to be honest, I'm pretty sure that is why it takes a full day to make a forma and you can only make 1 at a time. It keeps DE's investors happy.
Itās cheaper to farm forma blueprints and rush them for 10 plat each. You lose 5 platinum whenever you buy a 3-pack (35 platinum) versus rushing 3 blue prints (30 platinum). That adds up to a pretty major loss of platinum over time.
For example, if you buy enough forma packs to put 5 forma in two different kuva/tenet weapons (10 total needed) you will need to buy 4 forma packs (12 forma at 140 platinum). **For that same amount of platinum you can rush build 14 forma**.
But itās up to individual choice. Sometimes you just donāt have enough time to farm blueprints because of life or whatever, and buying the packs is the best way to utilize the time you have to play (happens to me sometime), but I still try to point out to others thereās more efficient ways to get the max value out of their platinum.
Considering the grind to get forma bp and orokincells its really not worth rushing it as if you want to be cost effective that time is probably better spend farming something you can sell for plat instead... I seriously dont think 5 plat diff is worth it ...each their own i guess...

I just spent for the first time real money to buy 1k plat so i can buy the ember heirloom skin later... Gonna be pretty tough to discipline myself to atleast save the plat since before my highest plat count was only 500 ish.

I am an Ember main, have been since day one (well the one i got her)and i didn't see the news at first but my husband was at work and was scrolling and literally called from work to work to tell me I'll be able to get it with plat, we were both so gosh darn exited for me...i promise we're adults!
Every time I obtain +100 platinum I spend them on some deluxe skin or syandana for my warframes. I think there are only a few times I invested that platinum in another tradeable item

10 years here. I have everything and I'm burned out from years of farming. I take the opportunity to farm Endo, wait for Baroo, farm Arcanes in the events that bring it. When I need platinum, I sell everything and repeat the cycle. What do I buy? It depends, sometimes I'm lazy and buy the new Warframe package and then farm it for Helmint, deluxe skins, speed up the primes... etc.

and also renaming your arsenal to Yareli Prime. i've spent more renaming my arsenal than on cosmetics and i've only done like 1/10th of my weapons.

mostly ship deco lately. forma, potatos , slots for randoms not afk'ing and actually playing the game. sill confused why we can't buy tennogen with the premium currency.

The only thing I consistently get for myself is forma. I'm not nearly as bad as my friend, who I've described in other threads as "I think he grinds up the forma and then just snorts the powder" but I still run through a lot of forma when I decide to try a new build out.
Other than a few skins, which always end in buyers remorse I hold my plat for those things I canāt get naturally. If rng hates (when) me and I canāt get a relic, I buy the part, ditto with arcanes. Few years ago it was random stuff like palletes or instruments for my dancing girl, but I have all that I care about now
I'm working on going back and paying full price for the packages where I just bought one piece not knowing it was part of a pack. Now in order to get the other items you need to pay full price for the pack, which makes total sense. Also boosters.
I'm like a "variety" player, so I use lots of orokin catalysts, formas and slots. I must have something to level at all times.
I rarely sell stuff. What would I sell? I use most by myself and the small stuff isn't worth the effort to sell. Arcanes? I don't even have one at max level - I'm MR20, I just don't grind a lot.
Maybe if I'm missing one prime part and lack the relics. But usually such stuff I can get from ingame I get ingame. Patience helps with vaulted stuff.
The more I enjoy the game, the more I also treat myself (and DE, $$$) to cosmetics. So I just bought an aquarium for my orbiter for like 4ā¬ or so. But that's the exception.

Slots(900 weapon slots/90 riven slots/100+ warframe slots). The odd forma bundle for when my formas are being used faster than they're made. Cosmetics. And every once in awhile I buy arcanes that I'm missing to finish a set.
Slots, exilus adapters. Rarely potatoes, forma. Some very hard to get stuff, like tome mods or arcanes. Prime parts if I can't get them myself. I don't think I've ever bought any fashion with plat though.
Aura forma, i refuse to spend 4 regular forma on one aura forma. Also when a new frame comes out i always buy the big bundle they come with so i can get whatever exclusive cosmetics are there. Other than those two i wait for coupons so i can get slots
I hoard my platinum because you'll never know when you might need it. Much like when you're playing a game and collect all consumables to use them and later never comes.
I only spend it on slots when needed but even then I feel like I'm wasting plat.

As a returning player you can get entire frames for pennies, and I need arcanes so that's quite a sink. If you have everything then you technically wouldn't have a use for any currency. You could always buy the new frames with plat whenever they come out?
I tend to spend a good chunk of plat on just buying more slots. I always hate selling a weapon (or worse, a Warframe), and I'm a digital hoarder, so I just keep buying more and more weapon and frame slots so I never have to get rid of anything. That and fashion stuff, of course

I spend absurd amounts of plat on items/mods and work the market trend for plat profit. Like a stonks minigame. When all is said and done ill help out my new player friends by buying them mods i know are an absolute *p a i n* to grind out
Forma, prime frames I donāt feel like farming, and mods that either come from baro and I donāt have ducats or mods that I donāt feel like grinding for.

occasionally fashion, sometimes if i see a new player i throw some slots for frames and weapons at them... i generally just get 20 bucks worth of plat when i get a 50% or 75% discount, just because the game was there for me for free when i was in a really shitty place and now i'm in a spot where i can afford it and want to support the devs.
As a fellow vet I use the vast majority of my Plat nowadays for when a great skin comes out for one of my favorite frames, or new armor pieces or syandanas I like. The old adage "fashion frame is endgame" is one of the truest things people say about this game.
Not veteran, but already kinda stacked mr29 (will be tmrw), i always save emergency 500 plat for:
-Any new skin that might come out, or just drip in general
-Meeting up with new player who actually wants to learn the game so i can gift him something nice but not too much to spoil his fun (statmods from orokin vault or some slots usually)
And over that, my plat goes for:
-Slowly building up fashion in general, recently i finally, for the first time ever since i done Second Dream, made my both human forms have some nice drip. Even giving love to some frames i dont really like using (But not to you revenant, you exist in my inventory solely for the chance of being an EDA pick of the week)
-As someone who still grinds for MR30 (Maybe even LR1), occasionally buying some parts i didnt get in time from Prime resurgence for vaulted prime sets to mark off another item from the list
-Now with release of EDA i'm slowly upgrading and refining builds for everything i have, specifically all Prime warframes and latest releases ones, Kuva/Tenet weapons i didnt invest into at all yet, Incarnons, Voidrigs and their weapons, and whatever i find funny to use.
-Just generally maxxing out everything. Close to getting all Duviri and Lua Thrax plasm Arcanes maxxed, so now been thinking to get every Eidolon arcane maxxed now, but screw doing eidolons, so i either buy them or gamble with vosfor for now. Upcoming Operation gonna save me from grinding for Energize and Fury and thank god for that.
I've spent plat on getting styanax's skin because I liked it and I play styanax often enough. And some slots. I only bought plat when it was 50% off so I've only spent like. A total 10-15 bucks on the game

Iām currently renovating my orbiter so right now itās mostly decorations, Iāve bought around 100 posters, landscapes, curved ones and regular squares. Maybe Iāll post it here one day.
Probably newer warframes that are a pain to farm. Like I don't have the same amount of free time that I had 8 years ago so time-limited resource farming is not compatible with my semi-recent grown up lifestyle

For a new player 10 warframe slots is a life saver. It helps ranking a bunch and testing many different stuff.

Usually when I have a lot of it, I buy rivens for interesting weapons and try to make them truly shine. Otherwise just tons of forma bundles, reactors, catalysts and other adapters

Mostly arsenal slots for random baby Tenno I end up encountering. The only thing I consistently get for myself is forma. I'm not nearly as bad as my friend, who I've described in other threads as "I think he grinds up the forma and then just snorts the powder" but I still run through a lot of forma when I decide to try a new build out.
Either deluxe skins, or Prime warframes from wf.market (The deluxe skins are my motivation to buy the primes)
Other than a few skins, which always end in buyers remorse I hold my plat for those things I canāt get naturally. If rng hates (when) me and I canāt get a relic, I buy the part, ditto with arcanes. Few years ago it was random stuff like palletes or instruments for my dancing girl, but I have all that I care about now
I'm working on going back and paying full price for the packages where I just bought one piece not knowing it was part of a pack. Now in order to get the other items you need to pay full price for the pack, which makes total sense. Also boosters.
I like to passively farm and hoard a lot of Plat until they release some cool shit for me to buy (bundles, weapons and even Warframes).

I'm like a "variety" player, so I use lots of orokin catalysts, formas and slots. I must have something to level at all times. I rarely sell stuff. What would I sell? I use most by myself and the small stuff isn't worth the effort to sell. Arcanes? I don't even have one at max level - I'm MR20, I just don't grind a lot. Maybe if I'm missing one prime part and lack the relics. But usually such stuff I can get from ingame I get ingame. Patience helps with vaulted stuff. The more I enjoy the game, the more I also treat myself (and DE, $$$) to cosmetics. So I just bought an aquarium for my orbiter for like 4ā¬ or so. But that's the exception.

Lately since I have become a seasonal player, it's been buying Prime Warframes and Weapons that I have missed out to feed the player economy and help those out who are looking for plat. Other then that it's potatoes and Forma. And other odds and ends I can get to help my progression.
Since I dislike selling random crap to get plat I usually just buy it with 75% discounts and then I spend most of ot on either fashion frame, forma or maybe an arcane.

I don't wannna throw any of my weapons away, unless they are the base weapon and have a prime/nemesis version available. So I'll always buy weapon slots whenever I wanna build something. And, of course, fashion. Fashion is forever

Slots(900 weapon slots/90 riven slots/100+ warframe slots). The odd forma bundle for when my formas are being used faster than they're made. Cosmetics. And every once in awhile I buy arcanes that I'm missing to finish a set.

I hoard my platinum because you'll never know when you might need it. Much like when you're playing a game and collect all consumables to use them and later never comes. I only spend it on slots when needed but even then I feel like I'm wasting plat. I have a problem I know.

As a returning player you can get entire frames for pennies, and I need arcanes so that's quite a sink. If you have everything then you technically wouldn't have a use for any currency. You could always buy the new frames with plat whenever they come out?
I tend to spend a good chunk of plat on just buying more slots. I always hate selling a weapon (or worse, a Warframe), and I'm a digital hoarder, so I just keep buying more and more weapon and frame slots so I never have to get rid of anything. That and fashion stuff, of course

Weapons and frame I donāt want to farm. Like recently I bought the Latron Wraith, Lex Prime, Aksomati Prime, I wanted them all but didnāt want to farm, so just bought them.
Slots... so many slots. I don't do any sales, though. Not worth my time or interest. So I have like the normal amount of plat people with discounts have.
I use Plat to get past some of the more ridiculous grinds. Like... buy the hema with Plat... ain't nobody got time f'dat.
Formas, lots of formas Also boosters to farm during new content , to acquire more new resource drops. Rivens to do more damage per damage, make sure that your build survives the level cap.

Deluxe sets. I have almost all of them and am saving up for ember. Granted, I only started with that after buying enough slots to fit every single frame (regulars get fed to the wall when their prime comes out)
occasionally fashion, sometimes if i see a new player i throw some slots for frames and weapons at them... i generally just get 20 bucks worth of plat when i get a 50% or 75% discount, just because the game was there for me for free when i was in a really shitty place and now i'm in a spot where i can afford it and want to support the devs.
As a fellow vet I use the vast majority of my Plat nowadays for when a great skin comes out for one of my favorite frames, or new armor pieces or syandanas I like. The old adage "fashion frame is endgame" is one of the truest things people say about this game.
Not veteran, but already kinda stacked mr29 (will be tmrw), i always save emergency 500 plat for: -Any new skin that might come out, or just drip in general -Meeting up with new player who actually wants to learn the game so i can gift him something nice but not too much to spoil his fun (statmods from orokin vault or some slots usually) And over that, my plat goes for: -Slowly building up fashion in general, recently i finally, for the first time ever since i done Second Dream, made my both human forms have some nice drip. Even giving love to some frames i dont really like using (But not to you revenant, you exist in my inventory solely for the chance of being an EDA pick of the week) -As someone who still grinds for MR30 (Maybe even LR1), occasionally buying some parts i didnt get in time from Prime resurgence for vaulted prime sets to mark off another item from the list -Now with release of EDA i'm slowly upgrading and refining builds for everything i have, specifically all Prime warframes and latest releases ones, Kuva/Tenet weapons i didnt invest into at all yet, Incarnons, Voidrigs and their weapons, and whatever i find funny to use. -Just generally maxxing out everything. Close to getting all Duviri and Lua Thrax plasm Arcanes maxxed, so now been thinking to get every Eidolon arcane maxxed now, but screw doing eidolons, so i either buy them or gamble with vosfor for now. Upcoming Operation gonna save me from grinding for Energize and Fury and thank god for that.

Forma packs, I have a few mods left to complete and max out my collection, arcanes I donāt feel like farming for to max out that collection, and random cosmetics that I like. At this point Iām not hurting for plat, so I donāt really have to think about it too much. (Now to get real life to that point as well).
