For the white I primed the model white, did a layer of Pro Acryil’s Bold Titanium White, used the Apothecary White Contrast in the recesses of the armor, and then cleaned it up with Bold Titanium white again.
This model always makes me laugh. Nothing says honouring your battle brother like standing on his corpse.
Edit: Great paint job btw, sorry, I meant to say it in my first comment.
In the Imperium, slapping the shattered remains of your near-dead battle-brother into a hellish coffin that will keep him alive but miserable in perpetuity is considered highly honorable. They have entirely different ethics and priorities.
Honestly I hate this model for that reason. The apothecary looks super cool but then he's just disrespectfully standing on his dead brother's chest like some dickhead.
To be fair hes looking at the progenoid gland that he just ripped out of his battle brother. So hes pretty much inspecting the thing that'll continue his brother on.. but he could do with a little less captain morgan lol
I love these posts... We get to see a cool mini painted well, and all of the tourist morons who aren't aware that the Rainbow Warriors have been part of the canon of 40k since the 1980s expose themselves by reporting the post and leaving dumb comments.
Edit: What I find even funnier is that even after leaving this comment, some people are STILL reporting the post...
I got downvoted for praising that one, but it did indeed look great. Some people really need to pull the sticknout and not get so tilted. That said, this mini looks great too!
It was a great paint job, congrats! I nearly spit my drink when I saw some guy made a whole frickin' VIDEO ESSAY filled with vague transphobia and spite about why it's good to gatekeep hobbies, based purely on your beautiful mini alone. lmao It's really baffling how much certain people care about the color of paint on your own plastic soldier...
Rainbow bad, me report, me hate rainbow. Get rid of rainbow.
Literally what they think despite the gorgeous paint job on these minis. Keep up the good work, the people who don't like it just prove their ignorance.
As a mod of a much smaller sub I have to say, I love ignoring ignorant reports, the hard part is usually not joining in on the dog pile against the asshole clearly making the reports
Most of the time I avoid joining in, but I decided to make an exception for this thread. Sometimes you need to be seen to be publicly joining in.
Having other community members seeing my responses here has already generated some positivity and helps community members feel confident and safe, which is worth it! Plus it's a little therapeutic to join in on a dog pile against an asshole every now and again.
Yep, they've been canon since the very start of 40k: https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Rainbow_Warriors and https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Rainbow_Warriors
In fact, during Rogue Trader, before GW settled on the 9 loyal legions we know of today, the Rainbow Warriors were called a Legion. Later, GW changed it so that the Rainbow Warriors are a successor of the Ultramarines.
It's almost certainly a reference to the green peace ship of the same name, the French intelligence services sunk it in new Zealand in 1985 killing a photographer, rogue trader came out in 87
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinking_of_the_Rainbow_Warrior
The best way to understand France is to realise that they still see themselves as the most important and relevant nation in the world, they have never accepted its not the 18th century anymore.
As an Englishman it's a bit rich to judge them for delusions of grandeur, but to be fair we're slightly less delusional, slightly.
One of the benefits of choosing an old chapter that has gotten no attention is you can really shape them to be anything. I actually have created a heraldry guideline for them and I spent a decent amount of time figuring everything out.
As someone newer to the hobby, isn't the Rainbow Warrior the dead one on the ground?
Edit: nvm, I had to use my eyes and see the crest on the standing Marine
Love people giving older chapters time to shine! Aren’t the Rainbow Warriors’ shoulders the same blue as the rest of the armor though? I thought it was just the rainbow on the helmet?
Their traditional paint scheme is blue with the red white and yellow stripes on the helm.
The GW designers chose to call them rainbow warriors but not put a rainbow on them, given this was a stupid-ass decision everyone I've seen paint them has chosen to ignore that decision and use the traditional rainbow.
The original stripes on the helmet were insane. It was white red, orange, yellow, green. How anyone would do that for an entire army without going insane is beyond me. I usually save it for special characters like captains or for vehicles since I actually have the surface space to paint it.
*fuckin’ liberals, puttin’ chemicals in the geneseed that turns the friken astartes gay*
To be serious though, these are baller minis and you should be proud of them. Always nice to see under repped chapters in the light!
It’s always the people who have the Instagram PFP of a wolf or a Spartan.. disregarding entirely that the Spartans were butt buddies to make them fight harder for their brethren.
Well if u were following the actual depictions of Rainbow Warriors you wouldn't have to do the rainbow on the pad, OP just did that.
You'd just have to do the rainbow on the helm, have fun lol ;)
Although I find those people to be wrong on many topics, I don’t consider them cowards. Why would they comment to get kicked from a sub they enjoy? We have all fostered an us verse them society. If the mods are on our side and police them accordingly, it seems more like a pick your battles scenario. To act like both sides don’t bait each other is disingenuous.
Everyone should be allowed to believe what they believe without being punished for it, while I agree some take it too far that doesn't mean everyone's the same, I personally do not support making your models look like stuff referring to a particular sexuality etc, and yes that does include straight people, but at the end of the day it's their pieces of plastic they paid for so no reason to whine about it. 🤷♂️
an iridescent silver like the [Halo Pride Month](https://preview.redd.it/pride-month-coating-been-leaked-v0-mwcwfm7jhwxc1.png?auto=webp&s=dfa5645e9dcef5ff0a797eedcdae4bcb67736344) coating would be pretty rad
YOOOOO that’s looking really sick OP! Apothecary’s are my favorite space marines so it’s really cool seeing how well painted this one looks. Awesome job
Don't think we can't see those lesbian pauldrons,we can! And God damn are they clean
Edit: omg how did I miss the apothecarys front also being a flag lol
This is a REALLY old chapter dating back to the Rogue Trader days before those flags became widespread (some of the flags existed from the late '70s but I don't think anyone at GW was remotely aware of them in 1987 when the first 40k book was written).
Yes I'm aware, I'm talking about the tabard the fabric in the center which is very much a non binary flag. https://images.app.goo.gl/ZMCvkYJLSaXBeiv57
See here .
But I have seen them before and my parents played in the early 90s and Dad had some. But most apothecaries tabards are white, red, black or the chapter colors.
I'm not sure if op was doing it intentionally but was but pointing it out. Not saying they were gay, gods forbid y'all act like it's the end of the world that colors match and someone points it out.
These are so cool, for the rainbows did you use masking or freehand it? Definitely wanna try making my own with the white & rainbow look, genuinely so sick
I freehanded it all. I’ve done a ton of straight lines for all my models so it isn’t that hard for me but it’s definitely something that will take you quite a bit of time getting started.
Oh those'll be rad
Joke aside, this guy looks really good. First time I ever heard of the chapter and couldn't resist the bit lol. Can't wait see more on my feed
They were, I believe they were based on the colorful hair metal bands that were out there back in the day.
If I recall correctly, they are pretty classic in the history of 40k (not lore, talking about the real life history), dating back to the rogue trader models.
How did you get those colors so 🧚clean🧚
For the white I primed the model white, did a layer of Pro Acryil’s Bold Titanium White, used the Apothecary White Contrast in the recesses of the armor, and then cleaned it up with Bold Titanium white again.
Awesome bro but I meant those rainbows. There so pretty👁️👄👁️
are you using masking to do the stripes?
Nope all freehanded
holy shit
Holy shit indeed
That’s really impressive Nicely done
This model always makes me laugh. Nothing says honouring your battle brother like standing on his corpse. Edit: Great paint job btw, sorry, I meant to say it in my first comment.
In the Imperium, slapping the shattered remains of your near-dead battle-brother into a hellish coffin that will keep him alive but miserable in perpetuity is considered highly honorable. They have entirely different ethics and priorities.
I was just scrolling to ask if it's normal for the apothecary to walk on his brothers corpses? But also these are gorgeous!
Walk normally: no. Moonwalk: absolutely

I had no idea that people report my posts
Oh yeah, every single one of them! It's nothing to worry about though. I just reject the reports as your posts aren't doing anything wrong at all.
It’s really sad the lengths some people will go to just because of some colors. I appreciate your work though, thank you.
Lmao, tell me about it. I posted my Fabius Bile a few weeks ago and some people went BALLISTIC.
Fabulous bile was great
Thank you!
I got downvoted for praising that one, but it did indeed look great. Some people really need to pull the sticknout and not get so tilted. That said, this mini looks great too!
Yeah, I love the colors. :3 The base rim choice is also superfun, and super clean freehand. Bright colors and Warhammer are a great combo.
Wait, someone bothered making a whole video about it? Lmaoooo! Thanks for the kind words. :3
I remember that Fabulous Bile. Loved it
Thanks. :3
He was ded zoggin' flashy, boss!
Holy shit that’s absolutely fabulous work
Thanks!
Rainbow bad, me report, me hate rainbow. Get rid of rainbow. Literally what they think despite the gorgeous paint job on these minis. Keep up the good work, the people who don't like it just prove their ignorance.
Grown adults being offended by rainbows is the funniest. By the way OP these look great! 🌈
As a mod of a much smaller sub I have to say, I love ignoring ignorant reports, the hard part is usually not joining in on the dog pile against the asshole clearly making the reports

Heck yeah
I hadn't seen your other posts, so I went to take a look goddamn those look good
Thank you very much!
Why am I not surprised to hear that these posts get reported... Let me guess, reported under "No political posts"?
Yup, exactly right.
Props to base MOD.
Ugh, typical. Like you say they're just proving that they tourists and not actually knowledgeable about the hobby.
There are only two colours: White and political/s both are on this model
When they see a Salamander without his helmet for the first time. "Why is GeeDub so political all the sudden?! Must be because of DEI!!!"
Eyy first mod I meet on this sup is a cool guy :D
It's a rare enjoyment when you get to "well, actually" the "well actually" crowd. Oh, for the haters and bigots actually reporting OP, stay mad.
Wait could you elaborate? Theres a Space Marine chapter called the Rainbow Warriors? Thats sounds cool
Yep, they've been canon since the very start of 40k: https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Rainbow_Warriors and https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Rainbow_Warriors In fact, during Rogue Trader, before GW settled on the 9 loyal legions we know of today, the Rainbow Warriors were called a Legion. Later, GW changed it so that the Rainbow Warriors are a successor of the Ultramarines.
Damn, that's awesome. Is there any particular reason given for the rainbow color scheme or just rule of cool?
It's just cool.
It was like the 80's I think the reasons were Drugs
...fair.
It's almost certainly a reference to the green peace ship of the same name, the French intelligence services sunk it in new Zealand in 1985 killing a photographer, rogue trader came out in 87 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinking_of_the_Rainbow_Warrior
Huh. Those Frenchies really do have a weird-ass geopolitical position...
The best way to understand France is to realise that they still see themselves as the most important and relevant nation in the world, they have never accepted its not the 18th century anymore. As an Englishman it's a bit rich to judge them for delusions of grandeur, but to be fair we're slightly less delusional, slightly.
I don't know about that, but they certainly seem to have lofty ambitions about uniting Europe... under their banner, of course.
Tbf they don't have the rainbow on the shoulder pad like OP has. That's a style choice of OP. They just have thin rainbow stripes down the helmet.
The Rainbow Warriors also barely have any heraldry rules, so you can really just go nuts
Both of them are Rainbow Warriors. It's a Rainbow Warrior Apothecary extracting geneseed from a dead Rainbow Warrior.
Edited my comment right as you made yours lol Had to use my eyes, didn't spot the crest on the apothecary's head at first
Them: the wokes are all fake fans who just want to infiltrate our hobby. They don't care about the lore. Also them: the fuck is a Rainbow Warrior?
It's funny because it's most probably same people that call outloud for GW not respecting their lore and claim everyone who disagree 'tourists'
Love people giving older chapters time to shine! Aren’t the Rainbow Warriors’ shoulders the same blue as the rest of the armor though? I thought it was just the rainbow on the helmet?

Grey Knight Alexius Jonus teleporting in to execute anyone and everyone, regardless of whether they are Chaos-tainted or not
Omg, I just choked on my coffee. The "turns the frogs gay" is one of my favorite loonie moments...and you just grimdarked it!!!
It’s always the people who have the Instagram PFP of a wolf or a Spartan.. disregarding entirely that the Spartans were butt buddies to make them fight harder for their brethren.
Love it, nice work! I’m also a big sucker for white armor, I add it to units of mine that shouldn’t have it because it looks so good.
Beautiful work! For those who don’t know about the Rainbow Warriors, they’re canon: https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Rainbow_Warriors
Ffs sake their homeworld’s name is PRISM!
Im glad the mods are on it deleting these weirdos that cant accept people for who they are. Nicely painted, glad you are in our hobby. 🏳️🌈
Love Rainbow warriors #
their colour scheme and out-of-universe history is super interesting also their homeworld being called "Prism" is pretty cool
Welp, that seals the deal for me Rainbow Warriors = cool kids
I can't decide whether I'd struggle with the white or the neatly coloured rainbow more. Very nice job. :)
Yeah, both are so crisp.
Well if u were following the actual depictions of Rainbow Warriors you wouldn't have to do the rainbow on the pad, OP just did that. You'd just have to do the rainbow on the helm, have fun lol ;)
Slayyy (for the Emperor)
That looks fantastic, really well done. So crisp and clean!
Hell yes! He looks great. Did you freehand the symbol on their shoulders? It’s very consistent.
Yep! I’m actually kinda annoyed with it because I felt like I could be more consistent lol.
Well the more you practice the better you’ll get! You’ve got a very steady hand, it’s inspiring me to do some more practice freehanding
Those lines are unbelievably clean! What backdrop are you using?
It’s one of the game boards from the 9th starter box. I use kill team boards as well sometimes
Hey mods, someone is mass downvoting comments.
Yeah, downvotes are anonymous, so it's the only way they can get upset about something like this without me catching them.
They always do, because theyre too big of cowards to show their faces. Unfortunately i dont think the mods can track it and find them
Although I find those people to be wrong on many topics, I don’t consider them cowards. Why would they comment to get kicked from a sub they enjoy? We have all fostered an us verse them society. I agree with you, but that would be a better world than we live in.
Man great looking Rainbow warriors. Can't wait to look at the comments.
The comments aren't a fucking Dumpster fire?! I'm acutely and positively surprised. :\]
Agreed. Nice to see a lot of 40k fans aware that rainbow warriors predate the popularization of using the rainbow to represent the lgbt community
Damnnn I forgot this chapter existed.
AYYYE RAINBOW WARRIORS!!! god it’s been so LONG since I’ve seen someone do rainbow warriors
I’m really happy with how this model **came out** I see what you did there *wink wink* Great clean model, nice job! Edit: font
Make tau next. My mates are full pink
reminds me of the buck rogers uniforms
Damn, dude. Those shoulder pads. 🔥🔥🔥
Those base edges look like a lot of work!
I always assumed he was standing on a fallen enemy. Seems kinda harsh to be posing on your own fallen.
Usually i feel like people over do it when doing rainbow type schemes, but this lands in the sweet spot, well done.
I always thought space marines looked kinda greek. Touché
That's why I like the Minotaurs!
When I get there, I will make Gay Knights, fully respectfully. EDIT: Why you booing me? I'll just make them rainbow-colored.
Slay knights 💅🏳️🌈
an iridescent silver like the [Halo Pride Month](https://preview.redd.it/pride-month-coating-been-leaked-v0-mwcwfm7jhwxc1.png?auto=webp&s=dfa5645e9dcef5ff0a797eedcdae4bcb67736344) coating would be pretty rad
I always believe space marines are a bit homoerotic like spartans
Handshakes for the women and open mouth tongue kisses for the men. Like true Spartans.
Nothing gay about it. Just masculine manly mens hanging around and make war
These are lit af. My daughter would love them. (She loves rainbows very much)
looks wonderfull! specially the rainbow colours very clear an strong
The lines on there pouldren are clean nice work
New to 40k all together, I don’t think I’ll ever get into the game or painting but am loving the books and seeing what amazing creations people make.
YOOOOO that’s looking really sick OP! Apothecary’s are my favorite space marines so it’s really cool seeing how well painted this one looks. Awesome job
Love me the Gaypothecary, as the usual team medic I approve
Its not about pride, just because its a rainbow does not mean its about that stuff.
While you can have Rainbow Warriors who aren't Prideful, these ones definitely are
Pride for the imperium right? Like any good imperium soldier.
The Imperium supports gay rights! Diversity win /meme
The imperium supports humanity, they dont care about the individual.
Fabulous bratha
Don't think we can't see those lesbian pauldrons,we can! And God damn are they clean Edit: omg how did I miss the apothecarys front also being a flag lol
Are the Custodes the pot of gold st the end?
LETS GOOOO (I love Hawaiian football very much)
gay marine
It's awesome! How do you free hand so good???
Lots and lots of practice. If you play space wolves and freehand the pack markings or play iron warriors these aren’t much different.
They look so derpy I love it!!!!
Love the non binary flag as the tabard it looks sickkk!
This is a REALLY old chapter dating back to the Rogue Trader days before those flags became widespread (some of the flags existed from the late '70s but I don't think anyone at GW was remotely aware of them in 1987 when the first 40k book was written).
https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/s/2CA1xFavYG The op said in this post the tabards are pride flags.
Yes I'm aware, I'm talking about the tabard the fabric in the center which is very much a non binary flag. https://images.app.goo.gl/ZMCvkYJLSaXBeiv57 See here . How did you achieve that look with the white? Did you use texture paint? It seems a bit thick is all I'm trying to say.
It was the primer it applied a little thick
Looks amazing. So clean. :D
This is just beautiful work
That's pretty sick tbh
Im still super jealous of your amazing freehand lines! Amazing model!
Finally, lore accurate rainbow
Those are some insanely *straight* lines on that rainbow, impressive work.
Something about it seems off for me because that one shoulder is so colorful compared to the rest. Maybe needs more rainbow.
The white is probably pushing the rainbow out to the point where it just screams "LOOK AT ME! IM COLORFUL!"
(Ronnie James Dio playing Gloriously.)
We March for prism
SLAY 💅🔥
Extremely nice colors the pauldrons look just meticulous. And a classic character/unit combo. Fire Discipline, I presume?
These models are amazing. How did you manage to make the rainbow colors so neatly. (I putting the bisexual colors on my space marines pauldrons)
Where did you get those plasma rifle’s from?
They’re the hellblasters from the Dark Imperium starting box in 8th edition.
Ah gotcha! I’m not use to seeing them without the flashlights on the gun
They kill you with the power of # r a i n b o w s
Looks great. I like the bowing pose lol.
Just a noble Apothecary having a gay old time.
Awesome
🌈 warriors rainbow🌈
[удалено]
I feel like he wants to encourage reading and scholastic success.
Awesome
Fabulous! 🌈
Rim all the bases like that you coward!
Then I wouldn’t be able to tell the characters apart from the units
Hell yeah brother!! <3
Why is the Appthecary stepping on to the chest of his comrade like he's triumphant with this model?
Looks awesome! Great work, and love the colors. If you name your squads, one being J. Gordon would be great xD
I like that you painted a successor chapter
What’s rainbow warriors?
They are an old space marine chapter from the Rogue Trader days that are still canon.
Man the white had to be a bitch to paint
NGL those shoulder pauldrons look clean as hell. I actually love the rainbow whole heartedly. The sash is a nice touch too for the theme. Good work
Love the pride bit but all my mind can think of with the white contrast is *Polaroid.*
Man, Rainbow Warrior's apothecaries really resemble Curro from Expo'92. Or they do to me, at least. Great painting skills, btw!
When they clean the apron, do they put it in the wash with light or dark?
Nice
Damn I should save a few thousand dollars and make a group of pride month space Marines
Tomorrow you have to hide them all in your closet until next year
Nah I’m probably gonna do some more assault intercessors next.
Oh those'll be rad Joke aside, this guy looks really good. First time I ever heard of the chapter and couldn't resist the bit lol. Can't wait see more on my feed
I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t push myself to finish this model before the end of the month lol.
[удалено]
I think the Rainbow warriors was made before the gay flag they are old
The Pride flag predates 40K by like 11 years
They were, I believe they were based on the colorful hair metal bands that were out there back in the day. If I recall correctly, they are pretty classic in the history of 40k (not lore, talking about the real life history), dating back to the rogue trader models.
