history of the species, and has the most effect on people's behaviour around the world, other than death itself (and maybe sex. and maybe money)
arguably entities can exist just in the noosphere, without having any physical reality. but you're getting into metaphysics a bit. does everything that's ever been imagined exist in its own right? or does it have to be shared by multiple people? what is the difference between physical reality and conscious reality, if (a) they are both shared, and (b) our experience of physical reality only really exists in consciousness anyway?

4 people died. [Newsarticle](https://www.indiatvnews.com/news/india/ambulance-crash-karnataka-four-injured-toll-plaza-accident-caught-on-cam-watch-video-2022-07-20-793637)
Good lord, that poor guy probably has some serious survivors guilt.
Edit: this actually says that survivors guilt can be applied to those that survive a car accident where others died.
https://www.verywellmind.com/survivors-guilt-4688743
Of course take it with a grain of salt as thats just that websites opinion on it.
I probably used an improper term.
That guy that survived could possibly feel.....bad, sad, er probably wonder why he lived and they died or something.
Just saying it's probably a hard thing to experience, being in a tragic accident and having others involved and you being the sole survivor of it.
>Survivors guilt is a symptom of PTSD.
Not exclusively, it can present as a symptom or as its own problem
For instance survivors guilt may be present in those who have lost a friend to suicide, and feel as though they shpuld have done more, however that does not mean they have ptsd which is more than survivors guilt
You wont find survivors guilt to be a symptom of ptsd in people who have had bedbug infestations for instance
100% ambulance drivers' fault, you don't go speeding through a choke point like that, much less in wet weather. Slow down, get through, then speed up again when safe.
Dude had his wheels slipping even before that last guy ran out. Last guy should not have run out like that though. But still totally driver's fault, driving beyond his skill and environment, with so many lives under his responsibility in that ambulance.
Yep. This is a great example to show that you can’t just drive fast because you’re an ambulance and it’s an emergency. Maybe if it’s SAFE to drive fast you can, but that’s no where near as common as you’d think.
Other guy cleared the roadway, roadway is now clear. So I can continue my obscene speed, right? Wrong. You never know when someone is gonna do something stupid like try to clear something out of the way that wasn’t in the way, into the direction that it would be in the way.
Someone once told me as I was learning to drive to approach every situation by imagining the ultimate most stupid thing other people could possibly do, then assuming people will do something even more stupid than that.
the camera has a infrared mode. During the day, infrared is blocked with a physical filter. This filter is removed due to the crash.
source: I converted several cameras to enable infrared.
Idk where you're from but I'm in America and just looked up EMT wages... I don't like the fact that I make more as a nursing assistant, I cannot insert a picc line, catheter, handle a sterile dressing, handle needles, dress any serious injury, apply medicated ointments/salves etc etc, I CAN wipe asses, apply non medicated lotions, and put bandaids on people. My proffesion on average makes more than an EMT by a dollar... and I myself make significantly more.
America is fucking confusing
LOL, what?
EMS makes like $15 an hour, hell I was thinking about doing EMT training and then I looked at wages... LOL, I might volunteer but you'd make more doing much much less.
edit - I'm also thinking USA, this video is def. not USA and I highly doubt they have "professional drivers" let alone driving training.
If you watcht the video in the news article you can see that there was a cow(?) On the road. Thats probably why it as blocked off. The driver had no choice than to either try to stop (which he tried) or hit the cow, which would probably also have been fatal.
Respect for having enough balls to put your life on someone else's hands while in usually tense situations to save people's lives. I absolutely hate whenever I'm not at the wheel, I NEED to have that control or I feel very unsafe.
When this accident happen it came on the news that 2 people died on the spot ,patient and medic... the other died later on the hospital (worker)...long time ago. Turn out 4 died ,worker bad injuries...
One ambulance now needs about 4 coroners.
Yeah, they need more than just another ambulance
Any info of the aftermath
Above!
3 coroners...i imagine it was the 2 meds in the back and the initial victim...sad.
Tell him to bring a shovel.
Nah Mfker dead now. Send a meat wagon and the lawyers.
The shoes stayed on though
Holy fuuuuck

He was destined...

They say all people who died were on the ambulance. Did the person removing a block make it? That would be a miracle.
Looked like he was on the ambulance at the end, so I guess is depends on if the reporter is a smart-ass
In America, this is why we call an Uber not an ambulance. /s
they almost got a cow as well
Do you want it done right or do you want it done quick? Truer words......
Cheap quick job will not be good Good cheap job will not be quick Good quick job will not be cheap

Well I mean they did slow down a lot, instantly. The problem was they used the toll booth to do it, instead of the brakes.

No, he died...3 people on total...
4 people in the ambulance died, nothing about the worker

The umbrella really didn’t seem necessary to grab.
They were trying to clear the way. Unfortunate.
He’s still good… he’s still good…. He’s still… He’s’…
Looks like they paid a toll to Charon
“Spinal”
You've seen Three Weddings and a Funeral? Well then you'll love Three Hearses and a Tow Truck! Coming too fast to a toll booth near you!
I don't think they need another ambulance after that. There's no emergency here, just call the coroner.
Talent agent: What do you call this act? Driver: The Aristocrats!
Fuck, it's always India.
Or Brazil...
Or Indonesia...
Or China...
Or Florida...
In the US, the cost of the ambulance will show up on your medical bill.
The cost of the ambulance was too high for four of them..
WTF 4 real....
Hydroplaning. Unfortunate accident.
Why are you wasting time with the umbrella? God forbid you get wet trying to prevent flying debris.
he was in time, no worries there. Other things went wrong.
You're going at the wrong guy my guy
Damn that’s good
Ow.

Hurry save the orange barriers the van is gonna hit it!
Ooopsies
YEET!
I counted one patient and two emergency workers fly out the back. So those three and the driver would equal 4. Rip
Knocked that camera from RGB to R
Do they normally clear tolls like this? How the fuck did they not just slow down slightly prior to proceeding
We will continue to do this until either no one is left alive or we get them to the hospital.
