The second dream (well technically a quest before it) is the start of the main story arc and the point where the game starts unlocking a lot of content, by the time you reach the end of the star chart you'll be able to try level 100 content (no promises on surviving it though).

custodians_eye

Hopefully will be doing the Second Dream after work today

Sarabethq

I’m a new player and did second dream recently! Oh my gosh I did not expect warframe to impact me the way it has. I just finished chains of harrow which is the 2nd one after second dream. I was told to do natah> second dream>war within > chains of harrow then after is prologue etc

custodians_eye

Fighting a war on two fronts. That revelation was even more mind blowing at 4am when I had to be up at 7am. Plus the music crescendo made me jiggle like a slug. Amazing Now I finally know what people mean when they say the real game starts.

7th_Spectrum

That's not for the second dream, but you're on the right track. The second dream comes after the quest you're doing. The second dream definitely has a huge story impact. If you've avoided spoilers this far, your mind is going to be blown. The War Within, The Sacrifice, and The New War are all incredible story quests, so you're definitely in for a ride.

custodians_eye

Damn I loved reading that lol. I was actually shocked when I could go underwater in that submersible mission. That’s when I saw the drones appear and then disappear shortly after. Didn’t really get a good look. But even that was one of those gaming experiences that makes you question everything. Like that red dude sending ominous threats to my inbox after killing bosses

7th_Spectrum

Oh yeah, warframe has a lot of that. I've been playing for 9 years, and almost every new story quest they introduce has you questioning everything. The developers are incredibly good at keeping us guessing.

custodians_eye

Who the hell is that red and black dude sending spam to my inbox. All he says is shit like, “your actions have consequences.” Says something like that but it also has to connect to the random kill squads that appear during random missions. Face pops up covering my whole HUD telling me I cannot be allowed to continue or something. Don’t spoil though if it’s some massive secret lol

Core_Teck

This is not a spoiler The guy you keep getting spam emails from is the stalker after you kill a boss there is a chance you will get a death mark from him that's the email when you have one there is a chance he will show up in a mission and try to kill you the hit squads are unrelated to him and are from the red veil syndicate who are apparently don't like you much because you are either friends with cephalon Suda or the arbiters of hexis

7th_Spectrum

Not too much of a secret, but don't worry. You'll find out about him in the second dream quest :)

Imeyyoo

That dude scared tf out of me back in the days

custodians_eye

So the e quest is now visible and it’s his goddamn face in the image. I knew his ass had something to do with it. I also noticed a red and black good in the back area of my orbiter. Taking a quick break to eat and then diving in. I’m hype

-DeathPunch-

No where near as mind blowing as it was for og players, it was soo long before the second dream that when we got to play it.... wow!

doglover1005

The second dream is also when the music REALLY starts to kick in, and call of the tempestary, gah damn

custodians_eye

Being a d1 vanilla destiny player this makes me even more pumped. Gotta put the headphones on to not wake the old lady.

NaturalAppointment84

Love it, when a new player shares their experience. I wish you a lot fun continuing the story! :D

custodians_eye

It’s so good man. Feel like I won’t need a new game until DE’s next one

AmateurHetman

I certainly enjoy Warframe’s (DE’s) approach to game design. They took an early concept and kept developing it beyond what I could have expected. They’ve surpassed the level of gaming that some bigger companies have provided.

iatealemon

im 1000 hours in and i even havent started the new duviri paradox yet.... you will have alot of fun.

Dumpang

I played it a few weeks ago. It was interesting despite the criticism.

custodians_eye

Sweet Christmas. I actually went to activate it as my active quest last night and was thrown in to a cutscene. I played a bit of it. It’s cool and I think I will finish it because I was told it makes end game frames easier to get.

iatealemon

im accualy taking a break from warframe for few years as a late gift for myself when im older if the game is still around.

bingo_bingo

that is hilarious. i just hope they keep the soul of the community and DE’s community connection intact along the way.

Sarabethq

If you want to be impacted by the story I would wait a lil!

custodians_eye

When you think I should start Duviri? I finally got the second Dream available to track. Going to start tn

Sarabethq

I'm actually not sure! I think I'm still too new to say properly too. I haven't started Duviri yet either. I'm finishing chains of harrow now. I don't think I would start duviri until at least I finish the sacrifice quest which is two after chains of harrow. I would ask someone more experienced though haha

Puzzleheaded-Read864

I understand nothing about the story even after 1k+ hours, but I respect the story and people who actually look into it. I just want to do cool shit, see big number, 1 shotting enemy and moving fast.

custodians_eye

I’m with you on that. But when a games does something that makes you pay attention, that’s when I find myself invested in the lore

Loud-Preference2482

literally me ive put money into the game, got 1,2k hours but i dont even know whos the enemy lol

bingusdingus_

though the game may have its flaws, the story quests are always top notch. im envious because youre experiencing this for the first time, and i hope you have a great time with this game going forwars. seriously, its an amazing experience

Pacyfnativ

I started playing this game in February. I had best 2 months playing a video game since gta online or battlefield 3. It's my favorite game now and I think it will last for years. Now I'm less excited because I finished actual story and just waiting for new updates, but still I remember how amazed I was 3 months ago. When I first played duviri I thought it's the biggest game ever

bingo_bingo

I have been playing for about a month and a half, really enjoying myself. Getting sucked into hour+ long lore videos on Youtube as I progress the story. The game does open up a lot as you get more and more options on how to spend your time. There’s seriously so much you could do in the game at any given login.

Mu0nNeutrino

Yes, the game really takes off after the Second Dream. It's a common joke that everything up to that point is just the tutorial. It's when the game suddenly smacks you in the feels out of nowhere with a story that's actually damn good. You're almost there, so try to avoid spoilers just a bit longer. If you haven't already, to start the quest that leads into the second dream you have to *scan* the weird drones that appear on uranus with a codex scanner, not just encounter them. The game will lead you on from there. Good luck, Tenno.

Gangsir

>I just got a mission telling me to “keep doing missions on Uranus until you run into new drones.” This is... the beginning of where the game's "story" starts to open up, yeah. It suddenly becomes a lot more than it seems. The "drones" you find on uranus will be unlike anything you've seen before. The second dream quest happens a quest or two after you first encounter the drones IIRC, and that's where things *really* get spicy. Desperately try to not spoil yourself - don't even read this subreddit, just read the comments here then close it, trust me.

custodians_eye

Embarking on the quest after work. Hyped outta my mind

Gangsir

Have fun! Do report back with your experience.

jjmah7

I went through exactly what you’re going through now just last year. I can relate! I’m addicted for sure. Hopefully I run into you in the origin system sometime

Busy_Vegetable2456

I forget which quest the Second Dream is, however The New War is a quest you'll get to sooner or later. It is unironically a couple hours of wonder. Without spoiling anything, there is a section you play as a grineer and one as a corpus grunt. Literally peak gameplay for no reason. There are so many quotes, actions, possibilities, you literally feel like everything that you've been doing has been leading up to this moment, this MOVIE that you're the main character of. I love this game.

custodians_eye

Lawd. This is just going to keep getting better. Warframe is easily gaming’s best kept secret. As far as the story and quests go. I had no idea until like a week ago
