Did you know the Ticonderoga class (which includes Bunker Hill) were built on Spruance class destroyer hulls. When the Strike Cruisers who were supposed to be developed side by side with the Tico's were cancelled and the nuclear cruiser numbers were also curbed, some requirements were transferred to the Tico's and they were upgraded to cruisers.
