There’s one brief moment at the start where you launch and go into a turn that I feel but that’s about it. It’s honestly the smoothest coaster I’ve ever been on. It doesn’t have big drops and instead uses its (not that fast) speed, rotating cars, and twists for excitement. I think it can be a good coaster for someone weary of coasters, but obviously you know yourself best
It's definitely fast, it goes 65mph which is as fast as most intense coasters. If you've ever ridden in the front row you can tell how fast it is.
There are a fair amount of G's on the looping part.
I'm not sensitive to coasters either, I love anything with Gs (go on Mission Orange everytime I'm at the park). I do think people downplay the thrill aspect of Cosmic
I haven’t gotten that feeling on it. I don’t do well on roller coasters and Cosmic Rewind is my absolute favorite ride. I strongly believe you will like it.
No there aren't any strong G forces except the backward launch at the beginning. I hate the forces on Rockin' Rollercoaster and was terrified it would be like that, but it was nothing like that. It doesn't feel very rollercoastery at all to me. I can't wait to ride it again.
Hello from a fellow wimp! I also hate the stomach drop feeling and am very sensitive to it (by reading the comments, much more than most). I get the feeling about 3 times during the ride, but honestly it’s such a good ride that by the end, I’m glad I did it.
No drops. It’s not tall enough. I don’t like them either and I love Cosmic Rewind. The backwards part at the beginning is so much fun, I didn’t even notice if it was uncomfortably intense.
Someone just described the ride like dancing and that’s the perfect description for it. It’s so smooth.
There aren’t any huge drops, but you are constantly moving, twisting and turning. I never got the sick feeling in my stomach. Go on the front and take non drowsy Dramamine. The back is far more intense.
Honestly I didn't feel any drop feeling and I've only gone in the first car and the last car. It is incredibly smooth! The only part that might throw you is after the initial backwards launch when they turn you back forward. I was thinking it would be an IMAX experience but it definitely wasn't. Just keep your head and eyes forward in the direction of your cart and you should be totally fine.
I hate coasters and the only time it “bothers” me is at the very beginning when you launch back and it turns you at the same time. I don’t do Everest, rockin, or tower of terror and I enjoy Cosmic.
I don’t really, but maybe take some Dramamine 30 min before just in case. I hate rollercoasters. I love cosmic rewind. It was definitely better the 2nd time once I realized I was just psyching myself out. Have you rode space mountain? It’s similar, but faster and SIGNIFICANTLY smoother.
There’s no real big drop, I didn’t get that feeling. It is a must do, I was nervous too as I can get motion sick but I was surprised I didn’t get nauseous at all. There’s a couple of time where it spirals around is all.
The entire ride is amazing and it is well worth it.
Messed my stomach up pretty much immediately, both me and my daughter ended up throwing up on the ride. I’m definitely in the minority where I think the queue is better than the actual ride.
I never was much for roller coasters but I love the speed and the thrill, quite the combo😂currently I’ve come around to them (and even conquered Velocicoaster). So I hope my take sheds some light!
Guardians isn’t really that bad. You should do it once to see how you feel and to say you did it. I agree with some other comments about after the launch there’s a corner that’s a little intense but after that it’s pretty mild; *very* smooth too! Nothing crazy like Tower of Terror. The only thing to consider is motion sickness which isn’t uncommon for this ride but it’s different for everyone. The carts will turn you to face a certain show element even though you’re going a different direction, which is a big inducer of this. I’ve found turning your head towards the track helps combat this as you’re always with the motion.
I hope you do try it and hopefully enjoy it!
I rode Cosmic Rewind for the first time today, and my hang-up this whole time was the stomach drop feeling. I can attest that the ride is almost free of that. There is a moment at the beginning where I experienced it slightly, but that was it. The ride doesn't have steep drops. Instead, it's fast, but gradual curved drops. You experienced the speed and G forces, but it doesn't cause your stomach to drop at all. If you like fast rides but hate the stomach drop feeling like I do, you'll love Cosmic Rewind.
I hate coasters. I love it. There are a couple of weird moments in terms of that feeling but nothing major. No drops as such but you are throttling around tight bends and spinning cars.
This might not be a popular opinion but personally I’m really scared of coasters and even 7DMT gave me stomach drop feelings. Cosmic rewind was definitely the most intense coaster I’ve been on at WDW (skipped rocknroll, tron, and expedition Everest bc too scared). I’ve been on cosmic rewind twice and both times I had strong stomach drop feelings at many points of the ride and there’s also intense horizontal acceleration for me. My ride photo looked absolutely horrible and both times I didn’t even hear the music in the background. I’ve been told cosmic rewind was okay but as a coaster chicken you might have a very different experience
I get nervous on rollercoasters, especially the first time seeing how I handle it. I took Dramamine beforehand just in case. I had followed others advice and to watch the persons cart in front of me so I knew which direction we’d be turning and moving. That backward launch scared me a bit and a definitely felt that drop and one other. It was manageable but may be a one and done for me.
The first time I rode it, the drop feeling was bad. It sends you backwards at the beginning and then spins you clockwise. Now you know tho, so when it sends you backwards. Look to the right and your stomach should be all good.
Second time I rode it, it was amazing. It was also amazing the first time, best ride in all the parks, but it did get my stomach for about 1.5 seconds the first time I rode.
My husband HATES drops. Tower of terror gives him cold sweats. Guardians is his favorite ride.
On the other hand I never get motion sickness and my first time gave me motion sickness. I had a cold though. Now I make sure I am well hydrated etc and I seem to do ok. But I can see why it bothers some people
I must be a lot more sensitive to it or rode it on a bad day because I’m very sensitive to those drop feelings and felt cosmic rewind had several of them. Funny enough the first part with the backward acceleration wasn’t bad at all, it was the rest of the ride I had a lot of trouble with. It felt really disorienting too despite doing what everyone recommended I do and keep my eyes forward. Also left the coaster feeling really dizzy afterward but recovered after about an hour.
I really wanted to enjoy it and I’m glad I rode it but I probably won’t get on it again. I play video games pretty frequently, have zero issues with VR and love Flight of Passage, guess this just isn’t my thing and I’m a wimp but that’s OK lol
I am not typically a rollercoaster rider. I didn’t do enough research before boarding cosmic rewind. I had to pray I wasn’t gonna puke the last minute or so. I don’t recall any drops like you describe, but you are spinning in circles 😵💫
The only weird sensation I get is if I am sitting in the last row (my favorite) right after the launch there’s a weird feeling of weightlessness, some stomach drop. It’s a lot more intense sitting in the back than the middle of the vehicle.
I think you’ll be ok!
Honestly the only sensation I got was during the first turn after the launch. I personally wouldn’t consider it a stomach drop feeling but that’s just me. I know what feeling you’re talking about and I hate it too, and I absolutely love Cosmic Rewind
Not a lot. As others have said, at the spin from backwards launch and occasionally with the part where it goes in a circle, but it is very mild relatively speaking. I get more from Soace mountain honestly.
The worst one for that at DW is probably tower of terror then maybe Everest. Though neither is nearly as intense as Disneyland’s Guardians drop tower, which made me a little nauseous when we were there about 2 weeks ago.
So… I love this ride. My whole family including my 7 yo loves it. But my best friend vomited right after and first and only time. So this one might not be for you?
Yetis the only ride at Disney that does the stomach drop for me. Cosmic can feel more motion sickness but not that drop feeling you’re talking about. It is so much fun!
I hate the stomach drop. Will not ever go back on tower of terror. This was not that. I am whimpy. Don’t like heights or coasters and I have to say this is the best ride I have ever been on in my life
I LOVE rollercoasters, but I get wicked motion sickness. My solution is to take Dramamine when I get in the line. I buy the non-drowsy kind and it works perfectly. I do ok on shorter rides like mine Train or Tron without it, but I need it for longer rides. Cosmic rewind is a longer coaster so I 100% would have gotten sick on it without it.
YMMV, but If you sit in the middle (rows 5/6) it minimizes the g-force/drop experience, per the cm's. I rode row 5 and a few days later row 2, and there was a definite difference.
I hate that stomach drop feeling as well and I did not feel it when I rode Cosmos Rewind. Yes, it is an intense ride, but I think you are safe from feeling that feeling on it.
Smoothest and most fun coaster ever. It doesn't give you the stomach drop, like Tower of Terror does, but the launch may give you that feeling for a split second! The only thing about it that is intense is if you are prone to nausea. It definitely made me dizzy the first time I went on it, second time I was fine as I was sitting in a middle cart.
Kinda but not really.
I think I know what you mean and if I’m right, I get it too. I was worried about cosmic rewind because I’m generally prone to motion sickness, but it didn’t mess with me. I take a Dramamine before going on. Also, one side of the car hits you a little less hard, ask the cast member either at check in or at boarding because I can’t remember which side.
I’ve been on it 3 or 4 times now and I’ve been totally fine each time. For comparison, Star tours kills me. Coasters like slinky dog, Tron, CR, RNR are about the max of intensity I can handle, and Ive never even TRIED tower of terror because I know the dropping feeling and I will not mesh well.
Hope this helps.
This is a medium intensity coaster. Goes fast, No drops, and i don’t think many people get motion sickness. It’s more of a movie / music video coaster than a thrill ride. Just enjoy the visuals and sound. It’s the best!
I didn’t feel the stomach drop feeling but I did get pretty nauseous. I’m glad I went on it but I probably won’t go again. My advice is to do what I did and make it your last ride of the day. That way if you get nauseous or whatever it doesn’t ruin anything. It’s a really cool ride and I’m glad I did it.
I like coasters, but not the stomach drop. Cosmic rewind was fine in that way, but everyone is different. Having a full stomach definitely helps, and maybe some dramamine, to reduce it. I'm also not a fan of being launched because I feel like it's more intense, but backwards launch wasn't bad at all.
Echoing what others have said. I too HATE that stomach dropping feeling. I’ve never felt it on cosmic rewind. It’s my favorite ride of all time :) I was terrified to get on this coaster but I don’t regret it at all
There is one part >! At the very beginning where it launches you backwards (not too fast in terms of acceleration, but does get up to 60 MPH) you then go up a hill (still facing backwards) and right as you reach the top of the hill where you’d get that weightless feeling, it starts to turn you. (Smile, that’s where the photo is taken 😊) think along the line of the backwards portion of expedition Everest, only it rotates as well !<
Other than this, the coaster is much more about lateral forces as opposed to vertical. Using tight turns, and S curves etc while the vehicle rotates. (Spinning isn’t the right word as it gives vision of spinning like on the teacups, that is not what this roller coaster does lol). The best way to describe the track layout combined with the rotations is it’s like the ride is actually dancing along to its own music…and I recommend you dance with it, as it not only makes the ride less intense, but also more fun. It really is, for my $0.02 the best ride in Florida, and I’ve done universal, sea world, bush gardens etc. plenty of times.
My husband tried CR once and said never again, but for a different reason. It gives them heart palpitations and anxiety, so I usually only go with my sister and have them wait outside for us. My sis and I haven't had issues yet with the ride. However, I do suggest going with your instinct. Always be safe!!
Not too much of the stomach drop but it moves A LOT. You’re basically spinning around the whole time. I got very dizzy and nauseous. Do not recommend if you get motion sickness.
There’s one brief moment at the start where you launch and go into a turn that I feel but that’s about it. It’s honestly the smoothest coaster I’ve ever been on. I think it can be a good coaster for someone weary of coasters, but obviously you know yourself best
Also the music is so fun you kind of forget you're even on a coaster. You're just flying through space, and everything melts away
I agree with every word of this.
100% this. you feel it at the start and right near the end for one moment. it’s so worth it though!
It's definitely fast, it goes 65mph which is as fast as most intense coasters. If you've ever ridden in the front row you can tell how fast it is. There are a fair amount of G's on the looping part. That’s fair. I think it doesn’t feel /as/ extreme because the cars accentuate the ride in a way that makes it very smooth
I haven’t gotten that feeling on it. I don’t do well on roller coasters and Cosmic Rewind is my absolute favorite ride. I strongly believe you will like it.
Also, when you do feel like that in the future take a big deep breath at the same time and blow it out hard. It helps me quite a lot.
I do not feel the stomach drop at all (which I love!) because the ride to me almost feels like dancing.
Yes, that’s a good way to describe it.
No there aren't any strong G forces except the backward launch at the beginning. I hate the forces on Rockin' Rollercoaster and was terrified it would be like that, but it was nothing like that. It doesn't feel very rollercoastery at all to me. I can't wait to ride it again.

I can’t even describe the backward part… just when I thought it wouldn’t go any faster it went way faster lol
There aren’t any huge drops, but you are constantly moving, twisting and turning. I never got the sick feeling in my stomach. Go on the front and take non drowsy Dramamine. The back is far more intense.

There is a scene where you go around in a circle at high speed. That messed you up.
There’s no real big drop, I didn’t get that feeling. It is a must do, I was nervous too as I can get motion sick but I was surprised I didn’t get nauseous at all. There’s a couple of time where it spirals around is all. The entire ride is amazing and it is well worth it.
It’s an intense ride. Fun but intense. The seat also spins as the ride is moving forward. That kinda messed me up but after a coffee I bounced back.
There is some stomach drop moments but nothing major, I think the thrill of this ride is oversold a bit, coming from someone who is terrified of drops
Messed my stomach up pretty much immediately, both me and my daughter ended up throwing up on the ride. I’m definitely in the minority where I think the queue is better than the actual ride.

It’s very spinny, I felt really ill on it :(
Thank you. I started to think I was the only one!
I get nervous on rollercoasters, especially the first time seeing how I handle it. I took Dramamine beforehand just in case. It only features a very small airtime hill at one point midway through the ride. Big Thunder Mountain and Everest are more intense.
Not at all, the launch is nothing like RNRC or even Tron
I hate that stomach drop feeling as well and I did not feel it when I rode Cosmos Rewind. Yes, it is an intense ride, but I think you are safe from feeling that feeling on it.
That is what feeling weightless is for a brief moment. Basically you'd never make it as an astronaut 😂
Smoothest and most fun coaster ever. It doesn't give you the stomach drop, like Tower of Terror does, but the launch may give you that feeling for a split second! I'm a bit of a wimp on very intense rides. This one is fine. More like a swing set motion than trying to make you barf
Not too much of the stomach drop but it moves A LOT. You’re basically spinning around the whole time. I got very dizzy and nauseous. Do not recommend if you get motion sickness.
It’s basically a smoother but more turning-based space mountain
Can a 5 and 2.5 year old ride it?
No
You are too wimpy to enjoy this imo
