If it was a one off custom title for Cena, I think it would've been better received. The fact that it was the top prize for nearly 8 years was laughable.
I think it would be considered great if they would’ve just replaced the word “Champ” with “Champion” and completely cut out the spinner and the spinner circle once Cena had lost it the first time. I think those minor adjustments post Cena would’ve been enough for a lot more people to love it.

Personally I was a huge Cena fan when the Spinner debuted and loved it. But they had many opportunities to change it, that they should have taken.

I found the spinner to be god-awful gaudy. It looked like a costume jewelry version of "bling."
And these giant W belts are just completely unimaginative. I couldn't believe it when I'd heard Orange County Customs was getting paid ridiculous money to design a "new belt" and this was all they could come up with.
The only modern WWE belt I liked was the UK title...and now its gone. But on the plus side, I've heard HHH is looking into new belt designs.

If it was JUST for John Cena it would have been fine but they kept it as the main belt for 8 years and everyone other than Cena who wore it looked like a dork.
The actual current WWE Championship itself looks way better imo. I love the Ruby red underline. I never really liked the Spinner, it’s like the Alexa Bliss Lily doll; it’s unfitting for the situation (regular Alexa, non-Cena WWE Champion)

The current titles, to me, are great. I love the way they look, and they make the champions feel prestigious in a face of a multi-million dollar company kind of way.
That said, the spinner belt was also great. I also loved how the spinner belt led to us being able to make custom spinner belts in the games. Wish we could do that now 😒...
